This has happened to me twice now. It's only a game and it's my fault for not being more careful but it still annoys me.
I have an upgrade running and am happy to let it take few days/hours. Don't want to spend gold to speed it up.
Then I'm cleaning the screen or closing the game [this was a while ago] and click the speed up button.
It would be simple I surmise to add a confirmation window with cancel option like for some other things - but for this quite serious and annoying error there is none.
Is it policy? are they trying to make us spend gold by mistake? It doesn't make sense to me since I know it must annoy a lot of players and can't make pixonic and real money, can it?
Would it be worth petitioning them to add it to the next update or is it a design feature they prefer to keep??

It's not your fault. The trap was deliberately left out for you (and for all of us).
I don't think there's any doubt left at this point that this sort of behaviour is, and always has been, official Pix policy. :/

Erm... to be perfectly honest with you, why would you clean your screen when your phone isn't locked/screen turned off?
And also, closing off the game and pressing the speed up button?... I just can't picture it, in order to close off an app you need to go to multitask/app switch view right? So in that process, how did your finger end up tapping that speed up button...?
You just gotta be more careful, if you can be this careless for this matter, I don't know what other careless encounters you'll come across.. :/

In a previous version of iOS on iPad you closed an app by using 3-4 fingers and swiping them all together towards the middle. This has changed now so you close it differently.
As for cleaning the screen, well yes I need to be more careful. I guess I have greasy fingers so the smears often annoy me and I'm careless. I've also been finding the game slow to load so locking the screen and then unlocking it again to clean has been a pain to do. Let's hope I've learned my lesson after this last fiasco.
I would still like a screen to confirm the spending of all game currencies but I tend to think pixonic are trying to get us to spend when we don't really mean to. I think it's a mistake on their part because it annoys us without bringing them in much cash. But they know their business.

Nope. Feature is working as intended.
As are the MM and OP bots released for real currency.

It'll never change. Just a lame sneaky thing game developers do.
One thing about the update, that did surprise me was clicking 'enhance' didn't take the 500 gold straight away. Imagine how many players would have clicked and then said, "Fu*kers!" while Dix go, "BuHAHAHAHAHa!"
