Has any other players noticed the complete lack of midrange fighting on Yamantau, Canyon, and to an extent, Springfield, since the new update? Many players are now fielding their new souped up long range weapons, and holding back at their home beacon. Meanwhile the short range knife fighters grab three beacons, and hold back out of range. The consequence of this is the long range side almost always loses...but inevitably scores much higher than the knife fighters! I have repeated this pattern many times now to confirm, and I have got to say, it's really boring to play. Sometimes Mr Two Trebuchet wakes up to this happening in the 6th minute, and ventures forward, to the inevitable Orkan onslaught, but always too little too late. Anyone else feel the same way, or plays long range to counter my point?

In short, if 3 or 4 long range bots stick together around a beacon they have learnt that short range bots can always be destroyed before getting close enough to do any damage to them. However the consequence of this is that they do not capture any Beacons! After a couple of attempts by the knife fighters to approach the long range, and inevitably being destroyed, they give up and just sit the battle out. If this is the future of the game, then I am sadly disappointed.

Someone on this forum recently said "The team with the most snipers almost always loses" I never really thought of that before, but it seems true from my playing experience.
There are always too many range bots on my teams. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one trying to flip beacons. That's the main reason I stopped playing my Gekko Patton and added another knifer to my hangar.

I regularly get 600k+ damage on Yam wielding a mainly short range setup. The problem isn't the snipers per se (though they are numerous, annoying and boring). The problem is I think that the map itself is obsolete. I think the earlier incarnations of war robots might have had a place for Yam. I think with the souped up long rangers we have now, the tactical avenues are extremely limited on Yam.
There is only so much that can be done. The exposed flank is lethal at higher levels. So it's just another shooting alley. The centre beacon necessitates a suicidal run. The bridge has the only tactical avenue, but then snipers can still easily attack any advance.
My personal feeling would be, we need more maps, many more, and let's retire some of the older ones.

It's really just a function of a players game iq. That said, if they want to sit and camp, ill take the W, boring or no.
As long as said campers are on the red team anyways ?

Going to be interesting to see how beacon rush mode affects this. I think it could make snipers obsolete all together as taking a beacon as quickly as possible with speed or brute Force will be the name of the game.

I'm mid-long range. I think the Pin/Tulumba fear is still hanging in the air ..

I do agree that more maps would be nice, and I'm glad they're already working on a new one immediately after they released Moon. I was surprised when I saw a thread a few weeks ago state that we only have 7 maps. I think because the gameplay is so fun, and you can run into so many different situations on each map, it never really entered my mind. P.S. About the I <3 Yam thing. I don't, and never have had a sniper in my hangar. Don't have anything against the builds, because they are useful, I just don't want to have to be the one doing it because I don't enjoy it.
