As a Cossack, this used to be my pet hate. The 1-whole-second time it takes for your legs to adjust from jumping to landing. This happens for every two legged bot, but handicaps the Cossack.
Guess what? I found a way to avoid it.
When you jump, aim to skim the far edge of a building or cover. The game will mistakenly think that you hit the edge, and triggers the landing animation. You continue to fall as per normal, but when you hit the ground, you hit the ground running (pardon the pun). This can shave 3-10 seconds off your capping time, and shows how much of an elite Cossack you are. Or just a sweaty nerd who needs a try hard on the interwebz's tips to steal beacons.
But gold is gold.

I discovered this exploit on accident using my speed running skills on Dead_City. Totally vouching for it. There's a grey patch on the ground just before the 1st low building to stage right (not sure how to describe which spawn zone) that you can start a jump over that building from and pretty consistently clip it's edge.
There's also a couple of spots on the far edges of the sniper's hills in Power_Plant that you can use to 'slide' down the slope instead of just falling off and getting the landing lag, works well for any light or medium bots, and actually 'pushes' most heavy bots a little faster than their traveling speed.
But yeah, mostly useful only for shaving a few seconds off of the time it takes for that first beacon capture.

This happens sometimes on Dead City when you jump over the small building to the right of your spawn.

I got it, it's supposed to be 'salty'. Translate "Chocolate Salty Balls" into Korean and you'll get his name. This is why I never trust Google Translate without a native speaker on hand
