Evangelion is beautiful if a little confusing. I saw this weird mecha film but can't remember the name. Post apocalyptic world but it was filmed a bit like a film Noir style with huge mecha's. Hopefully it will come to me... Closest thing to a non-Japanese mech is Warhammer 40k i think... Is it Big O you're thinking of? Howcome nobody's mentioned Macross/Robotech yet? Classic. RahXephon springs to mind, but it was more 'alien relic' rather than man made mech. Zone if the Enders deserves a mention, a rather enjoyable game. There was an anime series too but I haven't seen it.

I put in the shout for Macross the day Jay created this thread actually. Always loved me some Robotech.

For me it all started with the one and only classic: Robotech, The Macross saga. Damn that makes me feel old. But it was great. A precursor to many good things. Full credit to Gundam, which Jay mentioned and was the originator of the genre, but I was a little too young and Robotech hit me square in my newly formed sci-fi nerd head parts. I'm right there with ya on feeling old, but you're right; macross still stands the test of time. Oh and metal skin panic, Maddox-01 is an oldie-but-goodie.

That's what I thought... Exteel's rope comment was from that amazingly awesome and cult classic movie... not a representation of a need for any medication. You evidently missed the sources of my comments. Might be an age thing. Man, I thought you were talking about the old pace piquante commercials from a long time ago. "That stuff made in New York City, NEW YORK CITY!!! Get a rope..."

The appleseed mangas (the animes we're okayish, but nothing to the complexity of the Comics).
The mechs and especially the weapons are extremely detailed. The story is also interesting.

I was going to say GoBots just to troll. But they don't count because they're like Transformers. :/
When I was a kid, I watched Ninja Robots every afternoon after school. lol
And BattleTech was of course cool.

Geass is my favorite show with mechs in it, but the mechs are incidental to the plot. I think my favorite mech show would be a toss up between ironblood orphans and 08th ms team. Big O gets an honorable mention.
