"Previously, bots have been “all or nothing.” You either own a bot…or you don’t. Simple, right? However, this also placed a constraint on Pixonic’s ability to have a graduated ownership structure. Why is this important? Because if “whole bots” are a prize in the roulette system, then they’re going to be relatively scarce. Being able to in effect give away “partial bots” opens up the range of possibilities Pixonic has at their disposal to make the chest system feel more rewarding to players. Let’s say I want an Inquisitor (because who doesn’t, amirite?). I’m going to spin the roulette wheel as much as I can to get it if that’s my only avenue for acquisition- up to the limit of what I am willing to spend (which could very well be $0, mind). The more I spin and don’t get it, the more apt I am to be frustrated by the entire process. But let’s say instead I walk away with 65% of the components needed for an Inquisitor. I still won’t be as happy as I would have if I’d won the thing outright, but I’m also less likely to feel like I’m walking away empty-handed. I’ve made real, tangible progress."
They divided a bot up into percentages of it. I consider this the equivalent of a car company selling the wheels, doors and steering wheel separate...You might be buying the Ferrari in stages, but you don't have a Ferrari. This is all slight of hand, placation and pacification...25% 50% and 75% of a bot is still nothing.
They are going to sell you bots in installments now...to help swallow the astronomical prices of a whole bot.
We can buy our bots on the layaway program..in 3 easy installments...lol

Nice write-up and assessment of the pros and cons. I'm still a little wary of most of these new features, as I'm fairly certain, given past history with this game, that no matter how many new ways they introduced to acquire stuff, they're going to require more time than I have to grind them out, and/or more money than I'm willing to part with for a game. But we'll see how it all plays out.

I'm fine with things taking longer to get certain content. If the game quality improves (MM, bugs) I'm cool with it.

Wait...
So what you're saying is the sky isn't falling?
Huh. I'll be damned.

Hey gang, I did a breakdown/analysis of the changes announced today over on M*S. Check it out! Did you miss the Rome map on the test server? This is where you battle around and in the Coliseum which is also the center beacon. So that's three maps --- Castle, Rome, Ship --- that's being worked on.

Hey gang, I did a breakdown/analysis of the changes announced today over on M*S. Check it out! Great read as always. I think I there's a real risk of too-much-too-soon. I mean new bots (when we're dealing with Dash into) plus the new currency mechanisms and the mrk2. Hope it doesn't turn into a 「dookie」 show.

McDonald's gives you the chance to get monopoly pieces that add up to a larger prize. Never mind the fact that there are millions of Park Places and only two Boardwalks.
