Hi all I have just acquired a Galahad and want to use it in my high silver main hanger. All my bots are 6/8 except carnage which is 6/7 and Galahad which is now 4/8. What level can I take it to without going into low gold as I am not sure on the penalty at my level any advice gratefully appreciated + if you want my hanger just ask

I run 7/8 Galahads in what I believe is high silver. This is comfortably easy but every time my win percentage reaches 90% it gets *much* harder.

I think at level 6 the Galahad begins to get the hopping animation instead of the normal jog it gets at levels 1-5. I dont think you should use Brit Bots for high silver as they get a MM penalty which brings them into Low Gold, if you really wanted to use them in High Silver then the bot has to be a very low level with low level weapons on it

Negative om that. This - apart from the Jesse which I don't normally run - is my phone account, and is not gold I think. In fact farming yields more gold on average than when I did 4/12 Last Stand on my primary.

Level the Galahad to the same level as your heavy bots. You'll keep it in HS that way

You get the one Penalty for using Britbots/WSP at all, so he's already signed up for the penalty.

As I've been wondering about the Carnage/Galahad hangar impacts and where to level them for High Silver, I also appreciate everybody's comments here!

I am planning on getting Carnage and Galahad soonish but am already running a Rhino. Woohoo, I'm also already signed up for the penalty! Yeah, penalty.... or something!

For what it's worth, I do not believe that there *is* a wsp/britbot penalty after you reach high silver. There certainly is (or was when I tried) in lower tiers, but the numbers don't add up for HS.

One more voice, I am still running 6/8 to 6/9 heavies and Galahads, and even at 6/9, I still rarely face a gold team. Many times I am the sole level 30 player on my team, or 1 of 2. With the others ranging from low 20s on up. I'd say, 30% of the time the players are more matched to me, but even then, bot levels are HS or very trash gold. The majority are, say, bot level 9 and weapon level 6 or 7. It can still be a challenge if there are worse players on your team than the Red's so you still have to play smartly, even when you have better gear. But before I put level 9 weapons on, at 6/8, I can make a good estimation that 90% of games were in HS.

Agreed, I've been running a penalty heavy hanger in High Silver for a while now and from what I've observed its normal stuff for high win rate, with the occasional rubber banding. If I run the same level hanger without anything that has a penalty I'm seeing the same stuff, but it gets a lot harder because everyone else is using stuff with penalties that's more effective.

Bots are usually leveled all wrong with many 3 and 4 slot hangers, still. The quality of pilots can be better, but usually it is me vs the red team, with blue team being the bait. Not trying to sound egotistical, it really is that stark of a difference between what I have and know and what I face. Every now and again I will get banded into a pure low gold match with 8/10-ish opponents, but that is the exception. Once again, this site is a treasure trove of info. You feel like everyone knows all this info while on the forum, discussing with like minded folks... but then you go in game and see that most of those folks have about 30% of the knowledge you do. Not that all of the Reds suck, some are REALLY good considering the equipment they are using, but having been armed with not only the best methods of upgrading but good ideas of tactics that you can use to win, you have the advantage, most of the time.

Good to now I'm not going against to good opposition for a while although occasionally you see Galahad and rhinos as well as decent players. Does anyone know where you see mostly good players like mid gold or is it still bad there?

Hope the new ELO-based MM will fix this, as it will be less likely to put newbies with a 6/6 Nori/Zenit robot in your team. But of course it might eliminate the chance to play "down" in a lower tier.
