As long as I can remember in my 1,5 years of playing this game, there was always complaint whenever a new change/meta occured - might it be the MM-change (which made hordes of tri-mag-geps obsolet, can someone remember?), the dominance of fury tridents, the upcoming of the britbots, the league system... after a while people got used to it and/or found effective countermeasures. Admittedly the difference this time is the upcoming of changes in cery short intervals - new bots, new weapons, new maps, new upgrade level, new currency, new hangars just in one mounth... much more than ever before, much more rebalancing the game, much more confusing, much more harder to adapt than before. And it became undeniable evident that some players were able to adopt to this new meta very fast, from the first day on, by simply buying the new gear, max it to the new MK2 level, and crush the other folks to dust. This is nothing new, the same happened everytime before whenever the meta changed... the same people might have crushed you before with their hangars full of rhinos, or their mag geps, or TT furies, or lancelots... all of these formerly OP hangars now catching dust somewhere. Or maybe they got bored of slaying underequipped folks or were frustrated to not be able to keep up with the next meta and rage quitted the game for good. This time the costs to get a up-to-date meta were quite higher than before, but nethertheless the so-called whales paid the price.
The lesson out of this could be:
"Unless you dont care about money and and can afford it to buy a up-to-date meta hangar every 6 mounth, dont try to compete or be angry with the players who do so."
But ask yourself instead:
"What does this game mean to me? If its for entertainment, do I get entertained? If I want to compete at highest level, will I be able to pay the price in money and perhaps even more importantly, life-time? If I am frustrated or feeling not able to hold my ground against my peers, why do I still lingering around in the game or the forum and not find something more enjoyable?"
As for me, the whole hype about pay-to-win is settling down. I can still enjoy the game without spending more than 10$/mounth for premium. I bet that War Robots will survive.
And thanks a lot for the complainers! You might be oversensitive and emotional, but your protests might have avoided the game to become really hopelessly p2w. And also thanks to Pixonic to having us not get too comfortable.
