Hi, I'm interested how you handle games with tankers. When you see: - one of your teammates quit after one bot and you are fighting from the beginning with one player less - you see that one of the reds is a tanker ( extreme too strong or You see it because clan name, I know some clans tanking often)
Do you quit the game immediately?

I keep playing - support my team etc. No point qutting like they just have.
Bots that are doing anything get pushed around and used as shields etc.

If my teammates leave early on I still play for the win, but if it's obvious we're outmatched, I just try to achieve as much damage as possible in order to minimise the impact on my ranking. I am always up against tanking players or players with too much money to spend, so I'm outmatched more often than not. It's really does wear on me sometimes. Yesterday I was matched up in this game: The red team are all from the same clan, all Champion League, and all with maxed hangars. We had one Champion, one master, and the rest of us were Expert 2 or 3. Just depressing. It's my biggest gripe against this game. But again I'd rather maximise my damage to minimise the impact on my league ranking than quit altogether. I have a clanmate who went to Leavers Queue because he only played maps he liked. He is now in Champion League because he has artificially inflated his stats from playing matches in LQ and now I can't even Squad with him. I told him directly that his actions have negatively impacted the clan, which consists mainly of Diamond players. When he was in Expert League he used to really boost us in squadding. Now we can't play with him without getting annihilated by all Champs. So the choice is yours. I hear you, it can be super frustrating. I still think it's better to just play for max damage in the games that are lost before they've begun.

In the most cases I agree with you and when I see that there is a chance to have fun in a match I stay. But after I know the game better its hard to play a match when I know its no way to win. The game isnt frusrating at all, only maybe every 5th game is for nothing. I dont like to be food for tankers and I dont like to try to win a game when one player left at the beginning. Its only interesting for me to know how other gamers are handling this.

I continue to fight.
One Match, everyone on Blue, except me, abandoned the Match. I lasted two-and-a-half minutes - running mostly - but I got three of the enemy.

Tanker ditches in game: fight on. Rarely, your team can get a win. Maybe the reds have a fader. At least you'll get some silver.
Tanker playing to win: doesn't make a difference. I can't tell during the game if a player with max bots is a tanker in my league or a fair fighter 3 leagues above me. I assume most tankers head south of Expert because they don't want to run into players with equal hangar strength.
Pick 5 bots and a good weapon load out and get it to 9-10 and you'll be less screwed by unbalanced matches. Then bring up the "fun" gear in the background or one bot / loadout at a time.

I NEVER QUIT, except for real life interruptions (phone call, boss, wife, etc).
Even when down a man or two and outmatched, I give it all I've got, try and make red remember my name.

First off, I never quit games. The LQ doesn't care if there's a good reason for leaving a game or not, only if you leave games.
If I see my team down a player very early, or actually any time it looks like it's gotten hopelessly out of hand, I'll just throw caution to the wind and go balls to the wall going after and shooting everything in sight with reckless abandon, mainly to just end it faster.

I don't leave either, like Danny Linguini said, I don't want to end up in the LQ. But also, I lose a lot of games. If there are tankers in a game and I know I'm going to lose, it actually gives me a better chance to at least get positive League points. I know a lot of people say "don't play for the leagues", but I'm aiming to see how high I can get. Plus, the extra gold for moving up and at the end of each season doesn't hurt.

Fight on. Unlike the old days when you could side step mag geps all day long by simply leaving the match as soon as you heard the cacophony of pewpewpewpewpew in the distance, nowadays you get punished if you bail out. And I've no wish to be a punching bag in the LQ.

I don't blame people for bailing early. Nobody likes being Loki vs. Hulk; Iraq vs. USA. Where's the skill/lesson in getting barbecued on a spit (with extra sauce) and doing a *puny* 8000 damage in return? The matchmaker is seriously flawed, and I've had a lvl 8 Rhino wiped out in seconds < 40 seconds into a match. I didn't even reach the nearest beacon from the spawn (parking lot beacon in Shentzen), nor get more than a few rockets off. Ridiculous, especially since that was my best bot...all downhill from there, folks. I've been in another match where the team was so feckless our spawn got overrun by 3 reds (3-4 blues still in the queue) and all 5 beacons were taken. I stayed a spectator, since my last bot was a sniper Golem, going against a ThunCarnage, Ancilot, and a Ork Rog...and I'll admit, it was a bit of sweet revenge since nobody helped take or hold the center beacon, even the campers. A receding tide sinks all ships...
A punching bag in a regular match or a punching bag in Leavers Queue is a punching bag all the same. Why waste everyone's time if you're hopelessly outmatched? You get a lifetime supply of...[nothing]...for being the last "Texan" holding the proverbial Alamo...that's just self-aggrandizing rubbish...nobody knows or cares about that. Besides, a lot of people lose connections mid-game, and I've lost a number of bots/matches by freezing up in the middle of an attack/capping/retreat/flanking and either getting picked off or forced to "return to hangar".
It doesn't bother me...either way, for all of the above reasons.

Even if I know my team is losing, the silver earnings in the end is still worth for me.

Well I use 5 lvl 1 Cossacks and destroy the first 4 then kamikaze the last one while squirting enemies with lvl 1 Molot MkII.

I try to win the match just to spite the tanker. That and it's good practice.

Nope, just play on. Take this time to charge like a madman! Be the Spartan your team needs!! They should have like melee plasma swords like attack range 10m, damage of 50k, 1 swing per second! GO GARRYTANS!!

I usually think: More for me!
But seriously, despite your best efforts, having a tanker will significantly reduce your chance of winning. I don't quit cause I feel bad for the rest of my team.
Sure, there have been games when I had to bust my butt even more to make up for a missing player, scoring as much as 3 times higher than my teammates, and in the end ... winning (plug heavenly ahhs). But sadly, this is anecdotal; you will often lose.
Alternatively, you can't really bask in your victory either when the tanker's on the other team.

If you see a tank, play harder, forget the win and go for the damage.

I shrug my shoulders after the match, maybe roast some, and I have another go. To me it's been around for a while now. I'm not going to waste a whole lot of time worrying, pissing, or moaning about something I can't control. I think it's kind of a waste of energy at this point. Live with it, or leave...a great quote from some obscure flick.

If you immediately quit the game, you are just sinking to their level. I just play twice as hard. And if someone on the other team tanks, I am happy because my team has an advantage.

Just continue play. I will ensure my team win since I don't know if I did enough damage to be on top 2. Worst case scenario someone will think they had done enough damage but unfortunately not. So it is best to play as usual and try to win (even if you know it's an uphill battle)

I'm sorry but tankers have been ruining my game for months now and its them that have a saying over my league standing. Which is why i don't bother with league anymore. Last I looked I was in champions league 20 after being No.1 in champions league 1. Its not nice spawning at home only to have 3-5 reds waiting to obliterate you as soon as your feet hits the ground. Now if they tank I leave. No fun fighting in a match been out numbered and already know the outcome. Average time per game less than 3mins because of tankers. Its not all one way btw and its just as annoying when the reds tank. Example>>>

Blue tanker = shield or rocket bait. Red tanker = extra damage for free. There's a silver lining in every cloud. Why stress over things you can't do anything about. There's way more things in this game to get frustrated over, ie, lag, teleporting bots, reds with maxed bots and weapons.

I play normally if there was one blue tanker, if more then I instantly forget about beacons and focus on doing the highest damage i can do. If red tankers then I just play normally.
