READ THIS BEFORE PLAYING.
This game IS Pay-to-Win. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It wasn't always, but now is. And they have a ton of issues. Do just a bit of research and you can see for yourself. Don't just take my word.
If your micro transactions get messed up, they don't care. They already have your money. No refunds or exchanges, ever, no matter the circumstance!
Spent a bunch of money to get an advantage? It all will become worthless in no time as they release far superior bots and weapons and then make them cost completely new in game premium currency. Top tier bots used to be about $50 if you flat out bought them. Now $300!
Horrendous customer service. Takes a week or more after emailing them to get a response. And their first response email is ALWAYS the same. "We are sorry about your issue and hope it fixed itself." No joke. Now wait another week for your response to that...
It is gambling. There are multiple "games" within the game that give the appearance of giving you a chance to win some of the expensive items. They are all a ridiculous waste of money. In fact, the chances to win something good have DECREASED over time! They post the chances, look it up. Then look at people's reactions who have spent literally hundreds of dollars on gambling in game.
Pixonic puts on a good face, but only wants to pick your pocket. Before they changed control of War Robots it was a ton of fun. They are now running it into the ground to make some money and throw it away.

I'd also like to add, Griffin's armed with molots, punishers, or tulumbu/pins, can do an extraordinary amount of damage all the way into diamond league. Dropping a Thunder/Punisher Leo in someone's face in Beacon Rush? Devastating in almost any league. Use workshop points to arm another Griffin with tarns/magnums, or a Carnage with Thunders, or a stalker for beacon runs, and you have a very formidable hangar without spending a lick of gold.
Maybe not the strongest hangar, but still a very effective one that can support your teammates.

Let's be honest here: The "free"/silver weapons and the workshop weapons rock. Tarans? Better not get near them. Trebuchet? Got buff after buff the over the last months and when they're on a Carnage, you don't even see them coming as he's too fast. Magnums? Oh yeah, the phew phew phew of death combined with Thunder on a Leo. Punisher, Molots, Hydras, shall I go on? 3*Tulu on Fujin are a real pain in the 「bum-bum」 for every bot without Ancile. Tulu+Pin on the Griffin? Famous RDB for a reason.
You can have a lot of fun with the "free" weapons once they hit level 9/10 and, of course, win games in higher leagues with them. My hangar is mixed as I spent some money on the game in the past but since the latest patches, I stopped my spending yet still having fun with some gold bots and my silver/wsp bots.

Dear pilots:
While the OP makes some true statements and good points, there is a way to play and still enjoy the game. It’s a combination of 2 things. “Developing skill” and findng your “happy medium” in the game. You only NEED the expensive bots if you plan on competing and playing at the highest levels.
If you keep your upgrade levels at 8-9 or below, you likely will stay low enough in the leagues to avoid facing tons of real money bots/weapons.
If you get caught up in trying to move up n the leagues and compete at high levels, then you will be competing with hefty wallets.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE:
A) Pay to win
B) Try to compete at high levels for free/low cost and be frustrated, hate it and whine about it.
C) Keep your levels low enough to stay in the middle leagues and have fun.
D) Find another game to play.

I read your post advocating a 9/9 hangar quite a while ago, and you made sense even then. I've decided to cap at 8/8 for now, and it's going fine most of the time. |

Changed my hanger. highest bot level 5. highest weapon level 6. 2 leo's. 2 griffs and 1 carnage. All I'm facing is level 12 lances and dash bots.? IS this how its meant to happen?? On the verge of throwing this game in the trash.

On the verge of throwing this game in the trash. Sorry for the late response. If you were in a high league before the change, it will take a while for you to drop down. I don't mind playing against the dashes and Shocktrains, although I do get tired of it if the matches are lopsided against my team (not just me) a bunch of times in a row. So I'm keeping my 10/10.75 hangar upgrading. But nothing wrong with going low if you stay that way or upgrade slowly. Switching back and forth between ecu cossack and max meta hangars to seal club is very lame. |
