Going to try this challenge thing again, with a twist (prize)! This is a video challenge, so I apologize if you are unable to participate because you can't record gameplay. For those that can, here's how it works.1) Squad with at least one teammate. 2) One of you must have an Ancilot (either Taran or Orkan, your preference). 3) The other must have a Triple Thunder Fury. You will stick together, the Fury taking advantage of the Ancile shield, and the Lancelot taking advantage of the massive boost in firepower behind it. This is a brawling tandem, so you'll want to stick to close quarters. Record, from either perspective, your gameplay and upload it to YouTube. Either edited, or simply a full gameplay video. How to determine a winner:After the deadline, three videos will be chosen as finalists. These three videos will then be voted on here and a Champion will be born! Deadline for video submission: Saturday, July 22nd at 11:59pm PST Voting on three videos will begin on Monday, July 24th and end on Friday, July 28th. Entry instructions: Simply upload your video to YouTube and then post a link or the video in reply to this thread. Prize: Yes, there is a prize. Thanks to Dredd77 trolling my last thread.  I will be gifting the winner of this challenge 500Au. (Minimum of three entries) I know it's nothing to write home about, but hey - I'm spending my own money here, and this is the first challenge. And, it is free gold after all. |

I ran a dual ancile, dual ECU-Tasha for a few games a few weeks back. Luckily, the pilots 'got it' and we annihilated the field in canyon...twice. Ran that Natasha with a leo, grif and carnage back to the red spawn point and it was all over from there...in mid gold no less.
have not been able to replicate that feat since.

Forgot one thing: I have an iOS and an Android device, but I do not have an Amazon device. So the challenge is unfortunately only open to the two main platforms.
If anyone has ideas for another challenge, feel free to post them here as well. If this one goes well, I'll look into hosting a challenge every month!

Wouldn't it be better to have a Galahad, dual ancile carny, and a fury? It would be best to have a wall of three Ancilots followed by three Thunder Fury. But alas, this challenge only involves two people because requiring more than that would significantly cut down on the possible entries. But in regards to your idea specifically, you're adding an entire bot to the mix and the only benefit is an additional ~1.3 anciles. The downside being, it's a lot harder to line up three bots in a specific order that close together than it is to just have one bot behind another. Either way, I'd be interested to see both in action. |

There are several very capable combos possible with Ancile bots. I have ten Anciles (9/9/9/9/9/7/7/6/6) and did hundreds of matches with them. The most outstanding Ancile platforms are Carnage, Raijin and Natasha. Each of them has its own advantages in certain situations.
Dual Ancile Carnage:
The perfect bodyguard for Lance. It is fast enough to keep up with Lance anytime. It is also agile enough to quickly use Lance as cover when you get flanked by plasma.
Dual Ancile Raijin:
It's a terror for reds to crack it open and take it down while your team mates cornershoot from behind you. Absolutely hilarious in the moon map tunnel.
Dual Ancile/Ecu Natasha:
The go-to bot to capture center beacon on Yamantau for example. You walk up the ramp with a rotated turret so the Ecu can happily eat plasma. Team mates behind you kill anything that defends the beacon.
Carnage is for following brawlers.
Raijin is for massive fortification.
Natasha is for gaining ground under heavy fire.

It's your event. It's your idea. You're hosting it. And, most importantly, you're funding it on your own. You absolutely don't need anyone else's inputs (least of all, mine) but ask for whatever interests you. If you want to see something hard to do, something quirky (that succeeds), or anything else that strikes your fancy, have at it.

But I did ask for ideas for future challenges Plus, I think there needs to, or at least should, be a fair balance between my enjoyment and the community enjoyment. While I am spending my own money, it isn't a huge amount to incentivize people. It's more so just a little fun with a small bonus to make it interesting. I want to challenge people to go outside the norm, but I want it to be something possible and fun to try. Any ideas are always welcome. |
