Anyone play CCG's? I gave hearthstone a whirl awhile back, but it's really hard to accumulate anything there without buying the 50 pack bundles for every expansion.
I started playing Shadowverse a couple of days ago, and I have to say I'm digging it. Haven't joined their community yet (because it might be the end of my time here).
Gameplay is solid, you get 10 free packs from every expansion in the game when you start.
There is a story mode for each class, so you can learn how each class's deck mechanics work before you start getting into PvP.
Because players start with so much stuff, it's actually quite easy to get a competetive deck going once they choose their favorite class.
Granted, the only vice I can really see with it is that it'll cost a bit to diversify in terms of time/money after thr initial resources are used, but(unlike components) the crafting system more than makes up for any duds one might get from packs.
If you've never played, and enjoy CCG's along the lines of MtG and Hearthstone, it's definitely worth a shot.
There are a few busted cards, but they're not game-breaking because they're only useful in certain situations. An example of this is the Priest/Haven class, they have a creature card that has high stats that the opponent can do pretty much nothing about, BUT, it's a high cost card, so it's only an auto win against greedier decks. I usually play super greedy decks, so I went and looked it up the first time I encountered it. The playerbase at large agreed that it wasn't unfait because if you're playing anything faster than that deck, they're dead before the card in question is a problem.
All of the classes are seen on ladder, something Hearthstone has yet to achieve after 4+ years.
Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else plays, and maybe pitch a game for people sick of Blizzard shenenegans.
