...without getting bumped up to the next level? Is it 7/9 or is there a MM penatlty??? I will have a workshop bot next week so it is worth mentioning that as well.

MM penalty is supposed to apply to *all* bots in your hangar, so you should be able to go 7/9. Might want to test that out with other weapons, though. I use 7/8 Galahads with 6/7 heavies on my secondary account, and that is very "High Silver'ish".

I used 7/9 with 6/8. No problem. I then went to 6/9 for the heavies and haven't had any major opponent changes either.

6 / 8 with 6 / 8 Galahad will put you in low gold, but the players in low gold have bad hangars

6/8 Ag heavies is actually HS... 6/9 is supposed to be LG (I am pretty sure... but who the Hell really knows??) but the border between them is so murky... the main difference I see is the levels, (Lots more level 8 bots with 5-9 level weapons, as opposed to mostly level 6 bots with 5-8 weapon levels) definitely am not seeing skill improvements... on the whole, anyway.
To answer OP's question, it is widely believed that the MM penalty doesn't seem to affect anything after HS. As to the validity of this statement, I can only say that my Ag heavies are 6/9, my Galas are 7/9, and my Ag mediums are both 7/9 and 8/9, and I see no difference from when I had everything at 6/9.
I, personally, am now convinced that you can treat Galahads as a normal medium once in HS/LG...
I don't know for sure, but I have heard that that means you can run them at 8/10, lights at 10/12, and still be in the same tier... As far as how MM sits today.
But like was said... MM is about to change. I assume it will still take into account your bot and weapon levels and win %, as it wouldn't make sense for a high or 100% win rate in low bronze to kick you up to gold tier... high bronze or low silver, maybe, but kicking up a lot of tiers for doing well seems silly. I hope the aim is to find better opponents and team mates in and around your own tier to match you up against and with, but we will see.

I was running two 7/9 Galahads with 6/9 heavies for a while. I upgraded the Galahads to 8/9 but kept heavies 6/9 and still in HS/LG. No WSP pots in that hanger though.

There are no defined tier boundries past low silver and MM rubberbands hard at that point, so functionally you will get very similar matches with a 6/8 hangar as you would with a 7/9 one. I feel that I have actually gotten easier matches with a 7/8-9 hangar than with a 6/7 one.

That is funny. I got the same problem at high bronze. My meds are all 4\6. Worked fine. I added a penalty bot. Light, not med, but also 4\6. Worked fine. I almost doubted the penalty. Nothing changed. Well, now my win rate grew higher. I moved up a tier. My win rate reached 80%! I moved up another tier.
My guess is, pix changed the MM, trying out its usefullness. Testing it. Probing it. Well, maybe poking it.
And in the case, you couldn't figure it out: My favorite is the Gareth!

I have a 6/8 heavy hanger with both a 7/8 Galahad & Carnage. I finished leveling 3 weps on my Tulu/Pins Griffins and have 1 lvl 9 on the other 3 heavys and 1 Thunder for the Carnage (starting to get $$$). I have not seen any change in MM. I have been waiting for MM to thump me hard as my win rate has been steady in low 80's since the end of the event and still hasnt happened?
Is there any firm date on new MM release?
