I don't really get the cynicism by the youtuber, after all, we all have to get paid, but the rest of the video is interesting

I got it because of an add I saw on Real Racing 3 to receive some gold to watch ads. It was a cool add.

Yeah, shows the rapid expansion of the user base....probably starting blowing up the old MM with the higher numbers of users and we certainly felt the server issues as well.
No surprise that Pixo wanted to earn more money - the return is really good on their ad investment. Plus all these videos that they are cranking out are really helping bring the game to life.
Cheers!

This should not be a surprise to anyone. Games even free to play ones are not a charity, they are ALL designed to make money.
So far Pixonic has been careful to encourage spending without tipping the scales too far into a pay to win scenario that has hurt the reputation of some other games. As long as this continues I like it, they deserve a pay check for their work.

I roll my eyes whenever I hear the words "cash grab," because it reveals more cynicism than business savvy on the part of the utterer. I saw this video yesterday and found it dumb. The narrator makes it sound like he's unearthed some treasure in Al Capone's vaults here, but a business using FB to increase brand awareness and business isn't exactly Grassy Knoll kinda stuff. Since we're mentioning it, I came to War Robots by seeing ads for it in a different game. Haven't played that game since.

An add in a free to play pvp game known as pixelgun 3d, went to war robots, haven't be back there since.
