Well, you see, we've recently gotten an influx of sockpuppetting from some dude we banned a while back, who has returned for his revenge *dun dun dun*, as such, we've installed some countermeasures to try to reduce the amount of inappropriate posts that he tries to upload, unfortunately, because of that guy, some legitimate/innocent posters are also caught in it, we're sorry about that.
Now to your question, ranks are based on post count, you either had yours reset for whatever reason or an angry thanksgiving turkey gobbled them away. Regardless, ranks mean nothing more than something cool to look at.

They answered it, it sucks but its all they can do atm
And yeah I used to be a cossack (high rank I know) but when they re did the system I went back to a recruit. Although I thought base rank was originally destrier

Cossacks with Tulumbas have laid the hammer down on quite a few surprised Heavys as I am grabbing a beacon. Most fun I have in the game. : )
