I'm on the 2nd task to get the magnum, win 2 battles.
My first 3 battles were too easy as there was tankers on the other team, but now I've had about 6 battles in a row with tankers on my team, I've even tried to push their bots out in the open and they just start shooting at me and go back to hide.
Why would they be sabotaging other players rather than trying to win rewards from the event?

I could see how someone might think that but why would they be tanking, for easy gold? Everyone gets easy gold now from the event. Unless it's just to drop low enough to smash noobs I don't see any incentive for them to do it right now.

Lower levels means easy kills, easy wins, easy beacons = Event sorted. Lower levels= Easy silver if they pick up premium. Lower levels= More 14/10/9 gold opportunities. With advent of MKII, more Au, Ag is needed more than ever, also to get the Au for WSP/Au offers on new bots.

It's more you're going to have a lot of team mates who may be more task/goal oriented. Some may be on wins/beacons/kills and then they keep moving onto the next game. So yes there will be a fair amount of tanking, just better be ready for it. If you can squad in clad if you're concerned with points or winning, that would be the most ideal way to avoid the issue.

Just made my task list easier...I quit. Last night and this morning were not fun at all with loss after loss. Hordes of overpowered dash bots armed with maxed out weapons have made this game into one team bulldozing the other one. No strategy...no skills...just wade on in and literally overpower the other team because they paid big bucks to do so. Even saw one player with a complete hangar of MK II equipment all at levels 11 or 12. Guess I could get 1.4 million in dam if I had that hangar too. Anyways...it was a good ride for almost 2 months. Time to find a better balanced game.

Not sure, if these are tankers or the match system not working correctly.
I'm in Bronze league and half the field is either Champion league or just below Champion league players that are still in their respected leagues. Usually when someone tanks their league doesn't match their strength. Like an all 12 level hanger sitting in Bronze or Silver league. This all started happening after the event started. These players are making it really hard to reach the kill challenge. Getting 0-2 kills a game before I die really sucks..

Right, but with that logic it makes sense for those guys to position before the event starts, not during the event itself. to get down multiple leagues this is thousands of league points to drop, which is hundreds of matches. Say 200-300 matches, even at 3 mins per match that is 10-15 hours of solid game play just to get to a place where they start earning gold with a higher chance. the only way that is going to make sense to do is: 1) if they are a super hardcore, full time War Robots player spending all day every day playing; 2) they are not bright enough to do the maths Since the people in group 1 that would actually consider tanking would definitely have done it before the event, the vast majority of people actually tanking during the event should be from the moron group 2. I do think those morons are out there, but also there probably are a lot of people playing strangely to focus on their current event tasks rather than just on winning and this also contributes to the feeling that people are tanking.

I wouldn't be so sure. Let me elucidate. One can't lose more than 3 points in Bronze I and lower. So, there is a effective 'range' someone needs to tank through for maximum bang for their buck. Say the upper level of tanker's range in Diamond III, so the lower level is Bronze I, and even if they tanked all the way down to their lower level, they'll rise up soon enough by sealclubbing- hence, making the need to tank again to their lower limits. Also, they can just time their tanking with the tasks- beacon grab tasks when they are tanking so that even the tanking is efficient.

I always review all team members after EVERY battle. In the last 2 days I have taken screen shots of 37 players who are in Bronze 2, 1 and Silver 3 that have maxed hangars. There have been more but they were 10/11 or 11/12 so I didn't bother. I have identified 5 clans (some are well known e.g. Aztecs, Suicide Squad and Chinese clans) playing at that level - mainly Bronze. Of the 37 players, 22 are past Champion players based on "winged cups" under their current cup total, 6 of those have Mk2 gear (e.g. I have posted the latest one in wall of shame). One had a max damage stat of more than 4.5 million (how do you do that??). They seem to do it cyclically so that they don't get too high - I think Diamond 3 is probably a bit too high for them. I do not think that they are actually playing though, to achieve event goals.
