I'm thinking of creating a support mech setup for the upcoming patched TDM mode.
Is it hydra fuijin, spydra Griffin, treb/gecko natasha, zeus carnage, etc?
Thanks for the help!

Support? Easily none of the bots you mentioned.
Multiple Punishers on a dash or griffin for ancile stripping... temptest zeus/natty... rdb anything etc

So many choices.
Here are some builds I personally use and rotate between on a few different accounts:
Lately, I have been really enjoying Tempest builds for support.
Listed in order of preference: Tempest Fury Tempest Carny Tempest Molot Natty Tempest Molot-T Lance Tempest Gekko Natty Tempest Molot Leo Tempest Gekko Leo Tempest Molot-t Molot Golem (preferably a Mk2 Golem since they are so cheap but at least a level 12... it takes no time and very little Ag to do this... so why not if you ARE going to use it later on? If not, then whatever level is fine as long as the weapons are high and you stay back.)
If you don't have a Tempest yet want to play Traffic cop, still, then I would run either Rhino or Griff with Molot-Ts and Molots.
Otherwise, if not wanting to do Molots... I would go Zeus Fury or Zeus Carnage next.
Then either Tulu Doc or RDB Griff (or another RDB weapon build)
Zeus Gekko Leo is powerful at 600m too... plus very good at long range... a versatile support bot.
I am still working out what I want to do with Scourges... MR or SR build. They do SO much damage up close... but if grouped in 3s, or even 2 with the right complimentary weapon, they are decent MR options...
IMO, YMMV

Oh shoot, I didn't even realise that TDM was coming back in 3.5 until you mentioned it. I was like: what the heck is this guy talking about? TDM is gone. I just check my 3.5 update thread, looked at the link again and saw TDM listed for 3.5. Well, that's good because I actually liked TDM during the Halloween event, it was immersive and fast-paced. Thanks for the heads up. Edit: getting tired of beacons thanks to the chores from the 1st task chain.

With the current meta of dashy and ancile bots, I had luck with the Zues Gekko Natasha. Like the Golem it is a cheap and quick bot to upgrade.

I would go for a CQC hanger now because they removed sniper maps IIRC. Get up close and personal with the enemy bot.

In general terms, the order of preference for me would be Shocktrain anything followed by Tempest anything followed by Zeus anything followed by scourge or punishers. My support bots are tempest carnage and shocktrain hover.

My vote is for the tempest/molot Natty. Leveled up, those tempests deal some hefty damage. Might not get a lot of kills, but targeting reds that are already engaged softens them up nicely for your hopefully grateful teammates.

Overall the best support set up I’ve found is the weapons of
Target Selection - paying attention to the more deadly threats to your team (such as Zeus or Shocktrain), and eliminating them with:
Accurate Aiming - so that you hit the target within your range instead of terrain or empty space.
If you don’t have these two weapons, all the MR-LR weapon systems are not supportive

If you wanna support me in a game. Be by my side while we take beacons. I dont want or need a range guy to back me up. I need a brawler to go 2 on 1 with me on a Red. Thats the best help (and the highest risk) you can give me... Just sayin..

Of course, what we really prolly need is therapy. The support that gives us perspective and understanding to be able to accept that Pix is now into... shall we say, nefarious?, acts of forcefully taking what they want even if we say "NO!" very loudly... is what we need. Help us through this time of revelation so that we may see the man behind the curtain for what he is... Amen. Or a Bra or Jockstrap... depending on your gender, good support there, as well. Well, off to Lunch! (Waves)

Yes, that mindset should be the same for everyone on your team, always go in a pair with a teammate (2 is better than 1) and both have CQC weapons, so while you're reloading, your teammate can cover you and both can focus fire on 1 robot. Also, your teammates are a bunch of strangers too who don't listen and there is no way to communicate or ping where to go because there is no map in the game.

Im mid gold. Doc is a great support/assault bot. I have mine on tulu/storm. Tempest Carnage can also perform this dual role. As can zeus/taran boa. For strictly mid support, tulu doc, shocktrain rog, aphid jesse mk2, tulu or punisher hover. Funny thing though, i run all of these except tempest carnage (still building), but usually end up 1st or 3rd in damage.

I currently have a Leo that has a Temp and Molots... Kinda fun watching shields drop and then the health going down.. just sucks sometimes your team doesnt pay attention to the shields..

I really like my zeus carnage for support, but I am generally biased against slow bots (it is by far the slowest bot in my hangar, in D1).
Three of my other bots wear Orkans, but
I like the Zarn as my 2nd or 3rd bot to slow things down on bigger maps where it is easier to mech out quickly trying to brawl without cover.
Plus, it is still kinda fast and is thus still reasonably usable for late matches.
Of course, Id love some kind of tempest build but I don't play enough to earn one and am not willing to pay those ridiculous prices for a single weapon.
