So it's been 2 weeks since I made the Gold League III and II but I've been constantly loosing even after making over 8M damage! My avg is between 4-6M damage... It's not the amount of damage and losing that's upsetting but the fact that many times I see players who hold back, or play like noobs here. I've had matches where players just ignore all strategy and beacon control and try to win matches by brute force - fire power only... And this happens more often than not. Which leads me think that this is either players tanking or players who paid to hit gold and didn't get much experience doing it...  bottom line: this sucks all the fun out of the game! |

Are you Android or iOS? Two things, one, wins and losses come in streaks. The MM will pick up your losses and lower damage and your rating will drop, others will rise and your games will get easier until you're in the right spot for your current hangar & skill level.
The 2nd thing is your weapons and bots; you have a choice: either build a meta hangar and climb the leagues or play your own game, ignore the leagues and your ranking and the MM will keep you where your games are 50% wins and your damage is relevant.
Regarding players who don't cap - yeah, that's a PINTA and comes with the lower leagues but you'll quickly play yourself out of there. Take the opportunity to cap most beacons, you still have a 50/50 chance of being on the winning team and scoring 5 gold and the extra ranking points.
Not that Gold id a low league btw, and the its a fun level too. Diamond and Expert get very meta, and you start to get placed in teams that have Masters and Champs - they're a PINTA! |

My win rate always floating between 40%-60 or 70%. Having 15'streak win or lose is very normal for me, but if you are doing top damage in your team? You will still gain league rating, not as much as Winning, but still a + rating. I gain 400 league rating when my winning rate drop from 70% to 40%.

Gold is the worst league. Too mby players who don't want to cap, just want to fire their guns in the air . Buy some Galahad and leave that league behind you. Otherwise you will risk hating the game and leaving .
Better to face master league players and learn to be pro, rather than face savages who drag you down to their level and force you to act like them in order to be the highest scoring loser

I'm pretty sure that you can't say you made over 8M damage or even 4-6M damage per match indikid . M is generally considered a million. Maybe you might be referring to thousands which would be referred to as thousands or K. Ex. 800 thousand, 800k, or 800,000. Not gonna lie, being a complete nitpicker here. Haha! No harm intended.  You are right though Gold is a trick to get though. You might post your hanger either here or in the tips and advice section of the forum and there are a bunch of peeps who can help you out with good advice! Happy hunting!! LESSON: Play your game, play your best and the rest will come to you. |

I'm in expert 2 now and yet people still don't capture beacons in most of my battles, are they allergic to them?

In Diamond 1 beacons are capped just fine, and 80% of the players have the decency to care about them. Unless you're referring to suicide missions like center beacon on SZ, don't do them myself and don't blame anyone for not trying. Now, my pet account on FB gameroom, well - players just walking past red beacons after killing the red who turned them is the norm and not the exception. And if I occupy 5 of the 6 reds for a minute with a flanking RDB then you can bet that none of the remaining red beacons have been turned, because my teammates have - what, fired Zenits? Something like that. |

Welcome to the league system that places only value on damage, and the "new" matchmaking. People either try to climb leagues by ignoring beacons and going for damage, or they try to tank. This thread helped me. I made gold (III) and immediately saw a drop in the skill level of my average teammate. It was like nobody knew beacons were important. I'll keep plowing along until I get past it. Can you drop back? Not that I want to, but the string of losses may force it.
Time of day makes a difference, too. The later it gets, the less I see bad players with names like '@sshat Bot', and the better play gets. If I lose, I want it to be because I got smoked by a better player!

Essentially you're accepting a 4-slot hangar by doing that, for what - getting to a beacon 10 seconds earlier? There is one situation where this is justified, and one only: Yama with the center beacon, as this is a huge strategical advantage. But I wouldn't carry a robot that is useful only on 16% of the maps. |

If you're doing more damage than your teams, then you'll earn league points and climb the league ladder. I actually like the Gold league. There are many players who are at my skill level with equivalent bot and weapon levels. Lately though, there's been a lot of maxed weapons - especially gekkos and high level spirals and hydras. I take it all in stride though. With most of my bots and weapons at 7, I'm not quite ready for diamond league (even though I'm bouncing back and forth between gold 1 and diamond 3 these days).

It's full of nothing but idiots and tankers I get that feeling too...! Just lost a 3 matches where I kept capturing beacons only to look back and see that the team had lost another one...  Can't complain through, should take it in stride and try and compensate... I guess!  |

Yes. It will be. Gold is THE WORST. Here is an example tho, note my win ratio 70% and my score 3k  Now note my win, 54% and my score 3.2k  My weapons have IMPROVED. So what gives? The enemy weapons are already at 12. Almost every game. I even had a pub game with Adrian yesterday. My win ratio has gone down, because the meta skills of my opponents has increased and I am learning to cope with it. They aren't cheating. My hangar is every bit as strong as theirs. I have s good hangar. I have everything at my disposal, save level 12 weapons and their meta skills. They beat me because they DESERVE to beat me. I am inferior. When I learn the last set of skills for this league I will advance. They aren't defined by pixonic, they naturally group this way together by ladder ranking. That's the skill you need to learn in gold. It's not "me", it's "team" |

Trust me when I say "it's your fault" . That's not a dig on you. I'm just saying you have not learned to read non verbal ques and have battlefield awareness required to advance.
Earlier I broke 1m damage not a few hours ago. And that's when my score ballooned. That was the moment I was better than diamond league players. But in order to enter expert, I need to be better than expert league players . I'm close. I expect I'll break, and hold permanently, this time my expert rating over the next week
Your skills will improve dramatically when you accept responsibility for your failures instead of blaming others.
