OK just played 2 games (always random) and this is the result I know many people would have bailed but I can't complain if I do it too. So which of these teams would you have hated worse. Snipers or smalls and why. I'll let the thread go a bit before I post the results and why I hate team x worse than team y.

Light bots? low level players? Cossacks otherwise known as grasshoppers? When you define it, can you edit your post so it is clear what you mean with that term? Then others can post comments. Thanks!

If I was on the red team, I'd fear neither a sniping team or a light runner team --- both are a win for my team. There's zero balance in either team and neither team can take or defend territory, it's a loss.
Now if I was on the blue team and I saw an all arty 1st lineup, I'd probably eject before the match started --- cause I know arty users (which is range >800m) won't have runners in their lineup afterwards since they don't understand anything about taking territory. The arty pilots don't even understand that these setups don't do meaningful damage either - so a team of the clueless is not a void team to be on.
With an all runner 1st lineup, at least I know the team understands the importance of beacons/territory. It probably means they won't have arty too, so I'd stay in a match that starts with 5 runners and me.

I have the same thoughts as Team Alpha Strike....light bots dropping first means blue will probably get 2-3 beacons right away, and I know I need to move my heavies up to defend those beacons.
For the snipers, 1-2 trebs on a sniper bot and an arty nat aren't going to make a big difference in the match so I have to do more heavy lifting and beacon capping so I would have dropped a faster bot myself instead of a Leo.
I would still play both matches - the light bot one because it looks like a greater likelihood of a win, the sniper bot one because I might be able to get a ton of damage (hence silver) from it because my team mates will do minor damage. But I would hate the sniper match because they will ride my coat tails to victory and think they contributed (a good sniper can contribute to the outcome if they just don't camp in one location but move around to make a difference where needed)

all light and all snipers can both be wrecked by all galahads. speed to handle quick bots, shield to handle snipers.

I've seen some quick games with light only teams, it's like trying to swat flies. Yes you can kill them, but the problem is catching them and if they're determined they can put a random team on the back foot, capping/recapping beacons.

I would hate the sniper team, randoms have no damn clue how to use them or when to ditch them.
I would love the light bots @ start, takes beacon pressure off me, distracts the reds, uses up db salvos, treb charges, and allows me to flank capture red home beacon and raid red spawn.
I cannot stress enough the map control portion of this game. You are completely unable to deny an area to a GOOD stalker pilot. While you are trying to, my lance just creeped up behind you wearing a sandpaper condom.

If it's the beginning of the game, I'd rather play with the smalls.
The smalls can help get a jump on the beacon count. Hopefully after they get smoked in a minute or two, their next bots are bigger, can do some damage and hold beacons.
Campers won't die for a while. You're stuck with their ineptitude most of the game.
EDIT: I had this backwards. I read this as who I'd rather not play WITH.
I'd rather play against the campers, there is a much better chance I'd win for the same reasons above.

No team scares me, after all it's just a game.
Teams I know I don't like to see are: Prostars Force, Suicide Death Squad, Thunder, Swarm. And a couple of others. Fury's maxed with maxed Trident, pure heck for a toe to toe fighter. iOS platform.
Since I am one of hated, lower than a snake bellies random's, I know I'm in for a tough battle.
But hey, isn't that exactly what "Luck of the draw" means.
Old man rambles over to android, got to complete those daily tasks done. dang' it.
start edit: for my team if I look around and see 4 or 5 campers, I go oh $&@?. Gonna be a tough day at the office. I really don't like to see campers on the other team either. It means with my heavies, I might not get to far on the wide open maps. Tridents hurt so good.
I do like seeing light and medium bots on my team just for the speed they have. On the other team it's nice counting to 8 seconds and taking out a stalker.
As someone said earlier. Random campers don't have any clue when to drop them and get another bot. Usually After I pass the same bot for the third time trying to get back in the battle or trying to get where somebody needs to protect or capture a beacon I unload on them. Then it seems the fourth time and fifth time, By then we are losing badly. But, hey he just fired a shot, so all is right with the world.

No I have 6 light to chose from and can easily shift a host of weapons to them, or a lot of mediums for those tasks.
Bots I got.
Old man rambles over to hangar and surveys all his bots.

I would much rather have the campers sure they are worthless at beacon capping but being Yamamoto they were good at keeping the enemy campers moving. And occasionally you can pull one out. Every time I see the field of smalls we jump out to an early beacon lead then they get hit by a bus. Game one was the campers I racked up most of the damage defending the center beacon. Game 2 was the smalls. I went to support one capping a beacon he runs out goes SPLAT and leaves me 3 on 1. After I lost my bot there were 2 reds in the home base and I spent the rest of the match trying to fend off the parade.

i'd prefer the lights because getting beacons is how you win matches, but in yamantu (the worst map of all because it emphasizes the importance of long-range bots over short/fun-range) the snipers are generally more helpful on that map. and theres a different between a sniper and the mortar-specialist-zenit-tashas. those guys are literally worthless and don't know it, so seeing a few snipers is OK, but if i see 2 zenit tashas, i'm out.
satmaster, please keep your posts on-topic

Also, i was commenting on another's funny post, and even if I was off topic, it is not your place to say that.

Started game before with my RDB on power plant and my team started with 4 stalkers and sniper.
The reds had 3 beacons from start but did not push enough and we slowly took there first wave bots out.
If enemy don't push attack them Aphid Pinata stalkers can end up nasty
My RDB lasted for 70% game only died when I had get beacon and lot enemy were on there 3rd bots by then.
Small bots can do well with cover hit run tactics.
But if enemy bots push they don'the last long.
Also satmaster the enemy galahad did not last long due to my RDB full salvo twice and 2 stalker aphids he was in bat position.
