It would be REALLY nice if people gave way to Rhinos at the start of BR matches... It's not rocket science.... but they won't.. and this thread won't change that... but maybe you guys share my mild frustration.

I agree. Especially on Yamantau, where the first team to reach the center so often wins.
But Dashes are faster than anything else out there, so we will all be running them first when we eventually get one. So in time, this too shall pass.

I was squading with my clan and me and 2 other rhinos started on Yam together. We all 3 stampeded toward the center. Before we even hit the ramp, I realized a Kumiho had already gotten there and was halfway to turning it red. Well, all 3 of us were like, "Oh no he didn't!!!" We killed him and charged our butts in to take it back before anyone else got there. Held center for 6 more minutes before it got taken back and won by beacon control when time expired. It felt gooooooood!
Rhino rush y'all. DO IT!

When you actually have a pack it's AWESOME! But sadly pretty rare. I would have thought the BR rhino charge was a no brainer!

Rhino rush y'all. DO IT! Just wait till you have four red Dashes on the beacon like I went up against. They turn it, and good game. Hopefully when they nerf the Dash Robots they remove the ability to double Dash (along with nerfing the Haechi armor by about 35k) and increase the Dash cooldown, that should bring them back to earth a bit.

I start every BR match in a rhino. Sometimes if people drop bots late they spawn right in front of your rhino (esp. Dead City). Often a griffin will jump over me, and I will see his shadow and steer around him. But sometimes he lands right in front of me, and the charge is interrupted.
Most annoying are possibly rogatkas who are slower than you between jumps but always seem to jump directly into your path. You can collide with them 5 times heading for center in Yama.

Sometimes I like to paste my bot in the sails, and go sailing.

Make way for Rhinos? Definitely... But I've seen some pretty stupid Rhinos too... Going into assault mode and banging straight to a wall, needs to lower his shields, work around that thing and go again.... Lol facepalm

I have seen some stupid ones too... Standing there with their shield up while RDB is firing at them. Their health goes down in seconds. Wasted bot/

If they collide with you 5 times anywhere, that's their own [ structural water barrier ] fault. They have significantly more control. Dumb or inconsiderate Rog pilot.

My griff eats rhino for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a press of a red button, so convenient I would say it certainly depends on the type and position of said Griff. In many situations, I would totally agree, but there are some where that doesn't apply. DB griff vs DB rhino, the griff wins many of those, maybe 8 in 10 because of the jump.
PDB griff vs PDB rhino, the rhino will have a much better chance because of the shield and the higher HP at equivalent levels.
I'm not going to run though all the combos, but you can see that it's not all lopsided in favor of the Griffin anymore. Also, the speed and turning buffs to the rhinos have made them much more maneuverable and able to keep up with the griffs.

You know what would be an AWESOME buff to the Rhino? The ability to PUSH other bots, especially light bots. Imagine pushing a slow or lagged bot all the way to the centre beacon and letting them take the brunt of rocket fire!

I have seen some stupid ones too... Standing there with their shield up while RDB is firing at them. Their health goes down in seconds. Wasted bot/ And that's the biggest problem with a Rhino. Once you're in range of rocket fire, there's not much you can do. Shield offers next to no protection, and you can't retreat while it's up, but it takes so long to drop and then it's slow af moving once it's down, you're pretty much toast either way. Best you can hope to do is still be alive when the RDB is empty and unload as much as you can before he starts shooting again. "Oh, well then, just stay out of the range of rockets." Yeah, let's not go there.

Most champion pilots can fire DB at jumping Griffin. This is true to a degree. If a griffin during a jump has both lateral and vertical movement. Lateral movement can be lead so that the rockets land on target by accounting for the constant lateral speed and time necessary to travel by the rockets. However, War Robots does not let you lead vertically. Thus, as a giffin rises and falls, if he is a sufficient distance from you (lets say 250m or more for argument's sake) and because of the small splash radius of the orkan/piñata rockets (I've heard 10m), then it is not possible for your rockets to explode close enough to him to damage him (or to damage him as completely) with splash. He has 2 windows then during his jump where you, as a rhino, can not hit him, yet he can be doing constant rocket damage. This is usually enough to break the tie between a DB griffen and and DB rhino. This doesn't even take into account the griffin's ability to ambush better than a rhino with the jump.
I stand by my assertion that a DB rhino will lose 8 of 10 1v1 battles with a DB griffin if both start at full health and are of equal lvling. That doesn't mean that the DB griffin will go unscathed. He will likely be crippled, but he still wins.
Just my $0.02

Rhino shield should be a snowplow wedge that just throws anything it runs into out of the way, like a cow-catcher from hell. Red or blue, doesn't matter, move or be moved. Bots flying everywhere. AND it deflects Orkan fire. Now there's a hack I'd pay for.

You've just shown why Rogs are one of the biggest offenders I think Griffins are the worst offenders by far tbh. They jump towards the home beacon and land usually blocking the way for Rogs & Rhinos. It's mind boggling why opening Griff pilots do this in BR, they're unlikely to cap a second beacon for the match so there's no medal of capture award in it for them. They should stick to what they're good at, dps, and stop slowing down the fast cappers; a few seconds can make a difference.

Imagine pushing a slow or lagged bot all the way to the centre beacon and letting them take the brunt of rocket fire! You already can do this. In fact, I pushed a tanker (not in a rhino) all the way from spawn to the central bowl in Dead City, firing from behind my 'meat shield' much of the time. Very satisfying.
