I played around a little with the new weapons on the test server earlier, I actually like them! And I hope they'll be affordable when they make it into the Last Stand, they're not insanely overpowered Yet. So first one, is the Vortex: You've probably heard of it earlier, it's a medium slot Aphid, with more damage and accuracy, it has a different missile colors and sound effects that makes it different from the actual Aphid. I didn't test how accurate it is yet, but it doesn't miss much, and of course it's a great fit for the Griffin with two Aphids. Now don't start saying it's OP and cry while wishing the Aphid may rest in peace, it's medium weapon and it has to be better than a light one! Stats: Damage 19620 (level 8) Reload time 10 secs Range 350m Second one is the Redeemer: This new weapon is a heavy Taran with blue plasma! shoots the same way as the Taran, has the same range but does more damage, and it shoots slower than the Taran, a burst every two seconds I think. I believe it'll be great on Lancelot when it's paired with Tarans, or a Carnage, which I used and did pretty well with. It doesn't ignore physical shields like the Ember so it might be a cheaper variant. The only thing I don't like about it is the design, looks like it's made of plastic. Stats: Damage 15920 (a single burst at level 8) Reload time 5 secs Range 350m And finally the Gust: It might be obvious if you look at it's design, it's a light slot Thunder, it fires fast like a Magnum but it reloads a shell every 1 second, so it has a reload time. It does a small amount of damage so I think it needs a damage boost to compete with the Mag. I'm glad we will finally get a light weapon after ages! I'm also glad they're finally giving us short range weapons, after many weapons that have +500m range, they might be actually listening to us, who knows. I hope all these weapons will be affordable by most of us because it sucks that we can't use any of the new weapons unless we drop some cash. The test server of this weekend also had some other changes, like the extra covers and the new damage indicator. They're also asking what maps need covers on TDM and what don't, voted for more covers on SF, Yam and SZ. Thanks for reading!

I love variety as long as it isn't a game changer. These weapons seem like a good start.

I managed to take down Raijins, Leos, Lancelots, etc. with it. I would use it in Expert for fun. Enjoyed running circles around everyone and using opponents as human shields while I pounded away

Thanks for the heads up Psycho! Gust is nice and may actually give the patton and gepard another day in the sun. Hoping it pairs well with storm. Gareth, Galahad, Rhino, Griffin actually get a new dimension to play as well with Storm/gust and Vaphid combos. I know a few pilots who would be stoked with a mag/taran/redeemer combo on their mk2 golems. Gusts were gold on the test server. Not OP, but four on a Patton gives you possibilities. Like 1vs1-ing an Orkancilot and emerging victorious. Bucket list moment riiiight there... I also caught a an Orkan Doc off guard with a Gust Gep. It was like he died by piranha. Feeling confident, I stalked a Tharnage. He wasnt impressed and I got 「grape」. I found the Rog to be an awesome Vortex carrier. Annoying as hell and quite effective. Specially in moon. Got four mechs just popping and shooting. I actually had a waltz come up on my playlist as I was gutting those poor mechs. It was beautiful. (Sniff). Galahad was another star player with the vortex/aphids. Having its loadout to one side means you can fire off a full salvo while being concealed and in cover and it can do so through the narrowest of gaps. (Targetting bug not whitstanding). Redeemers are a weapon to fear, specially in multiples. My Doc got fragged by a triple redeemer fury in two salvos. Be afraid. Kbots too.

The redeemer will be another game breaking release if it doesn't get nerfed significantly. People might not care though, because it is a direct counter to Dash bots. This weapon turns the Fury into one of the most feared brawlers in the game.
While it is a counter to the dash bots, I wouldn't rejoice. Since it is so powerful, it's likely to fall under that $100 price point so you won't get any soon. They're also getting ready to give away a ton of dash bots in the Christmas event as a task prize, so this is essentially giving the whales a counter to the F2P players that will soon have their Dashes.
Again, much of that depends on price point and further development and adjusting. Hopefully they don't disappoint again.

This weapon turns the Fury into one of the most feared brawlers in the game. How is it more powerful than Ember, or how will it break the game any more than Ember already does? (Which is very little, because it doesn't fit on Dashes... but looking at the current trend, medium version is only a matter of time.)

(Which is very little, because it doesn't fit on Dashes... but looking at the current trend, medium version is only a matter of time.) It kills faster than Embers. And unlike the Ember, this doesn't really have to be aimed. Embers have a delay from when you shoot to when it hits, so you have to telegraph your target. This aims like a Taran, so just point in the general direction and shoot. The only advantage the Ember has over this weapon currently is that Ember penetrates all shields.

Yeah, I liked it more that way. Seemed more realistic too. The only thing you can rely on is for a player to have difficulty aiming at you when you're that near to them. I know I do sometimes when I'm on the receiving end, especially w/ weapons that need to be locked on to a target.

The Redeemer has a long delay between each burst, it can shoot for a shorter time than the Ember as it has a smaller clip size/energy capacity, plus, using it on a Fury might not be a thing because the Fury doesn't have much of protection around all the plasma and Orkans, even a Raijin with it's shield and more HP still having a hard time surviving. But I think that weapon actually needs a damage nerf, it's been doing a lot of damage despite being level 8, will see how it'll be in the next TS, It's too early to hate it.
