I'd been pretty much a 100 keys chest opener. Last month I saved and saved and finally dropped my finger onto that fat thousand key fellow, watched all those nifty prizes roll by and with anticipation piqued and muttering all the things I hoped might come my way, saw it land on an aphid. AN APHID! ONE STINKING SOLITARY GODDDAMN APHID! But I gave it another go this time and just and mumbled how I was going to get cornholed again by this 「dookie」e system. What this time? A Molot? Maybe a 5 key chest? Nope, scored a Fury. This may need further testing but I suspect the superchest taps into your microphone, or has some sort of empathic sensor. If it picks up excitement or optimism, it gives you a nice serving of rancid scabs. If it senses morosity or antipathy towards it, out pops the sweet stuff. Next time I'm going to watch Schindlers List, Gran Torino, Knightriders, and the start of Up and then try it again, see if I can con it.

Once supply drops arrive, avoid the BM like the Black Death plague and it might put you out of your misery.
when supply drops hit live, I will ignore the BM for good.

Was just going to say that. Unless you're one of the idiots that actually bought keys, they are totally free. I understand the frustration of grinding out 1000 keys and not getting something you wanted.. But in the end, it was free. You were going to play those matches anyways. Take what you get, move on, and better luck next time.

I think the moral of the story is that if you want to spread your risk but accept overall lower payout (unless you need Ag and silver wpns) throw everything into bronze. If you want something good, do free bronze spins and save keys until you hit gold but dont count on getting anything you want or need. Going all bronze might get you to SC quicker on average, idk.

Keys are as much a currency now, as Au or Ag, and your frustration is understandable.

Why go back to the same disappointment to expect something good out of the rigged chests when you clearly know you will be disappointed by the outcome? Also with supply drops, I'm assured that I have a guaranteed steady income of components without needing to hope to get what I want from the BM.

I have won 5000 au, 5000 au and a lance from gold chests and earned components for a hover, 2 storms and nearly 1 shocktrain from gold, silver and grand prize chests.

How many days does the BM have when it starts? It has just over 11 days now. I want to gauge how likely I am to do finish this gold chest.

However, if they can manage to pull this off right, they might actually be able to pull in more players. Supply drops are going to be crucial for F2P in the long run.

However, if they can manage to pull this off right, they might actually be able to pull in more players. Supply drops are going to be crucial for F2P in the long run. It is worth remembering that what they can giveth away with one hand they can be taketh away with the other. What you get is totally dependent on them and is adjusted according to player sentiment, player base size, potential competitors emerging in the market and basically however they feel at the time. Say for instance • they give you more silver but take away gold from the WS • they give you components in the SD and reduce the pay out of stuff in the BM. You may just keep on getting more keys and silver • Give you components in the SD and increase the prices of components in the sales • Provide really small component offers at a less frequent interval to offset the component drop (inquisitor?) This is a complex ecosystem that they can regulate in order to tempt you and get you hooked. How much you get out does not depend on the number of mechanisms. It simply depends on what pixonic is willing to provide in return for your precious time. These mechanism also allow them to control dynamic pricing better and set outrages buy out prices for the whales. The balancing act that pix is doing is between giving away as little as possible while keeping the F2P player base reasonably happy. At the same time they are also protecting the investment of the whales (term used with no disrespect) by inhibiting F2P players from acquiring premium content at zero monetary cost within a reasonable time frame. The introduction of new mechanisms also creates hope for the F2P players and saws the seed of delusion that they can acquire content in a reasonable time frame. By the time the mechanism is figured out there will be a new one and the cycle repeats itself. Your high hope is a testament to this.

Well explained post T34, however, I truly believe that the SD system will keep the F2P players at bay and stay longer. F2P outnumbers the whales and without F2P players the whales will get bored with no one to play with. warrobots.net/en/posts/165:-Rewards include Silver, keys and components. -Rewards are NOT random. -Supply Drops contain a fixed amount of Silver, Keys and Components based on your league. I'm assured by Pixonic that I can stick to this game longer without needing to spend anymore RM so I can only hope that they can do what they say. Acquiring components solely through BM isn't going to guarantee to get me what I want since it's a form of gambling unless I pay straight up with RM. I don't like to pay for overpriced things that aren't worth their actual value, it's like buying a $300 toy to end up throwing it away when I have no use for it anymore or get bored with it and only to regret it later on. I know the Haechi isn't actually worth $300 (Pix's BS way of overpricing stuff), but around $50 sounds like a fair price to me, I would certainly buy it, many others would too by saving up their pocket money or gift from New year or Christmas Eve. For example, a child asks his parents if they can buy him a Haechi as a gift for Christmas Eve for $300. What would they say? They would obviously say NO after hearing $300 because they know money is hard to earn and there is better stuff to spend it on like food and clothes. So that's why I have high hopes for SD to enter the game soon.

It's not exactly inspiring to see that. More keys, well, this just gets you random rewards. Silver, meh, just play a few more matches to receive the same. It's a token effort at best.

runamok, yes it starts with Kumiho and it rotates around each month. While the Kumiho is weak, I will still take it rather than pay $300. If it's weak it shouldn't have cost that price in the first place. The silver, keys are just extras from SD and what I'm keying is Components which is the only way to get new stuff.

I refuse to drop any cash into the "wheels" or any game mode.. that is a losers game..
I play the game because I enjoy the game.. I pay my 9.99 a month if I am mining silver because I am upgrading .
I will only spin the free keys..
Anything that feels like gambling, is gambling and as in Vegas, only the house wins..
Cheers..

Guys, a quick reality check. This is all an illusion and everyone is worse off!!! From the whales to the F2P group. There is nothing free here!! If you think you are better off and getting free stuff u r mistaken. Even with the SDs. To illustrate my point, jump in your time machine and go back to the time of the ancilot domination. Slow and big like dinosaurs Russel did a calculation a long time ago and if memory serves me well he came to an earnable figure of about 1000 gold a week for the average player. A Lancelot was 5000, a Galahad 2500, a Gareth 1200 and a griffin well nothing. These were top bots. Do the math and that was your earning and budget. Also in about 20 days you could max out that Galahad or what ever and job was done. Now back in your time machine and spin back to today or perhaps even to the time of the supply drops. Makes no difference. Today your earning capacity is slightly more with the BM gold rewards here and there and with picking up no cost components via play. But look at what you earn today and what it buys you. A kumi is about 26k, a bulgi 28k and a haechi 32k. With RM a Lancelot was around $40 odd and now in US $ a haechi 220. Tempest was a weapon that survived from that era. Jumped from $20 to $100. Ha ha, your earnings went from 1000 to 1100. You can quibble about the numbers but the truth is v close to what's above. Collect a haechi in 3 months? Awesome, free haechi. But 6 months ago you would have already earned close to 3 lancelots. Or maybe 2 lances and 2 galas. A meta hanger! Then upgrade them and job is done. Now you have to go on a second round of upgrades. This is like you had a job paying 100k and the CPI rose by 500% (that's about the CPI in WRs). Then you go to your boss and ask for a pay rise to keep your real income at the same level. Than he says, here you go bud, I will give you a 6 pack beer every day and you can spin for another case and if lucky you get it. Then you walk away with your extra bear and the extra 6 pack that you won on a spin wheel that he gave you free keys to spin just for turning up to work. A person who thinks is getting a good deal is nothing but a fool. That's War Robots today and that is the exonoic tourney we are on. PS: some mentioned previously but I am sort of very suspicious now that silver earnings have been nerfed. Now we will get it back in the supply drops. Ha ha. We will get 25% of it back. Also makes sense in the light of the "free" premiums we are getting from the spin wheels. But even that seems to be coming to an end with the intro of Jessie's and zeuses into the mix. This is the sort of stuff that will happen with the monthly supply drops. KumI first than something like a Zeus. Edit: most are so busy looking at the supposed free stuff, red carrot collection mechanisms and how to win with the gambling mechanisms that most don't realise the hyper inflation that just took place. What a distraction. We are talking about which chest to open and Pix is laughing their heads off as they got away with inflating prices by about 5 times.

Free stuff in the game is only good for attracting emotionally unstable players (gamblers and kids). You “income” will be 100% in hands of Pix, and they replaced rewards and hard currency with random mystical chests for a reason. The reason is to be able to manipulate every player to keep them relatively happy but give the least amount of stuff. Remember, daily gold income is going to drop (they are removing at least one daily gold task, maybe even both), battle silver payout is reduced, while “free 12h premium spin” is no more. I spun six roulettes today and got 9h premium once. And replacing earnable, fixed price income in hard currency with “chests” is just the way to say: “now we decide what are you going to get, and when”. It is “economics removed”, disguised as an “overhaul”. Would you agree to work for “chest”, which contains “reasonable amount of money”, which will depend on your performance, without knowing rates in advance? And if you think it is not a job - think again. You spend your time pleasing paying customers, and then you get “something” completely random. P.s please, do start arguing that it will NOT be completely random. But first, explain to me how after battle silver payout is not random.
