I've decided I'm going to embrace ༒ƜƦƛƖƬӇ༒'s advice and find my happy place. Leveling up my gear and trying to embrace the meta isn't really changing my results. I'm finding that the difference between 400k damage/2 mechs killed/0 beacons and 1.1M damage/6 mechs/1 beacons is only about 70k silver. When I get frustrated trying to "play the right way" and get bent over by the MM or shoot air vs red hangers loaded with dashes, I'm going to turn to the max-annoyance hanger that I'm building. The premise is simple: annoy the reds as much as possible without causing undue harm to the blues. Unless are more annoying/damaging options, I'm looking at a variation of the following: - Aphid Patton
- Noricum Patton
- Sniper Leo -- Gekkos with a long range heavy that's still TBD
- Spydra Griffin
- 5th option that's TBD -- considering Zeus/Gekko Natasha, Zeus Carnage, Tempest/Molot Lance
Any recommended improvements are quite welcome.

Your 5th options are all actually good and not annoying.
I'd rather see you run a straight Gekko Pat instead of that Nori Pat and do this for 5th: Zenit/Norc Natty if you are trying to be trollish... or Hydra Fujin or Doc. Evil plan, this.

Awesome. I say go with Trebuchet on that sniper Leo.
You gave me an idea, too -- I'm gravely dissatisfied with my hydra Fujin, but I do have a spare Griff and a ton of Spirals that could revitalize my desire to annoy the crap out of reds. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Same question about the Hydra Doc. Gekko Pat vs Gekko/heavy Leo?

I'd previously planned on the Treb, but since the data seemed to point to Nashorn for greater overall damage over time, I figured I'd try out the Nashorn. After all, the Gekko is a longer duration weapon, thought Nashorn would pair up better.

I just wish more people could have fun capping beacons instead of trying to annoy the other side. To each is own I guess.

The thing about those, the spirals aren't that annoying the hydras are. More Hydras = More annoyance. Especially since if someone is running just all Hydras, they can shoot them off slowly, one at a time and it's like a constant never ending stream of piss-me-off. I like this idea. If I didn't have so much I was working on and planning on working on already I would start doing this too.. and I just may have start something like this. At least one of the forementioned bots in place of one I was thinking of starting.

Patton is fast and is not easily avoidable... makes keeping covered from it a lot harder. I won't say the Fujdra or the Hydroc are MORE obnoxious than Spydra Griffon, but they are more than the others in your 5th slot options. The Spydra can get away and make advancing on it VERY tough if they are good.

I read about the "deception factor" by a Hydra-Orkan Doc, and thought I'd try if I had a Doc.
annoy with hydras,
surprise anyone chasing you with Orkans,

A Noricum Patton can be extremely annoying when done right. Especially if the red releases the Noricums one at a time for a constant barrage.

I've gotten to the point where I keep at least one off the wall bot in my hanger to play, just so that I can get better at it. I usually pick one of the bots/weapons combo that people say are ineffective or not worth it, just to be able to prove common opinion wrong. When I first started, I did it with the molots and punishers, putting them on the Griffen and leveling them up. At the time, everyone said they weren't worth it, but I became effective with them. Then when the buff happened, you see them everywhere now. I did it next with the Noricums, working to "git gud" at KarateNori. The buff happened, and now you see them more frequently. I haven't figured out what the next meta opposite will be for me, but when I do, I'll start using it. Then, I'll champion it like I did the others. For me, that's the most fun I have.

THIS I was in a battle this am with 3 bronze lvl 2 players that were squadded.. BOTH were running lvl12 weapons on lvl1 bots.. BOTH had 6600 wins under their belts.. Ya get tired of the same ole thing.. My new attitude is, if PIX don't care then i don't.. You KNOW PIX knows of those accounts.. I have sent PIX the info on 3 of them and never got a reply.. So..

BTW.. a NORI/ZENIT NATTY is very effective.. VERY.. I would run it before I would throw Trebs on it..
The Dash Bots are soft when hit from above.. just sayin..

I ran a tri zenith fury yesterday (I was bored) and stood under CB on Moon and managed to take out a couple reds. I would have paid some Au to have seen that on the kill cam. That qualifies as a 'happy spot' I think--till a Griff found me that is.

I could see a Gekko/Hydra/Treb Golem being viable as a nuisance.

I wonder at something like a nori/gek Patton or similar. Seems like a pair of noris on a Griff with something medium or long range might be somewhat effective - tulu doesn't feel quite right. Maybe nori/hydra?

Not that I'll be able to afford one any time soon, but for those who can, and really want to [pee-pee] off their enemies, put Hydras on Kumiho or Haechi. Shoot and scoot. Shoot and scoot. Nobody would be able to catch the little [firetruck]ers.

I just wish more people could have fun capping beacons instead of trying to annoy the other side. To each is own I guess. Unfortunately, it has come down to the "If you can't beat them, join them" philosophy. People get fed up with being killed by a certain Meta so they decide to get back at said turkey by being like him/her. I got tired of being done in by Tridents so I bought one. Didn't help. I just started getting done in by Zeus. I had to get some of them. Now it's long distance shooters. And to combat them, I consider becoming like them. Same [poo-poo]. Different day.

I ran a Doc Hydra/Orkan on the Dreadnought map on the test server. The reds were down to one last brave soul who was way up top, out of reach of most weapons except my Hydras. They drove him out of his hiding place so that one of my teammates could finish him/her off. Very gratifying.

Your "happy spot" is a walnut shaped bump about two inches in and facing your belly.
You are welcome.

I don't want to be negative Nancy -- I'm trying to find my happy spot, I really am. But it's getting increasingly difficult. "Just go shoot up reds and see how much damage you can rack up" doesn't work when you've got half the red team in your face wiping out one bot after another because there's no safe place to spawn. It doesn't work when your do-nothing teammates won't go after beacons or leave spawn to engage reds, even with support. It doesn't work when you have a teammate next to or behind you who turns tail and runs at the first sign of a red. It doesn't work when every game is short a player on one side or the other. It doesn't work when you run up against a clan that outwardly calls themselves Seal Clubbers and fully lives up to that name (squad of Gold 2's with 11/12 hangars). It really doesn't work when trying to squad with your Diamond league clan constantly pits you against champions and masters.
When you have more games like this than not, it's very hard to find a happy spot. I'm trying, but I'll only bang my head against that wall for so long.

Several times, I've meched with a few minutes left. When time runs out, I'm the top scorer (or top three). I thought there were six of us in the match when we started. BR can be very frustrating. I may finish with a low capped beacon total, but it's certainly not for lack of trying. Even when I do make it to the red beacon, it seems to take forever to change color. And before it does, out pops a fresh Leo, Raijin, or Lance. And I'm standing there with one or two weapons left, and my Bot held together with baling wire and duct tape, and having just started my weapon's reload cycle.
