This happened to me once. I think I had like 4,990 gold and I was saving for something that required 5k gold. I was tired but so close I kept playing and ended up falling asleep. I had something in the middle of a weeklong upgrade, too. Anyway, the next day I woke up and my cat was nestled between me and my iPad. I charged it, powered it on and saw I now had 4 gold. That's 4 single gold pieces. Also, the upgrade that had three days left was over and my 14-20 million silver was all gone too.
In my sleep, either me or my cat must have just kept tapping the screen in the "pixonic's little sweet spot" repeatedly.
My upgrade was complete. Other than that, I have no idea where it went. My hangar was exactly the same. I must have upgrade something in my reserve hangar.
I emailed pixonic, explained the situation and got an "it sucks to be you" email where they said all gold sales are final. But we'll gladly sell you 5,000 gold at full price. Just follow the prompts in the game.

No one has access to my phone. My fingerprint is required to unlock it so that is definitely not the case. But I still think I'm SOL. Hmm. What a mystery. Maybe it was an inside job. Maybe Snowden hacked again. Maybe you visit "wrong" websites and got a nasty virus that likes to open your games, and spend your money. Imagine if that happen to you in real life. Actually, it happen to me. Sorry, we closed your accont and took your money because... you we'rent doing anything with it and just leaving it in there so we thought you didnt' need it anymore and died. 「whiskey tango foxtrot」?!?!??!?!?!?!? Yep, all sorts of shenanigans when there's no paper trail and I see kids nowadays trusting online banking and no paper statements like everything is gonna be ok.

Could you file a complaint with Google play or apple if they don't reimburse you? That would come out to alot of cash if you had paid for that much gold! Only direct payments that pass through the stores, i.e. you pay $$ for Playstore credits, can be tracked in Android or IOS. Ingame currency gained via playing is not refundable at ALL, unless it was bought with Cash, and under certain strict terms (time mostly) No. Well, apple doesn't anyway. Pixonic doesn't care if it's gold you won or gold you bought or if you spend it on what you want or on something accidentally.

I dump on Pixonic support for my past experiences, but kudos to them for doing right by you. I only hope it didn't take external intervention (dredd, etc) to get them to do the right thing.

I contacted them and sent a video of me crying. Kidding. I very politely asked them to help me explaining that I have been saving gold for months waiting for the new bots and weapons. Evidently I got a guy willing to help

Yeah nice to see a good and fast resolution for your problem.
I would have a hard time to imagine grinding 15K gold and losing it. Honestly I don't think I could go on, I'd just stop the game altogether.

Conspiracy time: What if Pixonic has coded in a random chance of this happening once you reach a certain gold savings threshold? This doesn't happen to everyone who saves gold of course but maybe to a small percentage of the playerbase so that they can reduce a massive amount of gold out in the game world at any point and just risk alienating a very small % of their playerbase. This is not a good conspiracy theory.

But in a light of a recent events I am starting to believe that they got good support for Android and so-so support for iOS, surprisingly. Not sure why you divide support that way, but oh well, there are so many mysteries out there. And it's fun thing about correctly typing the answer; One thing when a person uses very small vocabulary size and simple sentences, like: "Dear friend. We are very sorry. We can not fix that. Thank you for understanding!" - that is what a lot of Chinese ebay sellers do. But completely different thing when people just use a direct translation of each word, retaining sentence structure from their original language. Pretty often you can't tell if person is telling you "YES", "NO", or "YOU NEED TO WAIT" with overcomplicated poorly translated messages :\ Dunno why they are doing that, again.
