I just want to leave this here as a response to those who think you need ads and pay to win garbage to make money:

I was wondering how long it would take for Pix to implement this. Their greed really knows no bounds.

As much as I've cursed out Zinga over the years, this is one thing they do right with their Hold Em poker game. They have a free chip giveaway every 4 hours, plus every day you can watch up to 6 ads consecutively to earn 45,000 chips a pop, for a total of 270,000 chips. You don't have to watch the ads, but you can earn over a million chips every 4 days for just 3 minutes a day if you do. I've played a few other games that work similarly -- extra in-game currency for watching an ad. I've played other games that force pop-up ads whether you want them or not, and all you get for it is the 'privilege' of playing the game. As long as they don't overdo it, that approach also works in lieu of paying. But don't ask me for money AND push ads on me, cos that's just one of the ways your app ends up in the recycle bin.

How should Pix pay it's employees? A game can either charge for the initial download, charge for in game purchases, or have ads. Or all of them. Why limit yourself to those sources of income? How do the biggest games in the world, like the NFL, pay their players and owners, ect? Ticket revenue doesn't cover all of it, that is for sure... Sponsorships are the answer, and I outline how the biggest and most successful F2P game in the world does it here: war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/16517/extra-queen-robots-destined-failLeague has no ads and gives no advantages for buying content. Yet League makes billions. War Robots just makes millions.
Bro, Dota 2 is just as successful at that regard even with less players than League. Just saying. ?
