Normally I field a Golem with Trident, CRV Pin and S-25 Tulumbas. Hehe, it just happened, that I won a Gareth and a Hydra.
My question is: Is it a good thing, to swap the Tulumbas for the Hydra?

Put them on a griffin along with two spirals and see how much damage you can do.

regarding the hydra pissing people off
is it the enemy that gets mad or your allies
im not really sure how good the hydra is

Keep the tulumba.
Hydra is tricky to use properly. Need to lock on and aim well next to the target box. This makes it hit the target in the flank. Good for shield bots. Only . . . the amount off damage, nah

I wouldn't recommend the Hydra/Spiral Griffin. This bot does too little damage to do well playing random. To do well with thus setup you invariably have to play well back and that means firing on targets that you don't have the highest hit confidence. I don't know if you've fought Hydras in the upper tiers, but good pilots move close to cover and that 4 second unload just about guarantees that less half of your salvo will land - maybe none of your Hydras/Sprials will do damage if it's a shield big target.
Ive not seen Hydras impact a TT battle to any degree and that simply because you waste too much time on firing on unsure targets. Additionally, If you consider the triple Trident Fury or the RDB Griffin (two line of sight mid-range setups), these bots have very high hit rates and they do considerably more damage per salvo ----- so there's not really much going for the Hydra to argue that it should replace those 2 mid-range standards.
The Hydra - the weapon Pix will never allow to be the Spawn (and I hope it stays the sub-standard weapon it is now).

Hydras are annoying. Once in a while you'll snipe a kill, but certainly needs a buff to be more than an annoyance. I sigh a great big sigh when my teammates have them and smile a great big smile when it's my enemy.
Friends don't let friends use hydras ?

I can't fathom why anyone would want to put a hydra on a perfectly good Griffin. Turn it into a Plasma grif, or an RDP, or a DB Griff--anything please. But not a Hydra.
