I am currently running my lvl 9 Carnage with dual Tempests, I have them currently at lvl 8 and am starting to have some fun as the dmg. increases. Dual Thunders are cool but are only effective at closer combat and even though Carnage has a shield it doesn't seem to hold up well in close combat. What are your experiences or suggestions for Carnage? I am sorry if there are other posts on this question, I'm new to the game and this forum and still learning.

Welcome to the forum! I'm fairly new here as well. Lots of things to learn here. Don't hesitate to ask. While I currently don't have a Tempest but I do run a Thunder Carnage and a Zeus Carnage. The Thunder I use for ambushes and close support with a squad mate. The Zeus for midrange only.

Are you on iOS? Or Android?
The 3.0 update for the game has already hit android but not iOS yet. This update includes a buff to the Carnages energy shield (200% increase I believe? In regeneration). This means that it will regenerate just as fast as the Ancile that takes a weapon slot.
So if you are on iOS, when that update hits, it may be just what you are looking for to help with closer range and using Thunders.

Carnage will always be a glass cannon. He can brawl with thunders ( opportunity driven play) supress with tempest and trebuchets (position and area control driven play, best for squads) and annoy with the rest of the heavy weapons. Tridents used to be good but not so much anymore.
Now, in my experience learning the thunder carnage is not easy and paved with multiple failures but the rewards are worth it. As I dont own tempests, I cannot comment but I still think thunders is the best setup in the hands of a good pilot. Please notr that even great pilots will fail often with thunder carnage.

If you want opinions, you came to the right place ! Hahaha Thunder Carnage is a ambush style bot. Time your rush, hang around the fringes of action. Don't let the reds inside your bubble. With a tempest you have to face the reload time, thunders reload is fast and does more damage. And now we also have consider the mode you play, beacon rush is more up the thunder carnage alley.

My only experience is from test server, 8/8/8.
Didn't care for it, mostly because the carnage is a squishy platform. If you're looking at tempests, you're going for long range.
Trebuchets are long range.
Trebuchets eat carnages for breakfast.
Thus I chose Lancelot.
As always, ymmv.

Hi, welcome to the forum, i have two carnages at 9 and switch through Tempest, Zues and thunder (all at 9). Not sure what your overall hanger needs are, play style, league etc, but if the question is Tempest or Thunder, then the answer is straight forward enough. The two are completely different tools for completely different jobs. Tempest carngage is for medium to long range support, suppression and harassment. Thunder Carnage is close quarters assassination and murder. Many will debate the usefulness of a Tempest carnage, my experience was ok, but i got Tempest #3 and stuck it on a fury and IMHO just better. Zeus carnage is probably a better build for the mid range options on a carnage if you have them, if not and mid range is want you want then tempests will do fine, once you get the hanger of them. having said all of that, the reason I have two carnages is that the Thunder carnage is a non negotiable, it is just savage, I love it. It's one of the few builds you will still see at the highest level. Not actually using it at the moment as I am forcing myself to try other builds but once the shield buff hits iOS it's coming back out. Its certainly worth taking the time to master, it requires a certain mindset which will stand to you across many other builds.

Welcome. I highly recommend using the Search tab. Type Carnage in there and you will find a lot of amazing stuff.

I've got a lvl 9 Carnage with 8 Thunders, and it's pretty fun. Love just running up and punching other bots in the face. I have games where I run into the wrong bot and get killed before doing much damage, and I've had them where I've gotten two or three kills with it. I tried Tempests, but they weren't leveled up enough and I just didn't like them on the Carny. Maybe I'll try them again when I get a chance to pump them up a bit more.
I played a most miserable game yesterday on Yamantau against a red team that had two Treb Carnages. They stuck pretty close together all game, and they were devastating. Partly because they could quickly get behind cover if anybody got a bead on them, and partly because they and their teammates wouldn't let anybody get anywhere near them. They lasted the whole game, and I don't think either of them took any damage. They both had low damage on their team, but they softened all approaching blues up enough that their knifers could finish us off pretty easily. I think the Trebs were more effective than Tempests would have been because of the quick burst damage and they were able to stay away from everybody else's fire for so long. Of course it didn't help that we had NO gekkos or trebs of our own to counter them, or I think things might have gone differently.

I always have a thunder carnage in my hanger. Just so fun to use. It took me a while to get a hang of the continuous alternate firing though.

Thanks for all the replies, I will definately try the thunder build and the Zeus build. I am still trying to perfect my skill with the Tempests, I want to get them to 10 at least and see how much love I can give with them, trying to get carny hit points maxed as well.
