There are currently three weapons in the horizon, two of which could be cause for worry (one significantly more than the other).
I'll start with the one that causes no worry, or much of anything really - the Vortex. The Aphid's cousin (and uncle, probably). On paper this weapon looks like a good medium pairing with the Aphid. On the field, it's performance can hardly even keep up with its little cousin/nephew. It's pretty unimpressive all around. Accuracy is extremely low, and damage even when all 8 rockets land home doesn't make up for it.
The little bugger that might cause some big problems... the gust. Contrary to the Vortex, this little guy doesn't look all that impressive on paper. I think this guy's conception was a little less like sibling foreplay and more like an Orc smashing parts with an elf. The result: a small guy with a lot of accuracy that packs a hell of a lot of power. I played a couple games with three of these on a Gepard and this thing wrecks faces. It'll make light bots scary again in most leagues. Seriously, this Gep was tearing down Raining, Leos, Lances in a matter of seconds. Considering not many meta bots have light points, I think this little OP light weapon will actually add more variety to the game, but it will upset balance in lower league play where light bots and weapons are more prevalent.
Now.. the ironically named Redeemer. Let me tell you, this redeems nothing, unless they're making it available to everyone. This thing puts the Ember to shame. It deals similar damage to the Ember, but it deals it in instant bursts that don't have to be aimed. The Ember is crazy powerful, don't get me wrong. But the Ember at least has to be aimed. This gives it a learning curve and a skill requirement, and also leaves room for error. We'll err no more, because your lack of skill will always be redeemed by auto aim! "You" in the figurative sense, not actually you, the reader - calm down. The good? This weapon is a direct and immediate counter to Dash bots. The Bulgasari is the only dash that stands a chance against it. The bad? Welcome back Fury! It seems like just yesterday we were all complaining about you touting around three Tridents. Actually, new players probably just read that and thought, "what the firetruck is a trident?" The worse? This is a direct counter to dash bots. Pixonic has all but confirmed they will have at least two dash bots in the event tasks this month. Meaning F2P players finally have a legitimate chance at getting some Dash bots. And shortly after, they will release a true dash killer. If this weapon comes out at a crazy price point like the Ember, then it is once again Pixonic catering to the whales. You guys are mad that everyone has a Dash now, well here's a weapon that obliterates them, and only you can get them.
They may surprise us and make the new content affordable, but if recent history tells us anything, it's that the very unimpressive content is released at a medium to high price point, and the powerful stuff you actually want is priced at an outrageous price point. If they continue the course, F2P players are still in for a rough beating for the foreseeable future.

I think Gust is cool. Redeemer is interesting. Vortex seems poorly executed. Only time will determine how these impact the live server.

I was extremely underwhelmed by the redeemer. I don't know what OP is talking about about not having to aim, because you do. It works like a big, slow firing Taran. Gust is cool gun, crap name

If the Redeemer costs Ag, Au, or WSP, it’ll truly merit its name. If it can be blocked by physical shields, that’s new life breathed into Gareth, Galahad, and Rhino.
It’ll even be fine if it costs similar to the Storm. Those components are cheap and easily obtained. In four days I’m 30% toward having one built.
However if it costs what the Tempest, Ember, Inquisitor, etc. cost...nope. Game-killer. Another one.

Gust is cool gun, crap name I was comparing it to the aiming of an Ember, which has to be more precise and shots have to be led(similar to Orkans). Clearly you can't aim 50m right and still hit your target like with the scourge or shock train, but you don't have to aim precise. You just have to keep your target in front of you. Mind you, there were people that said the Ember was underwhelming on the test server too. And people that said the Shocktrain was insignificant. I tried telling people then, and I'm trying to tell people now. Equipment at level 8 is not a good representation of how they will perform on live server, but it is enough to pick up on the signs of game breakers.

The Redeemer is brutal even at L8, I don't want to know how will it be at L12 Mk2

There is just the first game this afternoon. Used a Redeemer Carnage, Redeemer Fury, and then a Redeemer Taran Lance. Didn't need the other two, which were another Redeemer Carnage and Redeemer Fury. This weapon is insanely overpowered. Most reds don't last a full Salvo unless I miss.

I think hope pray that Pixonic will realize how strong the Redeemer is.
But this might be planned, it might be their next 150 dollar weapon. And to everyone who bought the Ember... lol.

Agree with most of the various points. Had some gusts with a thunder on a Leo and it was tearing stuff apart. Went head to head with a redeemer carnage and came out on top. I think it’s good though, gives a lot of old meta bots more options.
Redeemer is as the OP says, heavy Taran, powerful, blue, makes a nice noise. Lots of folk running them on fury’s , while they had the damage output they were squishy builds, didn’t last long. Carnage was a bit longer lasting, but Taran Redeemer Lances were ruling the roost, they would really be dash killers.
Vortex, as has been said only marginally better than an Aphid, but to be honest I think that is a good thing. If it was as strong as an aphid proportionatly, they would start appearing on Haechi’s and they would wreak havoc with them. As they are it would mean you could run them on a Griffin as a slightly stronger more versatile aphid Patton and in the hands of a good pilot have a better hope of holding ground to some of the new stuff.
Biggest thing for me was the new TDM, I think this version will run as originally intended, with the spawn points and all the cover, it certainly won’t be a camper fest.

Switched to five redeemer/Taran lances and played two games. 1.1m damage and 1.2m damage. Similar damage output by the rest of the field. And keep in mind, people figured this out and most of the other bots on the field are some version of a Lancelot. So the actual damage dealt is well over 2mil. It's powerful enough that a single Salvo breaks through any shield (even Raijin), and the second Salvo is taking health away. This this is absolutely ridiculous.

Redeemer is a welcome addition particularly for a Lance and Carnage. At the moment it is already quite powerful at L8. In my TS report I’m recommending this weapons damage be nerfed.
Triple Redeemer Fury is deadly in TS, but the reality if it went live is no different than how ineffective a triple Thunder Fury is. Sure it packs a punch, but it has very little combat longevity and is easily taken out.

Agree with you about vortex but my big caveat there is that I don't use aphids so I am probably not best test pilot on that. Gust is interesting. What range were you using it. My first couple of tests with a gust gep resulted in me getting shredded compared with performance of redeemer.

The Lance is proving to be the best carrier for it. Four games so far I haven't gotten below 1.1m, and last one was 1.3m. Those are crazy numbers for maxed equipment, and this is at level 8. Doing a quick calculation just based on increased damage and enemy HP, it would be a 2.34m average damage per game at Mk I level 2. At max Mk I (assuming the reds are not also Mk II, it works out to 2.81m damage per game). And with it equipped on the Lance it's literally just a "find red, point, shoot" build. It requires very little strategy.

cmdrperalta I was engaging in very close range with the Gusts on light bots. As soon as I was spotted I died. The Gust is effective, given there are no Redeemer on the field. The Redeemer is the most game breaking thing I've ever seen, test or live.

Have you forgotten the fact Fury is taken out by tons of other weapons and robots all the time in live combat? TS also doesn’t have Ember Inquisitor, Dash, or Shocktrain. And, I have already taken out the triple Redeemer Fury in TS with other weapons.
