Since I started playing War Robots, I've become a fan of the TV show "Battle Bots" (Science Channel in the US). I can barely draw a decent stick figure, so I'm not fit to get into robotics per se, but I marvel at those who can and do build some wicked, wild, wonderful, mechanized stuff.

I definitely like robotics ian123 Have always been fascinated when I used to do IT contract work at assembly plants and watched them do their thing. Used to bug the guys that worked with em’ all the time with too many questions. Shame I was nearing end of my career and never got a chance to play with them. Have bought some kits though in my retirement years and they are fun to build and play with. Blurred Vision that’s a good show. I definitely enjoy it. ?

Personally, I don't.
I like the play style of the game. Kind of reminds me a little of the Battlefield games but instead of capping and holding flags it's beacons. That coupled with all the different weapons and bots and being able to upgrade things makes for one of the best games I ever played.
In the real world I actually despise technology. I despise the industrial revolution. I despise the fact that we're are all slaves to such things. We were given this beautiful, blue and green earth, with its rich pastures and forests, mountains and oceans and all the amazing life on it and we as humans are so overcome by greed and laziness that we said "?firetruck? all of it" and turned our world into one big 「gosh darn 」 shopping mall. And yes, I despise the fact that sitting here, typing this up on my phone, I too am a hypocritical consumer and part of the problem.
I would love nothing more then to get out of the concrete jungle I live in and build a small little cabin in the mountains in the middle of bumble?firetruck?, nowhere and farm, hunt, fish - live off the land. Or join a tribe in another country who carry out their daily lives as such. I'm perfectly happy with just my basic needs met. It would take a while to shed the burden of my enslavement to my phone, electricity, car, etc. but I know deep down inside my soul that if and when I ever do, only then will I be able to experience true freedom.
Sorry if this sounds akin to the Unabomber Manifestio but... yeh, that's pretty much how I feel about technology. Only difference is I would never and have no desire to blow up innocent people.
Apologies for the rant ?

Apologies for the rant ? Itâs okay if you rant about it. I live in the country hunt, fish, oh yeah, I fish. I grow my own food, trade odd jobs for some other necessities, still shop in the grocery for others. Have solar panels to supply some of my electrical needs. So I understand where you are coming from. Not much for big cities anyway, could name a couple I would like to see bulldozed away. But glad they donât, keeps them away from me. I couldnât tell you where my phone is all the time, not sure right now. Keep the ringer off. But you can have a blend of both and have a happy life. Or at least I can. Hope you get get your dream. Everybody deserves to live how they want. ?

Second the battlebots part. It’s a shame that it’s been apparently cancelled. I really wanted sawblaze and nightmare to make a splash in season three, they always seemed to get derailed by bad luck. Beta and tombstone was great, but I was robbed of tombstone and nightmare.

Going in a slightly different direction I would point you toward Fanuc. They are a japanse company that makes "robot arms" for industrial use - The kicker is that they have robot arms that build robot arms in a factory that has NO people (no lights no AC) I believe that they load and unload the factory once a week -- information on them is rather sparse as the product they sell is super high end. Another HUGE automator is apple. Every iPhone, and almost ever mac features milled metal parts. Most of these are made on something called a "robodrill" (a faunc product no less) Apple literally bought every robdrill that could be built for YEARS -- most of its milled parts are made with little to no human interaction! (someone does have to care for the machines and deal with broken tools but those are few and far between). atomicdelights.com/blog/why-your-next-iphone-wont-be-ceramicOddly CNC machining is what gave birth to industrial robotics and have a lot of the same control systems at their core (G-code) --- the whole space is fascinating and some of the things being done there are quite interesting. what is fascinating is that what was a massive cost 10 years ago (CNC machining wise) is now something that costs less than a nice car and fits in the garage where I car might have gone --

I’ve always liked building circuts and things, however, i’ve never built a robot. The closest thing i’ve built is an RC car.
