I'm going to try to not whine here. I've always found the MM to be up and down. Sometimes it's a fair fight, sometimes it's lopsided. It can't be perfect and it tends to even itself out over time. However, over the last few days (maybe a week), I've been in many more battles that were lopsided. Here is an example: Here's their top 3: Here's our top 3: Now granted, the squads probably affected the teams, but the squad on our side was much lower in terms of league and hangar weight. I mean all of their squad was maxed out bots. Even their 6th pilot had 11/11 bots. This is just one example, but it's pretty representative of what I've been facing lately. It's been 4 of these games to every 1 with just Expert or Diamond - Master. But seriously, how often should I be facing champion leaguers? Has there been a big drop in War Robots players so the MM just can't make good teams? Anyone else experiencing this?

I'll never be at your level. Down in Gold Android, we see this occasionally. Perhaps not as lopsided as the above examples, but not always evenly balanced either.

First off, any game is just about having fun. So, it doesn't matter what level you're at as long as that's the case. Secondly, I spent a decent amount of time struggling with this game and thinking I'll never make it very high. But I really like the game, learned enough about it and built my hangar up enough so that I wasn't just getting creamed every game. Still struggle from time to time, but it's still a lot of fun and I still have a ways to go to get to the top leagues. Onward and upward!

As for saying that I would never be at your level, that was a) me being my usual self deprecating self, b) you are several levels above me, and, while I may someday reach Diamond and Expert league (though I doubt it), you will have already far surpassed those levels, c) this is, as you have pointed out, a game. And, while fun, interests change. I have a timetable in mind for my weapons upgrades that will take me through almost to Christmas. Who knows if I'll still be playing War Robots by then? Who knows if War Robots will still be around then? I don't claim to have any insight. I'm only saying that anything can happen.

Although I am on Android. I do think some of the worst match-ups are full or near Champion squads. I sum it as the MM has to given me the honor of going against the best-of-the-best. I run solo, when I am matched with 4 or 5 from a clan, interesting where I end up: Not always this way, but do enjoy this. SoCal Wrong screenshot above:

I take your point and I agree that going up against tougher competition from time to time is beneficial. I just don't like doing it most of the time. And that's what it's been like lately. Maybe it's different on Android, but it's never been quite this brutal for me. Just played several more matches and all but one was mostly Master and Champion. I've won 3 of my last 12 games. Again not trying to whine, just trying to get some perspective. I just hope it's a temporary string of bad luck and not indicative of how the MM will be treating me now.

I just hope it's a temporary string of bad luck and not indicative of how the MM will be treating me now. I have had some serious swings in MM. One day you are King, the next day you are the peasant. I try to look for something to take away from my battles. I had a series a few months ago where I lost 8 battles in a row. The part that was most frustrating and I was so angry the MM gave the last 3 battles against Champion Clan squads & 2 of those were the same Clan squad in 3 battles. The Clan was a top 10 & I was Diamond or Expert. I was the only player in both matches & we were ran over both times. That was one of my worst beat-downs, but I kept playing. It will also give you a series of great battle & sometimes an Epic Series. A couple weeks ago, I went from the border of Master III to Master II in 7 days. Some things clicked and it was a great run. I am now less than 100 cups from Master I 1.5 weeks later. I think over time the MM will place you where you should be, but at times the path contains many peaks & valleys! SoCal

chaz do you usually play around the same time of day? I've noticed that who I get matched up with can vary if it's morning or evening - but I can't tell if more active pilots leads to better or worse matching (I'd think the former, but after school/work time often brings the stiffest competition. Also agree that when you are solo and get match with squads it's often a very poor alignment of levels. I'm iOS E2 and havnt experienced anything wildly different the last couple weeks. Usually three categories: mostly Diamond, mostly Expert, or a mix of E/M/Champ. Everything's out the window if it's squads - a total crap shoot.

Hi hi5. That's a good point. I try to play a bit in the morning, lunch break if I can and then after work. But, I haven't really tracked when I've been playing exactly. You're likely right that evening brings out more competition. I'll have to pay more attention to that. Thanks for the insight!

The MM really mixed league in iOS ATM. When I was in Expert, I could be matched with Champions League pilot to Diamond league pilot. Sometimes the Champions on my team, sometimes goes the other way. But I ok with it, some games end in 5 mins and we won, some games goes the other way.

It really threw off my rhythm when I first got to Expert 2, but now I think I've adjusted to it.

Where I am at now, I am used to battling Champion league hangars. It is what I expect. One thing I can let you know I look for at beginning of Battle: - I look at pilot names for clan names, I am playing a clan - At the beginning, it can be hard to tell on some maps, but look for groupings of bots!!!
*If they are coming in groups or a swarm - your OH 「dookie」 meter better be on blast because the ride is gonna get bumpy!! Knowing that you are facing an organized group should alter your play from the start!! You need to be more defensive in start and hold the line rather than be aggressive. Test your strength vs. theirs and also you better look to run in pairs+ with your blues. Running solo against an organized clan is a quick end to you hangar. I have gather great experience with being obliterated by multiple reds countless time now....
Hope that helps!!

Has anyone noticed that we no longer receive the gold bonus for the first 3 victories. I guess less gold means more money.

I don't know how MM is scripted for squads, but if I'm not wrong, there is a squad and normal queue, the server will just slot whatever "squads" into a normal MM-ed match, on a first come first serve basis. LOL just my speculation. One thing you can do, have a squad of 12s

Squad play is still pretty unpredictable as far as mm. Solo is much more balanced with the occasional crazy match up.
It can really get nuts when you're playing solo and get put in to fill a partial squad. Seems champs tend to run in 6 packs more often than not, and partial mixed squads are prone to being matched against them. I don't know what the solution is, but I'm sure Pix is working on it.
I still get the 3 bonus gold for 1st 3 squad victories.

Has there been a big drop in War Robots players so the MM just can't make good teams? Anyone else experiencing this? I know I'm necroposting, but I only saw this thread just now. Ever since Pix compressed the leagues, I too have been facing on average 2 - 4 Champions EVERY GAME. I noticed that in Expert 3 the matchmaking experience seesaws. If you're winning, you'll be placed in the top MM tier with all the Champions and Masters, and if you lose a lot you will face Diamond and even some Gold Leaguers until you win enough to go up the tier again. Once you make it to Expert 2 you face Champions in every game, whether you lose or not, unless you lose so much that you go back to Expert 3 again. So at the moment, I'm in this hellish MM purgatory where I am playing well enough to stay in Expert 2, but so underlevelled I can't progress further and I have to play defensively with midrangers each game just to stay alive. To add injury to insult, the Champions are smart enough to pick up on all this. They know if they Squad with 5 other champions, the MM won't be able to find another Champion squad in time, so it will just put in whoever is in the queue. This means a full squad of Champions will frequently be up against Expert level players, even Diamond 1 sometimes! Furthermore the Champions on our team won't even try to cap beacons as they just want to hang back, score as much damage as possible and farm silver. It's the worst part of this whole game IMO. Which is a shame cause the rest of it is so good. It's almost like a dynamic chess match with several different boards to play on which all influence the match in a different way. And that's seriously cool. Here are some of the biggest blowouts ive been on the end of. Just sharing so you at least have the satisfaction of knowing that you're not alone:

Definitely glad (sad?) to know that the MM gods aren't just raining fire down on me alone! In hindsight, it *was* right around the time when I leveled to E2 that this started happening. I didn't really make the connection at the time, since I didn't think there'd be much difference between E3 and E2. But, you're right, that must be the cutoff. Crazy! It hasn't changed since I posted this either. Though, now I'm in Master league and so I would expect to play some Champion leaguers. Still, you'd think I'd be playing more Master leaguers than anything else, which is never the case.

I think they just don't know what to do with squads. There are so many different possibilities and combinations, there's no way they can accommodate most of them and keep the squads together. As someone noted above, a squad of 6 champions is very unlikely to find another squad of champions to play against. Likewise, a mixed squad of different leagues is also very unlikely to find another squad similarly mixed and ready to start a game at the exact same time. Right now it just matches mast on the highest-ranked player on a squad; whether there's one or six at that level doesn't matter. I complain loudly about it and share many profanities with my clan in the squad chat after a bad whitewash; but thinking about the reality of it, they can either do what they're doing now, or have us wait for an hour or two for another equally matched squad to jump in. I can't think of any other way for then to handle it. All we can do is hope the law of averages keeps us on both sides of such lopsided pastings. Or do like me and mostly play solo.

Yeah I've been experiencing this myself. Was in diamond one and doing well. Now it's a battle to get out of diamond 3. Every time I start to climb out I get those hangers opposing and seems a lot of tankers and no beacon grabbers on mine. But still a couple heavy hitters (that never get beacons) just to make sure I don't get top two spots. Also seems if I load out a knifer hanger all I get is big maps and if I go long range I get close quarters maps. Ah well. Won't be too long till I'm running level 12 weaponry so I guess I can't complain

Just remember though. When you get those matches where you just smash through the opposing team you are that guy. Maybe yall don't have 12/12 hangers but a 9/9 hanger is a juggernaut to a 6/6
