EDIT3: there seems no consistency among robots. Galahad obviously receive half the damage ( also tested by GuitarGuy), perhaps the same to Gareth (not tested/confirmed). on the other hand, Rhino shield can completely block ( video evidence). others say Lance can block it, too. bugdoc reported seeing inconsistent results with Lance and also for Bulgasari the shocktrain actually appeared to chain between the shield and the bot. I suggested an experiment to test the theory (in EDIT2) for Galahad's case, for anyone curious and interested. I also reported it to Pix and received this quite helpful response from the "War Robots support team", which made me worrying (even more than before) about the company. meanwhile, SuperHero confirmed that Pix admitted this is a bug and they are going to fix it on 3.5, so we will see. Thanks! ... ... EDIT2: a theory explaining why my Galahad received exactly the half of the damage: the Shoktrucks considered the shield as the FIRST target, and after hitting the shieled it CHAINED to the main body of the Galahad as the SECOND target. hence the damage was reduced by 50%. the shield should have received full damage, but the Galahad shield, 176K at level 10, can stand the first two blasts. see below replies for detailed analysis. ... ... EDIT: after consulting GuitarGuy and analyzing the video, I conclude that Shocktrucks does exactly half and half damages to the physical shield and the bot (at least for a Galahad). please see the replies below for further detail. ... ... I kind of know that they go through physical shields and keep chaining, rather than bouncing off. but I thought at least they do damage to the shield only and not to the main body when squarely hitting the shield. just now I found a Shocktruck user and decided to push him/her with my Galahad, and see these screenshots:     in all three occassions I blocked it properly with my shield, but got damaged anyway. so Shocktruck was not an energy weapon? is it something like Ember with 500m range and chaining, ignoring all shields? did everyone already know this? |

I think it's a bug or something, Gala and Gary shield do not block it. Some other shields do.

I think it's a bug or something, Gala and Gary shield do not block it. Some other shields do. reported to Pix. I hope it’s a bug, otherwise what’s the point of building a second hangar for harassing campers (including especially Shocktrucks),  EDIT: by the way, we won this battle. it always feels good winning against ShocktrainMk2 carriers  |

I dont know of any shield that can block it forever. Also,my stuff is maxed so that maybe part of it. I would imagine if a maxed shock train shot say a level 8 shield of any type it would do damage on the first hit.

I did some analysis: these are what the first two shots did: timestamp 8:25 - cutting the HP by 93,230 - 65,330 = 27,900 (9,300 per Shocktrain) timestamp 8:16 - cutting the HP by 49,890 - 21,990 = 27,900 (9,300 per Shocktrain) the red has time to fully charge after the first shot, if it takes 8 seconds (according to wiki, never used one). so, it appears that both were fully-charged and did the exactly same damages. and it was level12 Mk2, one shocktrain supposed to do: 3,100/charge (according to wiki) x 5 charges (full, according to wiki) x 1.2 (being Mk2) = 18,600 so it does exactly half the damage to the main body, regardless of the shield was fresh or not (mine was fresh at the time of first engagement). a Galahad has more HP in its shield than the body, so it's safe to assume that Shocktrucks does exactly half and half damages to the physical shield and the bot. |

With Shocktrains, instead, there is a different problem: some shields (Lancelot and Bulgasari) can properly block it until they break, while others can't even if they're not broken (Galahad, Gareth, Rhino). The Shocktrain can go THROUGH them. It's a bug that will be fixed with 3.5, I think. |

Haha, I just posted this exact thing. I can confirm it's happened to my Plasmahad numerous times, and no it's not the rebound. I also can verify that it's not partial damage from my shield being blown off. Even after the hits, my shield is still there.
Pix is just pushing buggy crap out to maximize $$$$$.

I just noticed. The shocktrain that hit you is MKII. look at the bottom of your pics. If it was maxed MKII that would explain it. Even a maxed level 12 Galahad is gonna take damage on the first hit with MKII stuff over level 11.
I have a guy in my clan with maxed MKII shock trains. If he is around tonight I will ask him to run a test game with me. I have a regular max galahad and I will have him shoot the shield in a controlled test and see if I get damage on the first hit. My guess is yes.

Physical shields do block it, but there is no sense and rhyme to the reason. Raijin shield deployed does block it, same with Lancelot frontal shields. So a Raijin Zeus can counter the annoying pest without incurring any damage. Plus use the 30%+ bonus when in Bastion mode, that I forgot about. I will have to run a Zeus Raijin in my smurf account, but I have a Level 1 Raijin from the Halloween event in my main, that I bring out from time to time.
You would think the huge armour plating of the Raijin would be a benefit, but I don't see many Raijins around to counter the Shocktrains. Zeus has a 1s long unload time, contrarily to popular belief it is NOT 0s or Zer0 second! I 'recking it mighty good enuf to roast me some Habachi grills.

This is exactly why we have such a hard time explaining to Diamond League and lower pilots that a Rajin is worthless in the upper levels. They dont believe it because in the lower levels it IS tough, but once you get into maxed weapons, even a maxed shield on a Rajin or many other bots for that matter will simply break under the stress of such strong levels.

They dont believe it because in the lower levels it IS tough, but once you get into maxed weapons, even a maxed shield on a Rajin or many other bots for that matter will simply break under the stress of such strong levels. they were Mk2 max (I checked the pilot’s stat afterward) and please check my reply to your post above where I did the actual numbers. in short, one Mk2 max Shocktrain full charge will do 18.6K damage. and blocking the blast with shield (fresh, level 10), the main body of the Galahad took exactly the half damage, 9.3K per Shocktruck (27.9K total). the damage to Galahad’s HP was exactly the same, 9.3K per Shocktruck, for the first and second hit. so it doesn’t matter whether the shield was fresh or half broken, and I assume the level of the Galahad does not matter either. The damage was distributed exactly half and half to the shield and main body, at least for Galahad, unlike other energy weapons which damaged only the shield until the shield break away. questions remained: 1. is this the same for all shielded robots? <- this I would appreciate if you guys could test does Lance, Raijin, Gareth, and Rhino do the same of differently? 2. is this true for Shocktrains of all levels, or a special secret feature of Mk2? 3. is this a bug or as intended? |

This is really interesting. I bet that your theory is correct. To prove it, we need to test it! We can do a custom match, 2 vs 1 (a Galahad and another bot vs a Shocktrain Haechi). The Shocktrain Haechi should fire at the Galahad as the primary target, with the third player near to the Galahad in order to let the ST chain. IF the third player takes half the damage the Galahad receives, it's because it is registered like the third target [first target: Galahad shield; second target: Galahad body (50% of the first hit); third target: third player (50% of the second hit)]. If your theory is not correct, the third bot should receive the same damage of the Galahad body. Hope I've been clear enough, English is not my mother tongue! EDIT: I don't know why but your previous message didn't show up. If it was like you said, the shield would be broken before you die because the Galahad's shield has less than double the HP of the main body...it's probably more complicated than we tought. |

In my experience, the Lancelot can adsorb ALL the damage with its shield (until it breaks, of course). I take 0 damage from Shocktrains if I take the shot on the shield, and I'm almost 100% sure because I run an Ancilot against those beasts everyday! if that is the case, there is an inconsistency among bots and my “theory” does not hold for all shields. but I think this might have been introduced with the most recent update, where they cut the chain damage to 50%. they may have changed some mechanisms how to deal with shield. so have you blocked Shocktrains without damage after the 3.4.1? just wanted to make sure. and yeah, the idea of four targets within a bot was a bit crazy I just wanted to build a theory that can explain others’ reports about Lance and Raijin shields can block, while Gal’s and Gareth’s cannot. |

I checked this in Custom awhile back. Shocktrain goes through Galahad, Gareth, and ECU. It can be blocked by Lancelot, Raijin, and Rhino.
But during play, it seem to sometimes go through Lancelot shield. This must be the bounce effect you guys are talking about.
I’m not aware of partial damage. I didn’t take note of that.
The Shocktrain doesn’t make any sense. That’s why I hate it so much.

Just faced shocktrucks in last battle. Both my galahad and my lance deflected the bolt. Neither took damage but it did transfer on to the next bot.
As a side note I just discovered that if you lock on to a stalker with scourge before he goes stealth the scourge continues to target him. Need to test this on the inquisitors

Just faced shocktrucks in last battle. Both my galahad and my lance deflected the bolt. Neither took damage but it did transfer on to the next bot. ... that is different from what I experienced. hmm. do you remember the angle of the Shocktrain blast and the level of the Shocktrains? here is the videoclip of what happened earlier today. did they changed it secretly in half a day? link to the video (720p) |

It appeared to be a straight frontal hit on galahad. It was on Shenzhen. My galahad has a scourge and two gekkos. I was on the right side of our spawn firing at the opposing reds between buildings and I got hit by the shocker. Had to be frontal as there were no flanks exposed. There was a fury next to me that unfortunately took the first chain and RiP fury. Sorry bro. My galahad was full health before and remained so. The fury was behind cover.

Watched your video thinking maybe he got a lucky bit around your shield and no. Those were 2 direct shield hits. It shouldn't be able to work like that. Shields should deflect it like any other energy weapon...except ember for obvious reasons. That's a glitch that pic needs to fix. I don't have video of my encounter but I do remember getting hit and I did look to see if it did damage and I was still full health. Not a big fan of these new weapons so far. They aren't predictable at all

This is the laziest and the cheapest form art of service predatory hunting down whales just to see the profits margin spike up. |

So I ran a test but the video is too big to post. Yes, shocktrains that we’re mkii 11 did damage the shield of a non mkii maxed Galahad on the first hit, direct to the shield. About 40k worth with 3 of them on haechi.
It did not chain to the shield. In the video it just took direct damage.

In the video it just took direct damage. thanks! you can upload the video to youtube, it can accept quite large files. if you are too busy but can somehow send the video file to me, I can do that, too. anyways do you mean Shocktrains did damage the shield only, or shield and also the main body (i,e, did the Galahad HP reduced by the hit)? 40k damage was done on the Galahad body? or the shield? or do you mean it chained to 3 Haechies afterward, doing total about 40k damage? |

Haha, I just posted this exact thing. I can confirm it's happened to my Plasmahad numerous times, and no it's not the rebound. I also can verify that it's not partial damage from my shield being blown off. Even after the hits, my shield is still there. Pix is just pushing buggy crap out to maximize $$$$$. reported ... let’s see, Today, I have this message from Pix. Looks like it was a waste of time :/ before if I report a glitch, they at least let the “Dev team” or “QA team” known... oh well,  |
