When the new league system came on board, I was in Silver 2. 20% of the time, I would face at least one opponent with lvl 10+ gear and bots that would send my llvl 6/7 stuff to the scrap heap quickly. By the time I reached Gold 3, I began using a 3 fold strategy to advance. Assuming you play a block of time, your opponents will be similar, so ...
First, if my opponents were regularly superior, I would use 2 RDBs and dance at range; playing wing man to my teammates.
Second, if my teammates were lazy - I would deploy a stalker or Gareth mid to late match to pull in the win through beacons (old domination mode). That was highly effective - win rates usually around 70%. The only problem this created was I advanced to diamond league too quickly... I then adjusted down until my upgrades put me in a more competitive mode.
Third, to brake any losing streak of more than 3 games, I would shake up the lineup to all cappers or all brawlers to clear the fog of why I was losing. It worked almost 80% of the time. I could suddenly see where I was lacking. If I just noticed that I was just sucking; I would rejoin the real world and play at another time.
Currently, I wanted to push to Diamond 1, so I put in a tactical strike team with 2 in your face brawlers - win rates back to almost 70%.
With Beacon Rush - you can try to muscle your way up by just going all damage, but I never really tried that.

I recently went on a bad losing streak after the last league season reset. I went from Diamond 3 to Gold 1. Down in G1, it was like Groundhog Day. It's gotta be THEE worst league ever. Fading & tanking are pervasive down there. I had a hard time clawing my way back up. It is now my mission to stay above Gold league on my main account.

Are you in a clan? If not, maybe its time to consider one. In a clan but I guess I need to find another that's active in my time zone... Haven't given that much thought as of yet... You might wanna check us out, Glycerin Squad, sister clan of Nitro Squad. Mostly gold pilots and a few silver and diamond. Hang around for a weekend or two and see if you'll like it. If not, then, we thank you for visiting us anyway.

And finally with practice comes reward That's one good reasoning that's hard to argue with! I'm learning to deal with this now, was on a major losing streak a while back! Guess I have to start paying more attention to the team and see how I can work with them better. I know I'm trying to support and also engage when I think its right, but let me try out what you've suggested and see if things improve. I've been juggling various combination of bots/weapons to see how it impacts the battle... I'm sure this is gonna take me some time!

Having skills and being in a league is two separate things. The players that you are facing with have pretty much hit they're limiter on their skill. Just keep playing and keep trying.

I haven't tried an all cappers hanger as of yet, will give it a shot. it's an interesting strategy, usually I deploy one long range no matter what to take down other long range bots, usually Natasha with 2x Trubechets / 2x gekko or 2x Nashorn / 2x gekko...

I've been checking my team / opponent teams and have realized that most of the time they are either at the same level with better weapons or higher than me... I have to upgrade weapons / bots and my skill to match them... All in good time!

Trust me when I say "it's your fault" . That's not a dig on you. I'm just saying you have not learned to read non verbal ques and have battlefield awareness required to advance. Earlier I broke 1m damage not a few hours ago. And that's when my score ballooned. That was the moment I was better than diamond league players. But in order to enter expert, I need to be better than expert league players . I'm close. I expect I'll break, and hold permanently, this time my expert rating over the next week Your skills will improve dramatically when you accept responsibility for your failures instead of blaming others. I really like this attitude! When I realized that every time I lose my connection to the game I show up on the bottom of the table as tanker or a fader, I stopped getting pissed off at them. Now I assume nobody is deliberately tanking and that everybody is doing their best with what he's (/she's) got. They're reading the game best they can and trying for a win. I also do some stupid stuff like walking away from beacon that's white before its fully blue and only realize when I'm 200m away.
If the team loses I'm generally just aware of where I screwed up and what I did that contributed to the loss. I played a long tough match at Canyon last night that ended as a 1on1 with my Aphid Orkan Griff up against a Zeus Carnage. I should've smoked him but I got over confident, jumped too close and got myself killed. I was imaging any fellow blues watching the end of the battle thinking, "Yay, we got it!" and then... "What an @55!"
Most games I could do better and every kill instead of a fail, and every beacon capped, can be a decider.
I watched this guy stay in his Gekko Patton the whole match while I meched-out at SF. We lost by a hair and I felt he should have baled and come out in something to cap beacons. At the end of the game he had 8 kills and 2nd highest damage. Without him we might not have even been in with a chance.
As my mother said to be 1000 times - "Just worry about yourself, my boy."

Great advice. There's a lot to the game. I'm not as good with my physical skills as I want to or can be. I don't have the meta yet (like...bailing being a thing). I don't have the situational awareness of a top player (yet). My hanger isn't optimized, or even fully competitive, yet. I learn something ever game, and hopefully seldom *hurt* my team.

And finally with practice comes reward This is not a judgement...how much real money are you spending? You're 9/9 with 1000 wins and 5 slots and you already have all three Korean bots plus three Scourge at 9!
