From a Lvl 30 / wins 932 (iOS) player....
1. Hangers are more varied which I think is a positive for the game. Haven't seen a clubbing hanger in 100 games. Don't/can't use my Schultz or Boa hangers in return. It's made me play a much more varied and 'best-bot' hanger. Yes my win rate has dropped from 76% to 54% but who really cares as long as the games are competitive and enjoyable. I'm not grinding (or can't grind anymore) and my maxed out hanger (which wasn't competitive at all) is slowly becoming more competitive. It's not an 'end of the world issue' apart apart from gold collection....
2. Grinding for gold is a thing of the past. I'm just glad I did 6 months of solid to get the 4th and particularly 5th hanger before buying new shiny toys.
I used to run 4/6 schutze/Thunder for gold farming with an average gold rate of 7.25 per game (I once tracked 50 games) plus the daily task gold (let's say average 60) for 132.5 per day playing 10 games - and I would often grind and play a lot more.
Yesterday it took me 13 games to compete the daily task, from which I secured 4 gold from open play (win rate 60%, 46% top 3. I lost both times I came top). A total gold output of 64 gold (59% reduction). After playing 13 games my gold collection drops by 96%!!
I can see serious players, those wanting to be competitive, or new players wanting shinny new toys paying for AU. Otherwise you'll just have to be happy with an extremely long grind. As it's a free game after all with no Ads this is reasonable - it's a business after all.
3. Three (3) slot hangers?! I just lost a game where we had 4-1 beacon advantage and we're killing them....and then bang I was running on my own. I checked my lvl 30 team mates and everyone had a three slot hanger with fancy toys AU robots and AU weapons. Oh dear - that game sucked to be blue. I wonder what these guys are thinking as competing with 6/8 and 8/10 three robot hangers puts you at a serious disadvantage. I think it's also effecting game length.
4. Games seem a lot shorter....but I'm still having epic battles. Lost this battle yesterday. The reds meched out at 2:34 but had built the beacon advantage early. Not sure if anyone else is finding this?
My take away on all of this. Change is inevitable. Embrace it. The game is still enjoyable. Just different.
