is there a thing like a "good fader"? sounds like an oxymoron. anyways, with my second account, I wanted to stay in Diamond2 so that I can squad with younger clan members (mid gold to low diamond). in ios, I feel D1 is a far greater attracter of higher leaguer opponents than D2. last night I realized that I was one battle away from qualifying back to D1, but a -22 (or anything below -15) loss would put me back in D2. I didn't want to downright fade, but I wished for a loss with a low damage score, after somewhat satisfying fight for the blue team. I also had a daily task "liberate four beacons with a light bot". so I replaced a TP Leo with a Pinata Stalker, and choose a DM battle. ... the map was the Valley. I spanwed with a Rhino and made a suicidal run for the center. for some reason, there were many reds situated at a perfect range busy fighting others. I reluctantly shoot at some and died. to reduce damage, my next choice was a RDB Griff. but again for some reason, I survived long and many targets exposed themselves. I reluctantly shoot at them some salvos and spent some time hiding. then there were two Ancilots looming behind, protecting me from rockets at just the right timing. and I realized one thing - all blue flew one rather familiar clan name, while red clans were random. firetruck, I was teamed with a five-member champ squad. it will be extremely difficult to lose this battle ... and I remembered the daily task and respawned with my Stalker. I turned one red beacon quite far from the center of the battle. this happened to be a rather good move and we started having beacon advantage for the first time. ... I also remembered that the daily task was to liberate not to cap. so in the next beacon, I just turned it white and retreated. and this turned out to be again a good move, since my Stalker survived the raging rush of at least three reds, and they had to run all the way to turn back it red anyway. ... so it turned out that I become the only D2 leaguer in a game of 11 champion-ish players, and I contributed to the win quite some when there was one disconnected (or faded) in the blue team. it was actually one of my better games, not bcs I was willing but bcs reds somehow presented themselves in timely fashion as targets:  and I was promoted back to D1 :/ ... sometimes I see suggestions to stay in a league. and I wish I could do so, so that I can squad with clan members (mid gold to low diamond) more safely. but how would you do that without harming the game experience of teammates? is it possible to become a "good fader"? |

Short answer, no.
If you're purposely manipulating the match results through game play completely counter to how you rose within the ranks, then you're screwing those on blue.
In the end, the guys busting hump to win the match are hurt the same by a fader and leaver. The match is thrown for a loss through deliberate manipulation, so I don't see any way to drop leagues (on purpose) without harming the gaming experience of other blues.

You could try running a pure beacon capping hanger. If you still accumulate to much damage replace all your weapons with level one weapons. You can hold that red button all game and do minimal damage. Or another fun way to fade is put together a "fun only" hanger. When was the last time you played with spirals, nashorns or a vityaz? Pins on a gepard? Sounds good to me. Release the frankenbots!

Run a capping hanger. Stop chasing damage and start chasing wins. You can ignore the meta all you want and play something different, just play to win. |

I'm not sure if this is close, but when I try to stay in my league, I play for damage, not for the win. It's not ethical, but I like to think I'm helping my teammates by taking out bots so that they don't have to deal with them. Beacon capping is not a main priority. If I win, oh well. If I lose, whatever.

Release the frankenbots! thanks for your input, but what you suggest would surely harm the team, especially equipping level1 weapons. a "pure" beacon capping hanger will not be advisable either, since a team would need more than that from a member in most cases, what I came up with so far : - when playing solo, I will play the role of beacon runner with a lighter and faster hanger - meaning running the Stalker instead of the Leo, - I will do my best to help winning, but my role I will play in the team is the main beacon runner. when we win, I will be scored in the lower side of dmg. and -22 (or -19 if counting beacons) when lost, - I will play the DM mode. since bringing a Stalker in BR may be already a harm to the team, - in this way, I will aim for >50% win rate (or whatever the highest achievable), somewhat lower dmg and higher beacons, and a gradual sink in league standing, - I will also stop upgrading main weapons. with lower silver earnings, it may be just inevitable, - and when sqauding with clan members, I will be back to normal hanger (i.e. Leo) for BR. this much is what I can think of, |

The best you can hope for is to plateau in a decent league. Stop upgrading at that point, or any other point along the way where you hit a steady state and enjoy the game.

It's interesting that you are finding this such a challenge. Why don't u just use bots and weapons that match ur lower level guys hangars and keep playing with those? Lower your hangar. And don't use your best hangar when playing with your guys at all. Btw, WHEN you play affects the MM rubber-banding. I'm in champ and see ALL manner of diamond when I solo. When in squad I practically see none. |

Ofc ? But in all honesty, Im currwntly playing: 1. Tarancilot 2. Plasmahad 3. Pinata/Ork-had 4. Pinata/Ork Gary 5. Tulu Rog (All 9/9) For the longest time I was D1 until I played the above hanger since last week or so, and now Im in D2 But had to replace the pinata/ork-had with noricums gep because sometimes im stuck with all campers team mates no thanks to match fixing (cant beat them, join them) |

The only way to intentional get negative points without hurting random blues is to find 5 others that want to do the same thing and lose as a squad together. Once you are down in mid league points then prioritise beacons over damage - this may be a tweak in hangar and play style, but not 5x ecu Cossacks, etc. You do not have to be first in damage to contribute to the win

cap 2 kill 2, then fade
if your team is taking it easy
cap 1 kill 1, then fade
and never do a full league down in a day, divide it to two days
-no LQ guaranteed

thanks guys, for various suggestions and comments  @macwarrobots yes, I started a second account, and it is the one now I am trying to keep at D2. not planning to start the third :/ SuperHero the bot and weapon levels I am using in my second account is similar with them (bot l7~8, weapon l8~9). I cannot undo the fifth slot. and this is a poor man's account so I cannot afford many alternative gears. and even if I use lower gears when squading, nonetheless if you are at a higher league you will attract matching with higher leaguers as opponents. and if I use lower level gears to adjust my league standing (when not squading), that will harm blue team's gameplay. my question was " is there a way to stay in a league or even lowering a league standing, without affecting random blue team members (or with minimal damage to blue teams)", anyways the plan I have now is somewhat in line with your suggestion - I will use a hanger with a Stalker (instead of the Leo), and play DM mode (since a Stalker in BR mide will be more harmful to random blue teammates) and see how it goes. I also plan to stop upgrading my main gears. I aim for >50% win rate (or the best I can achieve) with lower dmg and higher beacon, and slowing sinking in league standing. llama4president a britbot hanger is an excellent suggestion  but they are too expensive for me. no Au bot in the hanger ... |

In my opinion, if you're gonna deliberately deal less damage in order to "lose" points if the match is lost, I don't support that. Any form of fading/leaving/dropping even if there was no ill-intentions, is still slapping the blue team in the face " you're on your own". I understand you wanna stay in D2 for your clanmates sake, but it really isn't a good idea. Just squad with them, even if it was a match lost badly, they'll only improve... Right? Now as some mentioned on switching to a capping hangar, it is still slapping the blue team " Bot popping is all up to you guys". And at the end of the day, with a capping hangar, means you are gonna have a chance to win the match somehow. Even if you're the lowest in damage in the team, you still get +2 points. SO, my verdict is, NEVER manipulate the system in any way. You should be going all-out, and encouraging your teammates to go all-out as well, and at the same time to not be disheartened by losing matches. Cheers, [  ?] WilsonK. |

Just imagine a total AP (Ancile points) of 258,000 with a regen speed of 7,740 per second! Bring it on DBs & RDBs!  P.S. totally not supportive of this idea unless you're having a full-squad battle and is all just for fun! |

I've have done this in the past in full squads where I just spent my time breaking anciles for my squadmates to exploit. RDBs are great for helping support blues without having crazy DPS. And soloing with a reduced hangar will eventually reduce or at least slow down ur point earnings while still trying ur best. finally, tell ur guys to buck up. LOL And yes, play Domination more even when squading. U have a better chance even against higher level opponents |

I think there is a way to run a beacon-oriented hanger without harming and actually helping the blue team. you may have imagined an extreme, like all light bot hanger, but I am not planning to run such a thing. also, I'd like to point out that extreme dmg-seeking is as harmful as extreme beacon-running play. it's like " beacon capping is all up to you guys" - a very common mindset who harvest silvers by bringing out a maxed Treb Fury in a map like PP, sitting on the hill all the time. I am not talking about Champions league, where a slight slip out of meta may mean an intention of tanking, where Ancilots are beacon runners. this is mid-Diamond league, where there is still room for some flexibility. what I aim to achieve is not dropping leagues in one day. even if dropping is possible at all, it would be very slow process. perhaps zer00eyz put it the best: stop chasing damage, start chasing win. I aim to build a hanger that does less damage, cap more beacons, and win more. ideally, with each win I gain small league standing and with each loss I lose -14 or -19 points (assuming I capped some beacons in a losing effort). this will at least slow my league progression. and if I lose during squading with clanmates (high chance if we keep meeting full Champion squads as a couple nights ago), my league standing may actually dropping. the change I am going to try is to add a Stalker, replacing the brawler Leo, and playing DM. and I will stop upgrading main gears. so far I had two solo wins, placed 5th and 3rd in dmg, with most beacons in both matches (and 1W 2L squading). The point of the highlighted paragraph above is to simply let you know that even if you focus on capping beacons (of course it will benefit the blues!), you will still tend to have a higher chance of gaining league points, in this case +2 for the least damage done! Cheers, [ ?] WilsonK. so to my question your answer is that there is no way to stay in, or lower, a league standing without harming the blue team. fine. but I cannot agree with one particular point (the underlined). I think there is a way to run a beacon-oriented hanger without harming and actually helping the blue team. you may have imagined an extreme, like all light bot hanger, but I am not planning to run such a thing. also, I'd like to point out that extreme dmg-seeking is as harmful as extreme beacon-running play. it's like " beacon capping is all up to you guys" - a very common mindset who harvest silvers by bringing out a maxed Treb Fury in a map like PP, sitting on the hill all the time. I am not talking about Champions league, where a slight slip out of meta may mean an intention of tanking, where Ancilots are beacon runners. this is mid-Diamond league, where there is still room for some flexibility. what I aim to achieve is not dropping leagues in one day. even if dropping is possible at all, it would be very slow process. perhaps zer00eyz put it the best: stop chasing damage, start chasing win. I aim to build a hanger that does less damage, cap more beacons, and win more. ideally, with each win I gain small league standing and with each loss I lose -14 or -19 points (assuming I capped some beacons in a losing effort). this will at least slow my league progression. and if I lose during squading with clanmates (high chance if we keep meeting full Champion squads as a couple nights ago), my league standing may actually dropping. the change I am going to try is to add a Stalker, replacing the brawler Leo, and playing DM. and I will stop upgrading main gears. so far I had two solo wins, placed 5th and 3rd in dmg, with most beacons in both matches (and 1W 2L squading). I will see how it goes, You need to switch your focus to helping your team out so that you are still contributing. 1. Running a beacon capper. Already been said. Not saying run 5 Stalkers, just 1 maybe, and maybe a faster hanger like a Rogatka instead of Griffin. 2. Run Thunder Carnage or Punisher Griffin. Both make excellent Ancile poppers. 3. Get dangerous beacons. Run that Rhino fast to centre of Yamantau or Shenzhen. Most games are won by whoever is gutsy enough to get it first. 4. Break that Lancelot shield. Help your teammates out by choosing to target the frontal shield of Lancelots. Let them get all the juicy Griffins and the meaty gooey insides of Lancelots. Can't tell you how many times I've been shooting at shield bots all game and getting no damage. 5. Be the vanguard. Vanguard means in the front, the first one. Lead the assault with your knife-fighting bots. Yes, you can still have a total knife-fighting hanger and still do good for your team. Someone has to be the first bot to lead a charge and die a quick and honourable death. 6. Run an Ancile Carnage and help your teammates live longer. Your teammates will appreciate you. 7. Hold down the fort. Get that Ancile Raijin and sit on important beacons. Yamantau comes to mind. Also doesn't have to be with that bot. Sometimes, one bot needs to stay behind to defend a beacon and deter reds from capturing it. Moon map centre beacon, the top level comes to mind. Stay behind and hold it up top so some red down below doesn't turn it back. It's a thankless job, but someone needs to do it. 8. Volunteer for dangerous missions. If there's a RDB Griffin or gekko Leo taking out half your team, gun for him and try to take him out. This will usually put you in range of multiple knife-fighters for red plus all their long range in the back. This isn't a suicide mission because you do need to take out your target. So you still need to play smart and approach carefully. 9. Drop in your support bots first like Treb Fury. Take out their long range. This is helping your team remove annoying snipers and RDB Griffins at the beginning of matches. If the match ends early, usually the knife-fighters on your team will outscore you. Doesn't work on long maps though. 10. Just to make this a top 10 list, I'll add one more for ya. Have fun. Don't be afraid to try different bots and set-ups. If you've always wanted to run a Rhino but lacks the skillz, do it. Ironically, I do all the opposite when I am going for damage and trying to move up in Masters. |

If you were trying to limit damage, the DB's are NOT the way to go. Should've loaded up on gekkos and spirals.
