Finally the halloween update arrived today and surprise! Squads and clans have finally arrived! I already created my clan called The Collective. Our motto is no whales, tankers or whiners. Only warriors here!
None of the aforementioned undesirables will be welcome in The Collective. Any help and advice anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Most of my War Robots time has been on amazon and I have no experience at all in being in a clan let alone leading one. So much to learn. 1. How do we set up coms? 2.best practices for leadership and membership. Really any advice would be welcome.

By way of introduction/resume, I have been a clan leader and am currently an officer in the Nitroglycerin family of clans on Android, and have led and been an officer or moderator in other clans, alliances and forums in other games.
There are a number of apps out there you can use. We use Discord, which works pretty well, for both a forum and for in-game coms.
As far as running your clan goes, to some extent that is a personal thing, but I do suggest you require a common language for public communications. We have found that location is less important, and have players from all over the world, which makes for interesting conversations and for available squadmates at most times day or night. Think about minimum activity and level requirements and about long term objectives.
Don't rush to make people officers. Get to know them first. The best officers in this game are often not the players who are most active, most skilled or the ones with the best hangars. The best officers are the players who foster a sense of community, loyalty and comradeship. They listen to suggestions and complaints of the membership and do their best to solve problems.
