So I've noticed the extreme tankiness of players around this level?
Despite them all being 'diamond 2' they are all decked out with level 12 /12 mechs?
is this par for course around 3400-3600 level?

Depends on if they spend $ and how much. I've not spent a dime, I'm in android Champion League and I'm not fully maxed out yet.
Are they playing one bot/getting one beacon/killing one red and parking/leaving/self destructing? If so, they are tanking and moving down to lower levels.
If they're going through reds like a hot knife through butter, they're clubbing their way up the league ranks, taking in the gold and silver rewards.
It's a vicious cycle which could be largely stopped if Pixonic would end battle rewards for players who drop more than 1 full league rank below their maximum rating. For example, max rank of Master 3 drops below Expert 3 gets no battle reward til they get back to Expert 3. ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA. No gold, no silver, no keys of any color.
Some will still do it for the lulz, but most do it for the easy money I think. Take that away, and most of it would stop. No need to punish, just don't reward it.
I'm not trying to FORCE anyone to play a certain way. If tanking/clubbing is "fun" for some players, well, what can you say? I just think that if tanking/clubbing is done for "fun", then fun is all they should get out of it, since the rest of us are trying to have fun, too.

I agree with your point of view but I want to spend some time climbing the leagues sometimes AND sometimes I want to have fun. I'm not talking about 1 game to the next, I'm talking about a month or two at a time. I've pretty much reached my ceiling in Expert with my strongest hangar, now I want to play fun hangars for a month or two. I've got to save for a Lanace and level it and a Rog anyway. During that time my rating may well drop to Diamond 2, that would be a full league and I'm happy to accept the low damage and ranking points but I still want to earn au & ag. |

I really think bots should have individual rankings so you can run weaker mechs, they could simply average the scores to make your ranking, and then match accordingly. If they did this ylhigh level players could actually play their lower leve mechs. As it stands now, everyone has to junk their rating and club down. |

This is part of my frustration that led me to find my happy spot last night. Tankers + faders + MM league/hanger imbalance + MM matching scrubs vs Champ premades = extreme frustration |

Nobody has any interest in beacon cappin, or I should say holding them at any rate Its getting so bad that I feel like tanking down - I am Expert 2 and had my best damage ever earlier today 1.34 million and still came last as one player on the 'Team' posted 14k damage - its just not fair why should I get naff all silver and gold because of this MO-FO. I copletely agree with the above. I also think that you should be able to play different hangers and face hangers of the same strength - all they have to do to protect noobs is factor in the player level to the Hanger strength - most people by the time they reach lvl 30 should know what they are doing so current hanger strength and level for me is how matched should be played |

Not sure if its what your seeing but certainly in iOS there is a big, big change in the MM at 3500 (+/- 50 points) league points. Lots of Champs in games, high level squads, everyone has a heavy hanger and many know how to use it. Its really hard to get over it, took me weeks of trying and didn’t happen until I got my hanger up a level and made a lot of adjustment to game play.
There were lots of people around my league points with heavy hangers and while on the face of it the hangers might have looked over levelled for where they were none of the other stats indicated tankerish behaviour, I just genuinely think they were stuck at the wall?

Stuck at 3450ish for ages lol I've been levelling up stuff to 9/9 with a few things at 10. I reckon it's just a matter of being patient and getting the majority of weapons up to 10. |

I got to it with a 9/9 hanger, qualified into expert II with it, but just kept on getting beaten back out again, promoted / relegated / promoted just about everyday for weeks. Game play got a lot better but when the champs turned up I was still the bottom end of the damage table. When the BM hit and it became apparent we were not getting dashes for Au I blew a pile of it auto upgrading all the weps to 10.
That seemed to do the trick.

There's certainly a balance between skill and equipment. A new player will still suck even with a 12/12 hangar, and only do so well. OTOH, a skilled pilot with low lvl stuff will only be able to do so much.
If you're stuck and want to keep advanving, just keep hammering, and upgrade as you can. The ups and downs will make you a better pilot, and as those upgrades tick off, the combination of increasing skill and gear will get you out of the rut. Just takes time.
And my "1 full league rank" threshold is just a suggestion, though I think there should be a threshold. The main idea is to stop rewarding the tanking/clubbing cycle.

For me, their number has significantly become less since I started playing beacon rush. Because only half (give or take) of the player base is in BR. Less of the total pool of tankers is in your chosen game mode. |

There's no such thing as tankers in Expert3-2. It's all the same tier. They would have to drop down to Diamond 2 in iOS before they stopped being matched with Champions.
I mean, I don't really feel that much a difference in matches when moving from Expert 1 to Master 3 to Master 2.
