... for the 「wee-wee」head campers to invade beacon rush.
I guess they got tired of shooting each other in regular play so they can come ruin the game mode that they contribute even less in. Nothing like being the only player trying to get beacons in a game called BEACON RUSH. 「fluffernutter」ers.

You knew it was only a matter of time! Beacon rush is still pretty new to the masses, so I suspect there's still a lot of trial-and-error going on, and camping is just part of that. Hopefully they'll realize how ineffective it is in this mode and end the abhorrent practice... though they still haven't caught on to its limited usefulness in normal mode, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

OMG, just had a match on the moon and an idiot started with a Treb Butch. Can anyone guess how this turned out? He stayed in the f-ing thing for awhile too. D-bag!

Mostly I agree... but... I will say that on one SF match I was in, we were absolutely dominated by a clan squad that had a Treb Fury. He knew the sightlines and supported his team, perfectly. If we spawned at center to defend... he was right there across the riverbed to blast us, immediately. Their runners kept pressure on us... so it was not just a matter of "go get the Fury" since we needed every last bot to hold what we had. In that case, another sniper or an anti-sniper build would have been the only way to deal with it. It sucked because even if we were starting to push back a wave... WHAM! a triple Treb shot would hit and erase a bot, almost always turning the tide to their favor for that engagement.
However... that was the exception... I have had plenty of those matches y'all refer to in this thread, yes even on short maps in Beacon Rush, where the Blues were mostly campers on the FIRST SPAWN! Maddening. Absolutely maddening. You can't take a beacon if you stay at home.

Pixonic is guilty of starting this trend. The 2 ways to win a game are Beacon Control and Eliminating the enemy robots, BUT how pilots are ranked post game is determined BY DAMAGE ALONE. Beacon Control does NOT factor in at all. So right now a pilot who did the most damage but caps no beacons is at the top. If they had a method of counting kills AND beacons to determining how a pilot did that would be fair. Though they could fix ALL of this if they released freakin' Deathmatch RIGHT NOW.

This was the start of one of my games. I cannot remember if it was Beacon Rush. I think we won, but it took a while. What's wrong with this picture? There are 5 freaking sniper bots! I'm the only one NOT in a sniper bot!

It's a two sided problem. Ranged weapons are pretty overpowered. Actually, let me narrow that down, trebs are overpowered, and rediculously easy to use. Add that to the damage for score issue stated above and there you have it.
Uggh. My beloved beacon rush, you had such promise.

I've been tempted to dust off my trebs (I have 2) and gekkos (I have 3) and my Natashas (have 2), and slap together a sniper bot too. But it's soooooo boring! Plus, my trebs and gekkos are really low, practically stock levels and I'd rather spend that time upgrading weapons and bots I actually like using. I guess the best response to sniper bots is to have at least 1 bot in your hangar that has a physical shield, and then you're laughing. I remember one game, in my Punishad, I was taking fire from 2 snipers while I was hammering a Leo between 350 and 400m. Took out the Leo and made it to cover with only scratches. Balanced against this experience was the time on Yamantau when my RDB Griffin was targetted by 2 - 3 sniper bots and it was toast before I could even fire off a shot or make it to cover. Grrrr.... thems the breaks I guess.

As with Tridents and nearly any heavy slot weapon, they are only OP when on a Fury and to a certain extent the Butch. It's not the weapon. It's the BOT that it's on. Nobody complains about the Treb when it's on a Schutze.

Treb on a Shutze...I'd love to face off against that bot! Should be a fun game of hide and seek.

Feel like I'm playing frogger.

Sorry bro. I disagree. This game is just as much about tactical awareness, using the right bot at the right time etc... of course it's harder if you are not in a squad, but even then there are tricks.
Use cover well, move out of cover after you have seen the trebs fired. Use your random team mates as bait or decoys. Use shieldbots. Run sideways in a Gareth or Galahad. There are many things you can do.

Feel like I'm playing frogger. Only time I have problems with Treb use is if they spawn in a way that allows them to shoot at us at our spawn... but even then... I now spawn with Shield bots on those spawn points... if at all possible. Like SuperHero said... awareness at all times is key. So, say, for example, if on Yam where we have to walk 100m to get into range of targeting (and therefore Treb range) of Reds and I am in a Griff with the intention of ramp hopping center... I stay behind the closest cover to the edge that I can get to and wait for that first blast from the red's side before making the transition from the platform to the tundra in between the CB and our platform. Like he said, again, use your teammates! Hopefully that teammate is in a shield bot and they have it angled at the Yellow Beast's Eyes of Death and take no damage... but either way you are likely to have a chance to move without getting hit. Then, once down there, you can use the structure around CB itself as cover. You may have to angle some to keep them from being able to shoot you... but still... not near as exposed as up on the platform. Granted, if they are using KDs or Nashorns, you won't see a tell-tale like you would with the charged Treb... so you have to take some risk... but overall, so far, KD buff hasn't had an impact on the amount of them we see... (I will change that soon... hehe... Butch is almost ready... then 2nd KD will begin it's path to level 9. 10% buff I think it was??? Not drastic... but maybe just enough to make it useable. ) Either way, no stress... there are ways to counter the Snipers... be patient and try whatever you can to mitigate the danger. If you need specific advice about a map, situation, or spawn... PM a few of us or start a thread about it! I don't see too many specific tactical issues being posted about anymore but they do happen... deadmofo just posted one about battling a Zeus Fury festival at Shen recently, and several folk weighed in. There are plenty of folk who have experience with that, so maybe something can be absorbed and help you in the guaranteed flow of answers that would come your way! IMO, YMMV

Campers and tankers. What better way than to not leave spawning area and wait to be invaded. You lot 'suck'
