Pixonic is planning on an inbox feature for 2.6. With it, they will be able to update the player on news, updates, and hand out gifts.
Pixonic is also planning on a website for more in-depth news. It is scheduled for June.
Reverting to the old mm is possible for pix, but it is much more likely that they will iron out the new mm rather than revert back to the old mm. Apparently, the new mm is much better suited to maintenance and a better foundation for further improvements. Due to this, more major changes to the mm can be expected.
The upcoming league system seems that it will function similarly to the old tiers system in that players of similar mm rating will fight each other in them with cross-tier/league travel being relatively unlikely. However, the new mm is based on performance rather than hangar level, which is what the league system will be using, rather than hangar levels like the old tiers system.
There are no adjustments for squads/platoons in the new mm. Currently, the MM starts looking for opponents around the player with the highest MM rating and gradually increases the range if it cannot find a suitable target.
And please use the comments sections for questions about clarification and clarification only. If what happened on the other thread happens again, then news threads will be locked from the get-go.

I hope that the old matchmaking was reverted, except the highest level weapon is the tier you play in.
I played 50+ matches since the MM change, and War Robots is not fun. Everything is about about Tridents, Tulumbas and Pins and Aphids. There was no battle where I did not see a top tier player with less than an 80% win. My average damage dropped from 550K in Low Gold which was exceptionally good, to 420K and dropping. Win rate went from 78% -> 48%. I feel like I am playing to lose. When ever there is a win, I barely contribute, because I get eaten alive by midrange and aphids before I can either get to the enemy. Just had the worst round where the entire enemy team was in trident furies and aphid carriers, where I received a silver 'reward' of -56K. Comparing this to clubbing; I would rather fight clubbers in Thunder Schlutze then TT players in a Plasma Galahad.
Pixonic should work to fix their current problem instead of introducing more junk that we don't really need.

I haven't had the same problem as everyone else, yet. i'm still undefeated today, and i've had fun taking some people out, but I have seen some 12/12 TT players with low win rates, and they weren't too impressive honestly. they were matched with my 6/8 hangar because their skills level puts them in a match with me. I have been luckily placed on the winning side in some matches, but I think we'll have to give it a little time and learn to manipulate the new MM like we did the last one.
but I'd also like to know if they are going to nerf midrange or not, its pissing me off that tridents and tulus can taken out my galahad before i even get in range

I'll just say this.
I didnt know the MM hit android today until hours after playing 17-20 matches. Had some frustrating battles, left me wondering? But the system did not lag! I did not see an increase in pilots leaving early!
Ive played less than a year, and this is rework of entire competition structure. I dont think having to play a few days/week to improve competition is to much of a burden.
*Today I had new Max Damage, & defeated REACTOR from Iron Smiles a 12/12 max!! I run 6/8-9 heavys.
Im looking for the positive!

And I will be getting the $10 I spent back. Especially after the gepard nerf, now this.
I've just started playing this game. There's no way in hell that I could even come close to being able to have bots to compete with the 「dookie」 this new MM is putting me against and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and be punished for being a decent pilot!

I'm getting put in with leos, natashas, griffins, fujins, raijins, and all manner of high level weapons including WSP weapons to go with all those WSP bots. I am done with this game if this is the direction it's going. And I will be getting the $10 I spent back. Especially after the gepard nerf, now this. I've just started playing this game. There's no way in hell that I could even come close to being able to have bots to compete with the ?poo-poo? this new MM is putting me against and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and be punished for being a decent pilot! You'll have to give the new match maker time to figure out what league you belong in. It may take a week or so but your matches will even back out so that you're not thrown in matches where you're just blown out. My personal experience has shown that my matches are actually very evenly matched at this point even right down to dmg done on both sides so I say it's working. |

I have played probably 60 matches this week and the MM for me has definitely settled down. The hangar I am running is mostly 6/8 lights and a 4/6 medium (although playing with a boa here and there..a couple of these may find spots in my main hangar)). I am no longer seeing the TT competition. I am seeing a range but the matches feel really balanced to me now. I am having a blast even though my % has dropped from 70ish to 60 or so. It took a while for it to sort out for me, but it will like everyone keeps saying. Squads on the other hand are crazy. It was easier before to balance things out with hangar set up. I am looking forward to ppl cracking the performance rating black box so we know how to squad up within my clan. I lose a lot more in squad play which is the opposite of what it was. I guess i am on the wrong side of the bell curve, lol. |

Just a reminder for any who are looking to respond... there are threads a plenty that address the MM effects on your individual games... this is supposed to be for news from the Devs and clarification of that news, only. Please gripe in your own thread in the Rant section, or in an already established thread. I would very much like to keep this thread for direct comms like it is intended as that has been my only real complaint about the changes... not knowing what was really coming and when. I am not a Mod or anything, just a player who loves this forum and the info that it provides.
That said... along the lines of my reminder... Did I read that OP correctly? They are now saying that there WILL be leagues that correspond to ranges of Elo ratings?
Will there be more understanding of just how much hanger comes into play? The inability to play in bots that may not compete well at high levels is an often heard gripe, and I haven't seen official word on whether or not that will be possible.

One of the things that Pixo has mentioned in the past month have been custom matches (maps, challenges, objectives, squads as examples). In a future exchange, could Pixo provide any line of sight to when that could occur? This year?
Thank you for sharing the information - I'm holding out some hope that leagues will make matches and competition clearer so we can figure out the impact on clans and squads for balanced and interesting and consistent matches.

This sounds like they recognize that there are issues. Too bad they are mainly predictable issues that could've been solved in advance of the rollout if they had thought more carefully or engaged their player base in the discussion in a more meaningful way. This makes the league system mainly pointless - the only advantage I'd see is that you can differentiate the Au rewards between leagues (thus providing an ongoing incentive to progress). From a more practical perspective, if your MM rating goes up and pushes you into the bottom of the next league, rewards really won't matter because you'll be too busy having the crap pounded out of you to receive them anyway. |
