Must you stare at the clock ? You could play another cute addicting freemium game while you wait 2 days . You get nothing tangible from speeding up time and there are always an endless upgrades line up hanging over our heads.
You could have bought a nice paint job for that gold . Save a bit more and you can buy a gold weapon or gold bot . Dont forget that elusive annoying 5th slot . 3 out of 4 very good reasons to wait .
Been playing freemium games for a few years and the ONE universal rule is never spend premium currency to speed up time . These silly games are games of patience at their core. If you not going to cough up cash , you are in for the very long haul.

Pbbbt! Rules were made to be broken, and "common wisdom" just means it applies to most, not all... Do whatever makes you happy. Just TRY to be smart about it.

Great table that! Now where is the one for weapons ;) Got no table, but the Gold amount is accounted for "time" only. So any weapon\bot at any level would take same amount of gold, if it's the same time to upgrade. (hypothetical numbers) I.e. if some "bot" is taking 4 hours to take from lvl5 to lvl6, and some "weapon" is taking 4 hours to take from lvl10 to lvl12 - amount of Gold would be the same.

You could have bought a nice paint job for that gold . A paint job? ... have you seen most of them ?... A carnage that looks like a cheap 「strong independent woman who don't need no man」 ... a Lancelot that has suddenly gone low res ... a St Patrick's day Griffin ... a Giggling shark Griffin? If I were to have a paint job I would like it to make the bot more discrete I guess I could buy Geckos to make a Disco Patton... Might be fun for a couple of matches

Right now I have all the gold weapons & bots that I want, so I just use my daily gold earnings to speed upgrades. Usually by the time I have enough gold to finish the current upgrade I also have enough silver to start the next one, so I can keep the clock ticking in my favor. That may not be the case once I start leveling everything from 11 to 12, though.

I know the collective wisdom is not to blow Au on upgrades .... but ... I am in the 9/10 zone for upgrades and some of them take 3 days... so what is wrong with blowing 500 Au to speed an upgrade that will take another 2days 10h ... I have lots of bots & weps (not everything but a reasonable selection) I am racing through the silver too; a month or so ago I had 137 million ... now down to 35 Million while still earning at a decent rate I suppose not speeding up the upgrade gives you more time to earn Ag In terms of Minutes saved per Au you are better off speeding up upgrade right away. And here is a bonus picture for you: I concur... the most bang for your buck is immediately upon pressing upgrade. Can't always do that though...

Maybe I sit corrected and it could actually be a viable option for players who are Au-rich and Ag-poor?

Dash bots on the horizon, save your gold just in case. Start a facebook gameroom account if you have to, that'll entertain you while you wait for your upgrades.

So... in the world of War Robots the adage "Time is gold" is on a case to case basis?

Yep, if you got TONS of gold - you can basically upgrade your entire hangar without blowing loads of Silver. You just need to start some 「dookie」ty upgrade (like level 1-2 weapon\bot) so your upgrade slot will be busy, and keep upgrading everything else. It is upgraded at INSTANT, and with NO SILVER. But is VERY VERY VERY expensive.

I absolutely agree on the low res lancelot male bovine fertilizer paintjob . Other paintjobs are sweet . Tiger and Cobra Carnage are epic . If i owned or cared about grifs i would buy that St Patricks day paintjob in a heartbeat .

Natasha is 800Au OR 1,000,000 Silver and a day OR 1,000,000 Silver and 350 Au. So basically for 800-350 = 450 Au you are saving 1 day PLUS 1,000,000 Silver. Say, 2x500K silver = 500 Au (worst case scenario) or 370 Au (bulk price). It's say it looks like a real bargain! 1) You spend 370 Au to buy 1,000,000 Silver, then spend this Silver +1 day to upgrade the bot = 370 Au +1day2) You spend 500 (370) Au to buy 1,000,000 Silver, then start the upgrade and finish it right away for 350 Au = 870 Au (720 bulk price) 3) You spend 800 Au to upgrade it at instant = 800 AuSo if you are buying 50,000,000 Silver for 18,500 Au you are better off with spending Silver+Speed up. If you are buying small amount - you are better off spending Au at instant.

Lance to 11 speed up is 739au 15 mil silver cost 5600au - between them = 6339au Identical based on the most obvious 15 mil silver price (not more or less expensive).

WOW! I just tried to help you by giving advice on how to upgrade, the easy way .. and you attack me!? Just WOW! I am commenting that you have said, and I quote "Look to see how much Silver it costs to upgrade from L11 - L12. Then earn that much " In one day? two? I have already said that at my current spending and earning I will run out in 7 weeks. The only thing to mitagate that is premium. Just as an example from 11 to 12 as you said (and I'm going to 11 now, not 12) 6 orks at 23mil a piece. 138 mil in 26 days. I earn 15 mil a week. That's 78 mil short!! I have done the calculations - you haven't. Chill dude he's only giving friendly advise - ignore it if you don't like it

I'm so silver poor it's ridiculous. Gold I have 7.5k but will save that for bots or Tempest or something fun.
Lack of Silver is the killer. As someone pointed out not much point spending gold if you then run out of silver and have to wait an eternity to replenish. Makes sense to use the wait time to get silver stocks higher

Yep, it gets cheaper the more silver you need, due to bulk price discount. So basically, IF you are to pay with RM for everything - you are better off just buying and using Gold. That's nice.
