This is by far my favorite build in the game right now. Every time I get an opportunity to whip this baby out my enjoyment of the game jumps by about 10x. There's something extremely satisfying with shredding at mid range and seeing that bullet spray just gun bots down. A mini metallica or slayer soundtrack should play in the game every time the punisher spin up starts.
With that being said it is a very quirky build to run because technically speaking every burst and energy build can beat it 1 on 1. What makes the punisher shine is its unique team aid ability to strip away anciles at mid range.
Since the dash bot post apocalypse i've noticed lulls in the game where people will drop all ancilots to try and hamstring the dash onslaught. This is somewhat different than how people played before because a lot of people will hang back in their ancilots now due to being scared crapless of being dash blitzed.
This my friends is the occasion when the punisher shines.
You can drop in this badboy on maps like springfield, valley, yama, canyon and absolutely murder ancilots.
You must think of the punisher griffin as a 355-500 range bot at all costs. Avoid getting in close unless it's an ambush that the enemy doesn't see.
It's so fun.

Also, using it to hunt like a DB in CQC is wicked provided you use good situational awareness of your surroundings and assess your targets well, particularly zeroing in on weakened bots. Part of the power of this is that people don't expect a Gunship Griff to pop right on top of them. This is also a fun way to hunt with a Thunder Punisher Inquisitor.

The lead hose is a staple in my hangar. generally it is my starter bot. I find a perch and put shots down range until the reds find me. Alot of times i will bait them to come closer to me then jump back out of their range. By then they are over committed and become a large gauge screen door. The only problem with staying outside that 350 mark is it takes more ammo to shred 'em than it would if you were inside of it. I play it by ear. If they are low heal unless I know they have some crazy mk2 weapon I will push in. Likewise if I know their taran just ran out I'll take a few shoots from a magnum to finish them off faster.

I jumped inside a Zues Carny shield from behind a building and turned him into a screen door with my lead hose this arvo. Unfortunately his plasma griff mate jumped up on the roof of powerplant and ventilated my bot just as I finished him off.
