3. I like the way League matchmaking works - but I would like to see a more casual alternative matchmaking mode available. Casual mode would not count toward League points and would be based around hangar strength rather than Elo. Players could choose which mode to play depending on whether they feel like going at the game all out or just having a couple beers / stuck somewhere with no wifi. Would also like to see a higher silver multiplier for Premium - especially in upper Leagues. Occasional players who have been with the game a long time have difficulty keeping equipment current under the current system. I would also like to see a light robots only game mode for fast and furious destruction! - this mode would also make maxed out light robots useful for something again.

3. Here is a ballpark number:

*One out of five matches are inexplicably imbalanced in a negative way. Our league points+weapons are 40-60% less than that of the enemy (think of 6/8 hangar at 4 bots going up against 10/12 to 12/12 hangar of 5 bots). Needless to say, game's finished in a loss before timer hits 6:00.
*Three out of five matches are rather balanced. No comment.
*One out of five matches are inexplicably imbalanced in a positive way. Our league points+weapons are 40-60% more than that of the enemy (think of 6/8 hangar at 4 bots going up against 4/5 to 5/6 hangar of 3-5 bots). Needless to say, game's finished in a WIN before timer hits 6:00.

Matchmaking takes between 1 second to 1 minute. Faders are less prevalent in this patch than in the previous ones.

Finally...Pixonic should create a better algorithm for the map pool that it has. There are seven maps, so play 7 different maps in 10 matches (A, B, C, D, E, F, G...)- not 3 maps out of 7 in the pool in 10 matches, (A, A, A, B, B, C, C...)

I don't know if you should include this, but Pix should implement server stability in order to prevent teleporting issues.

Squad play is horribly unbalanced. Rare to get a match that seems even. Usually a steamroll one way or another. And randoms should never have to face full squads.

Random play is imbalanced but less so than squad.

Hangar weight needs to be in the formula. I don't care if it can be exploited. It is a better alternative to lopsided matches 80% of the time, even if the 80% was in my favor.

I don't like steamrolls.

I won't give my info as my two cents are to merely echo Dredd77, all of my matches have been completely acceptable except for the @rsehole faders and tankers who ruin the game whether they are going up or down.

That's funny because I ended my response with about the same thing.

"I truly have no real issues with the MM currently. As long as the large percentage of players in a match are equal league or close then things work out in my opinion."

The biggest problem they have is not the MM itsself (in my opinion) but rather the fact that:

1. Leagues create an incredibly competitive atmosphere. (Thats great!)
2. Leagues give people something to blame and complain about for being unfair when that amped up competition doesn't go their way.

I've preached this over and over and over again.... people will find, literally go looking for, something to be negative about before being positive.

I much prefer the old matchmaker. I'm tired of grinding up.... It takes forever, and its been quite stale for awhile. And the matchmaker is just nuts for me. I see Champions, Masters, Expert, Diamond, and Gold in my current position. I feel sorry for the gold players and get frustrated myself when facing champion squads. I know that they mixed leagues because of the lower player pool in higher leagues. But now they're mixing diamond and gold too.

I tried to run a hangar of light bots and it took me a week (without tanking) to drop into a groove in Diamond III where it was viable. It was refreshing playing a different play style with different bots, but I quickly rose again.... I don't want to bang my head against a wall for a week to try something different.

I miss being able to immediately drop and play Golems, Vitayaz, Boa, etc. These bots aren't viable at all. There's no reason to buy them, or spend gold or WSP on weapons.  I miss them.  Why would I invest my resources on that. We could go 6/8 mediums and be in high silver and have a great time. It wasn't a great investment in time or resources to attain that.

The stated problem to which the semi-Elo system was to solve was MagGep clubbing.  Once players got out of Bronze tier (which is easy to do) they weren't a problem. Plus, Pix sold lots of starter-pack Gepards. They killed their cash cow, because they are now useless.

There's no more depth to the game; its just a grind now - almost chore-like. Don't get me wrong - I still enjoy it or I wouldn't be playing.

In a few months I'll be stuck in Expert league surrounded by a bunch of dumb dashbots with a bunch of newly obsolete bots. What are we to do then? I'm a paying customer. There's nowhere to escape.... This pilot might just pull that eject button one final time.

I speak from my current league. From what I have heard things will get a lot more rough when I get into Expert and Master leagues.

Also forgot to add this excerpt which was just before my ending.

"What I am mostly looking at is not necessarily Leagues but the weapon and bot levels which people face me with. Generally they are much higher than my own, even within the same league it seems. I pride myself on winning against stronger bots and weapons but I do think it is odd how the better you do in this game the tougher it gets…… by intentionally putting the odds against you. (That is a concept to be used when facing AI controlled opposition not in a multiplayer game)"

For the most part I don't have any complaints about current Match making system. Yes, sometimes there are players above and below that shouldn't be there. I put this down to a lack of available players at the time and they rush to get you in a match. I wouldn't mind a longer wait time.

My only real complaint I have is when there is a full squad of Champions against a group of solo players that have no chance to win as they are totally out gunned. For an example of this I have a short video of a recent game in Android of team stats. Wasn't a very pretty game to be in for us. Haven't played this account since, but it happened twice that night so a little frustrated right now.

Currently climbing leagues slowly

MM is good. Usually good, close games, good matching opponents. Notable that every X games there is complete mismatch - one side completely outclassed another.

Casual, non league mode of play would be a great alt play mode. I think it would improve gameplay in league as casual players have alt option - leaving league players to focus on strategic wins.

Squad battles seem to be poorer match ups.

MM big improvement on previous mm. Note a lot of negative rants about MM on this forum but personally not experiencing problems.

My experience with the MM is that it works almost flawlessly until you reach Diamond. And that is where the proverbial 「dookie」 hits the proverbial fan. The range expands to include anyone above Diamond. And it's more than possible to reach Diamond with a 5/5-6/6 hangar with the current points distributions. A 5/5 or 6/6 guy should never be in a position where he can possibly be facing off against maxed 12/12 guys.

My suggested fixes:

-Get rid of positive points for losers. People should not be able to climb in leagues with 30-40% win rates, which is what happens to people that are doing high damage for their level. They mech because they can't stay alive with bots 3+ levels lower than their competition, so their team loses more often than not. But in the short time they're alive, they deal a lot of damage, so they climb. It makes no sense. I get that people reached stagnant points in leagues before, but that's because that's where they belonged!. When it takes 1-2 weeks to get a single bot from something like 8/8 to 9/9 (just one single bot), there's no reason to expect quick fluctuations in league standings. It should take three to four weeks of active playing to get from Diamond level bots and skill to Expert level bots and skill.

-Tighten the matchmaker. I'm sorry, but aside from the fact there are 12/12 tankers evenly distributed throughout the league system, there is no reason or excuse for a Diamond pilot to be in the same match as a Champion pilot.

-Tiered league rewards. Why does someone in Bronze league get the same amount of Ag payout after a game as someone in Champion? The Ag payouts should be tiered, so higher leagues offer higher per-game rewards. This can be done by either starting at the top, and reducing the payout for each league under; starting in the middle, and increasing as you go up or decreasing as you go down; or start at the bottom, and increase payouts as you go up. I don't care if overall payouts go down (first option), but they should be tiered to give incentive to people to climb leagues. This would remove the tanking problem almost entirely.

-FIX THE SQUAD MATCHMAKER! Why is this such a difficult thing to handle? If a squad has a Diamond, Gold and a Silver player, they should not be facing off against all Diamond players. Nevertheless all Champions players like they often get. It should either pull a similarly built squad, or if it has to pull randoms, it should pull three of equal level and handle the other three on each side as it normally does.

-Maximum level gaps. There should either be level caps for each league - if a player has bots over the level cap for their respective league, the effective stats in game will be that of the level cap. For example, cap Diamond at 9; a maxed hangar is in Diamond, his bots perform as if they were level 9/9. He doesn't actually lose levels on his bots, he just has to go up in league to use the full potential. The other solution would be bridges/gaps. Don't allow more than a two level gap from the highest average hangar to the lowest average hangar in any given match. So if the first player pulled into a match by the MM has an average hangar level of 7/7, there should be nobody over 8/8, and nobody under 6/6.

Not sure if other opinions will be the same, but those are things I think would fix the current issues related to matchmaking.

I have been experiencing a high amount Diamond players and Hangars that are not suited for my League. The superiority of my Opponents has prevented me, over time, from gaining both Positiin and Standings in the League system.

While I understand the need to extend the parameters of the player search, the desparity, in most cases, is too great.
