Let me just preface this by saying this has been the absolute worst test weekend I've experienced yet. Read on at your own risk.
First, the good -- they reverted back to the current UI. Controls and indicators were back to the familiar size, locations and colors. No more eye strain trying to decipher the tiny pale pastel information. That's the only good thing I have to say.
The bad -- - Game action was HORRIBLE. About 2 minutes into almost every game, it switched to like a slow-motion with a god-awful refresh rate, making it slow, jerky, and basically unplayable. I ended up leaving almost every battle before I got to my second bot -- which was usually very quick.
- Couldn't really test the effectiveness of the increased gun damage on shields -- or much of anything else, for that matter -- because there were no shields to test against. All everybody was running was the new prototype bot. Which, in my humble opinion, sucks. Seriously, I can't tell you how many hangars were just 5 of that one bot in different configurations. More on that..... now. What I can say, though, is just about everything out there was eating up my Galahads like they were level 1 Destriers. Ditto Carnage and Ancilot.
- This new bot is going to thoroughly ruin the game if it's implemented as is. Maybe it's just because everybody on the TS had them, because as soon as you'd line up on anybody, they'd disappear, except they're still shooting at you -- with very potent weapons. And if you're not looking directly at them when they jump toward you, they're there tearing you up before you can do anything about it. I hate them. I tried off and on this weekend to try to figure out how to deal with them, and no luck unless I ran into somebody who didn't know what they were doing. It's hard enough tracking the bots that you can see moving in on you; these are going to be almost impossible.
Sorry to sound like such a negative Nelly, but overall this was the most unproductive, unenjoyable test weekend I've played yet. I'm really curious to hear anyone else's impressions.

Use one yourself and don't be the first one to jump.

Danny Linguini man, I think you should take a break from War Robots. There is very little if anything I can fathom you liking about this game right now based on all your posts. Don't be a masochist. I am honestly not trying to be mean. I truly believe you should

Three words that will affect Dash-bots and mitigate their dominance:
"LAGGY. ABILITY. BUTTON."

I am honestly not trying to be mean. I truly believe you should Ironically, just when I'm about to pack it in, I have a game with some of the best random teammates I've ever played with, even better than my old clan. It's amazing how just a little bit of teamwork can entirely change the game. In the middle of Yamantau, I had just grabbed the CB with my thunder/pinata Leo, three reds are marching up the ramp and I think I'm about to get disintegrated real quick, I pop out from behind cover to try to take at least one of them with me, and all of a sudden there's fire whizzing by me from a teammate I didn't see coming. We took out all three, and then a couple more before I finally bought it. I looked over and it was another thunder/pinata Leo laying waste to a bunch of reds with me. One of those cool moments that reminded me how much fun this game can be. As for the TS this weekend, that just wasn't much fun. I go in there whenever it's available to test the new features Pix is prototyping, as well as some of my current setups to see how they'd fare against the new stuff, and to experiment with gold and WP bots and weapons to be able to make a smart, informed purchase in the real game when I accumulate enough to do so. Between the OP bots and technical issues with the TS, I was unable to do any of those things, and it just added to the frustration that I and obviously other players have been experiencing this week. But that's why I noted in the first post here that I'd like to know if anyone else experienced the same thing.

You will agree with what this man is talking about. I also agreed with one of his previous posts and I don't think he is out of line. Some different voices need to be heard. The new Red armored Griffin+stalker+Lancelot hybrid bot is breaking the balance for sure. The bot has a heavy and two medium firepower just like Lancelot, and can jump like Griffin and can stealth like stalker. A Thunder Orkan Lancelot jump across your face and can't be attacked is simply an insult to game balance, other regular bots just became a complete joke. You basically have to use it to compete against it.

I got some of the most furious and tightest games ever this weekend on the test server. I got a few games with 8 kills.
For now, I would call the new bot the "Inquisitor".
Playing the event games feels normal, a grind and a bore in comparison.

So nobody else experienced a stutter mid-game? It's like what occasionally happens in the live game when too many bullets are flying around and the game can't keep up with them, except it stays like that for the remainder of that match. Now that I think of it, it seemed to happen a lot when that new prototype weapon was being used -- which was also being used a lot on the new bot.

It was big time laggy a lot of times. I think it's the new chain zeus weapon causing the lag.
The jumping bot is no big deal and people are blowing it out of proportion. It's not shielded like an ancilot so it's not a "jumping ancilot" in the least. I tried the orkan/ancile build on it and it's good but not overpowering. You can easily take it out with tarans or a zeus. Not to mention the scourge if they don't nerf it considerably first.

I am sorry for you sir, as you've missed the point of the post you quoted. It was not specifically about the Test Server. It was about Danny Linguini clearly being unhappy with both the Live Server (actual game we play) and now the Test Server as well. Whether the Test Server is a bizarro variation of the game or not is irrelevant. What is relevant, is the clear frustration coming through is Danny Linguini 's frustraion and that is why I suggest taming a break. There is nothing out of line with desiring a better mental state for both a fellow gamer and fellow forum members.
