Let me start by saying I own a Fury and 3 lvl 10 tridents. I rarely use them as I find them boring. TT Furys are everywhere and imho a cancer on the game when you have to face 5+ every single round. PP and DC they aren't as OP as they are on every other map. They need to either decrease the dmg or increase the reload time. It's absolutely no fun to play when u drop in to see 4 TT Furys on the red team.

Yeah, they are pretty powerful but maybe you haven't run into a ancelot yet. You need all 4 trident furies to pound that ancelot to death. And when red teams up their own treb or trident fury with that ancelot, you start losing trident furies quickly.
Just some perspective on checks and balances as I hate nerfs.

I've seen my fair share of Ancelots I've found that simply walking inside their shield with my ork/pinata Galahad = gg most of the time. Same with a dB rhino or Griff, or a ork Rog. It's not terribly hard to kill nor is it really all that op to anything with a shield. Plasma also kills it relatively fast since they reduced the Lance's shield HP.

I have a Ancelot but I find there is plenty of Leo's 'Carnages'Lancelots with Thunders which take out my sheld.
If people are saying it's overpowering they should 1v1 it with a Lancelot with a thunder,
It also seems my sheild is down most time due Tridents and thunders.
I have no protection when dealing with Gareth'Stalker'Griffs etc with plasma run around back me.
I just have better defence agasnt roctets.
I am given lot firepower up for that sheild ditching the Thunder .
Yes it'seems good but it is not overpowering.
Just looks overpowering like lot bots when it's in right situation agasnt bots with wrong equipment deal with it.
For 6500 gold it is Balanced and not overpowerd like 700 gold Aphid or 5000 gold Trident fury.
It's good in right situation

It's not that people are saying Ancelots are OP, it's that they're saying that Ancelots are an effective counter to Trident Furies.

Trident Furies were indirectly nerfed with the buff of the Ancile.

Find a friend who has an ancille and cuddle up in the matches. Yeah, I don't have a good answer for you.
I was in your camp until 2.5 hit with the ancille buff (I have a 6/9 trident fury I'm still leveling). After taking on a number of ancelots and Pothead Leos and whatever else you can stick an ancille on, I need to level up my tridents even faster (but won't because I don't want to invest the gold).
I just hate when Pixo nerfs things because they tend to take the First Two Bowls of Porridge Approach - too hot or too cold....seems like they don't quite get the Just About Right too many times.

The story of War Robots is that the developers at Pixonic basically have no idea how to balance a team tournament game. Moreover, this story revolves around the fact that they thought the ingenious (and admittedly impressive) act of adding a wealth of diversity in terms of power and abilities would add to the richness of the gameplay, which it has. But it did so at the expense of stability. So now, because apparently nobody at Pix has ever played Roshambo (rock-paper-scissors), or has any ability to understand this concept, you have all types of robots and weapons with all types of ranges and power levels, fighting players with all types of hanger sizes and strength, and there are no restrictions, nor a consistent set of guidelines by which any of this activity operates. Throw in a gang of seal clubbers and a finicky matchmaker, and you have a recipe for fanatic vitriol, which is where we are now. And now they're testing "pulse" weapons. It all sounds cool, but at the end of the day it just makes the competition messy by creating imbalance, because players have their preferences of weapons and playing styles, but Pixonic can't get it through their skulls that some of their robots and weapons have unbalanced advantages. Think about it. No matter what weapon or robot they come out with, unless it is universally useless or bad, someone will always like it, and someone will always hate it. Even if it was intended to be problematic as a test, some players will find a way to like it, and someone will hate it. That's life. And when players seeking to win or those who have natural proclivities for the playing styles facilitated by those resources, start to use said robots and weapons disproportionately, they then ostracize players interested in having a fair game of fun, and those who lack the inherent proclivities toward the aforementioned playing styles; Thus decimating the very diversity of the game, which the new weapons and robots were intended to bolster. It is ironic. Pixonic is trying, but they literally have no idea what they're doing. It shows in every step that they take in developing the game further. Changes to the system are far too drastic, now with daily missions coming to a close and the introduction of leagues. Some may enjoy the diversity and constant evolution of the game. To others it is destabilizing and serves as a deterrent for their willingness to invest time or RLM into the game, which is even more ironic, that the Goose That Laid The Golden Egg would destroy that egg in an effort to extract more gold. I for one, think its interesting to see how this all plays out. I've not taken a decided stand on many of these issues either way, but it is evident that Pix needs to get its act together before its too late.

To be honest I find the Trebuchets more annoying as you can't (generally) stay out of range of them ... Tridents are only 600m - work around it

NO MORE NERFS. #mourntheaphids
Let me clarify... I HATE the midrange meta. However, I am absolutely tired of the nerf cycle. And this is the only weapon I would actually like to see nerfed (only one I would like to see is the reload lengthened, I used to think the splash should be decreased, too, but decided that it is a heavy weapon with splash, it should be pretty damn awesome)... but it won't stop there. Soon, there will be another, and another, and another... as we have seen. Let the meta do its thing. Let the leagues hit, and settle into what they are supposed to be, then see if they are still the menace that we assume they are.

I think we need to see what the ancile correction does before anyone should be screaming for a nerf to Tridents. Yes Tridents are good and devastating but we are now given the Carnage (very usuable) and Fujin (somewhat usable) both for only WSP and the ancile (which is admittedly gold) and they have all gotten their shield hps effectively doubled...
Also, while I have not tried it, Molots seem to annihilate TT Furies at about 700m. If I knew red would play only TT furies I am guessing I could win with Molot Griffins but I need to test this.
Edit: I have 3 aphids and I am still happy that they were nerfed. I wish they flew in just a little higher arc for a little more indirect fire capability but the only thing saw during the aphid boom was aphids. It was like hey I have these plasma and rocket weapons....but....all I want to do is hide behind walls and chuck homing weapons that seemingly found you almost no matter what.
I think they should make jump packs for the light weapon slots, and then depending on your transport score (weight/aerodynamics, etc.) you could jump a certain amount of meters. Putting one on each side of the bot would increase the range by more than 2 on their own, and a symetrical third (think gepard with it's 3 hard points) would improve it further. But this is fantasy and random, and has nothign to do with tridents.

Kwk Fury (hate the new name?) can take out a bunch of tt furies if working in a team.
