What’s the use of the doc in a dash bot era?
Where does this bot excel with 1 extra weapon, some extra hitponts and some question non dash speed advantage , at the expense of a cool down cycle?

If in Champion nothing but Dash will do... on paper.
I run my Doc on a couple of accounts and love it. 4 Orkans is deadly. 4 Tulus is damned good to have at 500m. It is faster than a Gala... cooldown isn't that long if you take into account weapon reloads and hiding in cover. I play mine like a hit and run fighter or as a flanker in a 2 or 3 bot team.
Like I said, though, I like mine. Maybe I just find a way to make it work.

I also feel like the Kumiho is the best overall Dash bot for higher skill players - but it does require a lot more skill to fully utilize. The Haechi is certainly the most overpowered bot currently, but other things can still be effective. I've never had the good fortune of owning a Doc, but I imagine it would be pretty deadly still in the right hands.

I agree with those ??two. The usefulness and combat longevity of this mech will depend largely on your situational awareness. I also learned a very valuable lesson when I got an Inquisitor:
If you start with longer ranged weapons, it will give you some breathing space to get familiar with piloting your mech. As you become more skilled at LR-MR combat on all maps, you may find yourself getting closer to brawling territory. When you are comfortable with that, try CQC weapons.
Try:
Quad Tulumbas, Shocktrain Tulumba, Quad Hydra, Scourge Hydra, Quad Punisher, Quad Molot and so on. There are peculiar specs to each of these builds on Doc as you need to assess the ratios of weapon reload and quick-draw cooldown.
Orkan Doc is ruthless, and I’ve also seen Storm Orkan Doc run like a Thunder Orkan Lance, takin down Ancile with Storm then finishing the job with Orkans. To be effective with close range weapons though, you have to be very aware of the reds locations and load-outs. Doc is somewhat handicapped when it comes to evading rockets so you have to account for that with your position in relation to reds.
The short answer to your question is yes, it is effective, and above all, Doc is fun to pilot!

I’m debating running a haechi shock train or a doc shocktrain.
I used to run shock train tulu, but I found that 2 tulu does nothing in champion because everything dangerous to you has shields.
When I did the hypothetical max damage thing with shock trains, it’s occurred to me it’s only slightly more effective than a haechi. The doc lacks the durability of a haechi as well.
I enjoy the uniqueness of the doc but I’m finding it very challenging to run in champion now with the mm changes.
I’ve never been a fan of doc orkan, because while yes it can deal the beats in theory, the situation rarely allows for sustainable fire of 2 orkan salvos

I am solidly in Expert 3 and utilize a combo of 11-Punisher>11-Orkan n a 10-Doc in my First (Main) 5-Spor Deck where it has earned its spot and is optimally used as a 3rd or later Drop.
My Doc is best when working with one or two other units in a battle that has yet to tip one way or another. Many times, it has help turn the tide in favor of the allies. The 300-400m range of the Punishers are decent when working with another
There is a bit of a surprise factor with The Wild Bunch...usually, when engaging with Punishers, youroppobent seemsvto think thats your #1 weapon and may feel like you are an easy target until you switch weapons and in my case, the Orkans seem to deliver a death-blow surprise punch.
