Dense?? This is quite comical. You're awfully condescending and are the one who seems to think I said we would be able to mount heavy weapons on light/medium hardpoints which is not something I ever say, in fact I presented Pixonic rep's own words that show exactly that. You seem to fail to grasp that we are essentially saying the same thing, except you created a perceiveddifference. You misunderstood what I said, which does not contradict what you were told at all, yet you jumped in and attacked me and called me dense when I've been correct. Ironically, your failure to comprehend what I said when I said essentially the same thing as you makes you the dense one. We are getting six prototype weapons for testing, each using the current Treb assets, each fire like a treb from short to medium to long range, only the long range ones are truly mini trebs. Whichever survive the testing process will get their own assets. Assets are the actual visual model used, maybe you are just confused by that word and needed the definition explained to you. You're right, and he's technically not trying to prove you wrong, he's proving another interpretation right. So let's just share our own opinions, granting others your patience when they share their perspective on the information that we have the right to share. Hooo my god I swear I said that. And it looks like I managed to trigger someone without even speaking to there face. I already said thst you were entitled to your opinion, bruv.

I take my previous comment back. Sat in 2 of my Rhinos with prototype #2 (midrange one). Ended up with 8 kills and 1.08M damage

Sorry to jump into your arguments gents, LOL, just a question: the test server is basically available for just 3 hours each day, yeah?
And when are they going to post the link to the feedback form?
It's my first time on test server, so yeah.
Also... Does anyone have any ideas on what the rewards for painstakingly editing and posting videos to Youtube are?

I love the mid-range weapons. They're (for the first time) an effective counter to the Zeus and Tridents. I knew I recognized that name! You just blasted me to pieces ^_^ Great strats, got outclassed but that's because I'm a terrible sniper and I was testing ALL the new potato guns and couldn't remember which bot had which range... LOL...that's why my bots had different skins; so I could tell which one had which guns. ? Thanks mate. You did a good job yourself.

The email & Hockey App notification should both contain a link to the surveys. As for the availability times, it doesn't matter what time-zone you are in, there are no regional restrictions. When the servers are open, they are open to the globe. For me on the US West Coast, the test servers are open mid-day for several hours in a row because the sessions run into each other. Hopefully that time period isn't in the middle of the night wherever you are.

Played for a while last night on the test server. With regards to the various prototypes, in my opinion:
The short range variants provide little that the Magnum/Taran don't already cover. Granted, you get a bit more "instant" damage for ambushers (which of course you can get with Aphids), but you're still going to by stymied by the shieldbots.
The long range variants also add little that the Gekkos don't already do. Granted, it makes the Natasha just as effective as a Fury, bumping the long range game isn't going to make much of a change. If they're intending for the weapons to be silver, then there's a place for them here, but other than that, less useful.
Their strength is the mid-game. At the 600m range, you're engaging at the same range as Tridents and Zeus, and outranging the Tulumbas/PINs. If they added them as-is here, in both light and medium variants, a LLMM Griffin or MMMM Doc build would make for an excellent counter-support build, with RDBs and Trident Furies as the primary target, secondary targets being the Stalkers and Gepards. That said, this is definitely going to require another round of testing once Pixonic downselects from the current options. Having the potential of up to 75600 HP disappearing in short order from a Doc double tap is only going to increase the proliferation of the shield bots.

I'm on android. For my first time, I applied for the test server. I've downloaded and installed the Hockey app yet, the War Robots test app will not install. Any ideas?

The mid range and 1100m prototype are great, can't wait.
I have tarans, but don't use them. If the new prototypes I don't ever see myself using tarans again.

Put some more time in on the test server. The more I play, the more I think if either the short or medium range versions of the prototype weapons are implemented as is, they're going to become the dominant force in the game. Long range is identical to the existing Trebuchet, so not much difference there.
Short range, I was running a Griffin, mid range I was running a Doc. Anything in range that didn't have a physical shield/stealth was as good as dead, provided I had a modicum of cover. The fact that you don't need to steer your aim as you do damage is extremely easy to poke out and take 3/4 of the health off of your target while you're getting back into cover. It wasn't apparent to me how much skill steering an Orkan/Pinata, Tulumbas/PIN, or even a Taran/Magnum is needed until I didn't have to.
With the only shielded bots that can shoot while protecting themselves are either Gold or WSP (and the latter sacrificing firepower for protection), a bot equipped with either of the short or medium range prototypes is going to completely overwhelm any of the silver only bots out there. It felt like I was playing Instagib Unreal Tournament again, except only a few of us had the instagib rifle. Damage on these needs to be waaaaaaaaaay rolled back. Bluntly put, I think Pixonic would be better off reworking the bullet weapons for the near/mid range rather than introducing either of these prototypes as is in those ranges.
That said, my opinion only. I encourage anyone else on the test server to come to their own conclusion and tell me I'm wrong.
On the bright side, I'm rather happy with the other changes they have running. The Aphids don't loft nearly as much as they did but are still quite powerful when they hit (good thing in my opinion), and the Ancile actually does what it's supposed to. Taran/Ancile Lancelot is going to be a tough nut to crack.

Taran/Ancile Lancelot is going to be a tough nut to crack. Ha! Those F'ers are wrecking me! I finally resorted to switching some of my bots to splash damage to counter them. Taran/Orkan interchangeable tho, either way boom-boom-splat-dead.

For those in the test server: do they function like Trebs, or are they just placeholder models?

They function exactly like Trebs except the variations in range and damage potential. I'm sure the devs will come up with a prettier model to use if these new guns go live.
It is kinda funny seeing 3 heavy Treb *3D models* on a Geppard tho, looks like it should be constantly falling over, like a baby trying to learn to walk ^_^

No, we aren't putting heavy weapons in light slots. What is happening is that six variants of the Trebuchet will soon make it to the test server to be used in light and medium slots, and only those slots. Think of them like ECUs. Share your thoughts! So a catapult and a slingshot ?

I rather see a light zeus-like weapon and attach 3 of these each to my 5 gepard hangar and it will be an electrifying game experience.

EDIT: And on topic.... They should definitely not leave them functioning and/or looking like Trebs. The game has a certain consistent art direction and rainbow balls of plasma flying everywhere don't exactly fit into it. Here's to hoping they change how the payload looks.
