I'll enjoy my Cossack a lot more once I get a Taran for it. I have a couple of Thunder Schutze kicking around but I much prefer my Gephid. I normally only pull out my Mag Gep to counter-club a Mag Gep.

Great read Dredd. It correlates to what I've noticed as I play, so it's good to know that someone out there is taking the time to show this stuff. BTW.. you *destroyed* me the other night when I was playing. Seriously.. you took out my entire hanger...it was pretty awesome. I saw your name and I came gunning for you. Back to the drawing board for me with my hanger set up. As far as the clubbing phenom goes.. I had to start over, so I bought a Gep this time. I played a bit with it, and realized....it's just not fun. I like my low level light bot set up the most. 1 Desty, lvl 4, with two punishers at Lvl 6 1 Cossak, lvl 4, orkan at lvl 7 1 Schutze, lvl 4, Thunder at lvl 6 1 Cossak, lvl 4, Taran @ lvl 4 I actively will hunt any MagGeps that I see on the other team, because it's just fun to mow them down with a Desty or my schutze. Erm... punisher destriers are food. Destriers full stop are food. I'd put the Gep back in for the destrier if I were you. then again, just my $0.02, no need to listen to Salt.

Hey, thanks for the kind words! I quoted you in today's update, by the way. It looks like I've moved up a little in the MM, so not sure we'll have the chance at a rematch just yet! Long and short of it, I built a DB Golem after winning a Golem in the Christmas Event, and sicne then it's bumped me up a touch. Keep rocking those Lights, though! I"m with you abut the Gep- it just stopped being fun at that level. I'll slowly be growing a Silver Tier list, and believe me, I'll be feeling a lot less guilty about the MagGep then.

Enjoyable read, thanks for compiling the info. Did you have time of day statistics? It seems like some are more clubber prone than others. I've heard that. My sample ran from afternoon to evening/late night. Pretty borad base, but I didn't do mornings. I'm GMT-5, so that might have something to do with it.

Hey dredd, when you get to low silver, can you run another analysis, interested in what the findings are for low silver.
When I ran in low bronze on iOS a while back to farm for my lancelot, I was ecountering full mag gep clubbers almost every game.
In high bronze on android two months ago, I was encountering full mag gep clubbers around every one out of five games.

Glad to see that you're enjoying the Orkan Golem. I was actually able to get 800k in low silver or high bronze with it, lol.

Excellent read! Thanks for your numerical break down. Numbers don't lie. This reflects what I have seen. I do see things get very clubby for short times, but not as a rule. I know it is selfish to ask you to keep it up, but more data makes numbers even stronger. The only problem with this is you will shut down the people on here that whine endlessly about geps. I fear this topic will soon get over run by them. Dredd, You rock.

From what I know, more geps are seen in low silver and low bronze. I think dredd was only analyzing high bronze here because of his zeus schutze. Still though, it's nice to see that at least one sub-tier is relatively free from clubbing.

I've already been keeping stats for this coming week's stat post, and it's probably going to be a semi-regular thing. I think the conclusions this week are going to be pretty interesting.

That was a good read* (read it a while ago on phone, just now found that tab back - lol). I suspect I might have been the person in one of your paragraphs, and my stance still holds true; if I see an entire team of maggeps/aphgeps either as team red or team blue, I've lost interest in the match. It's not fun for either side (short of the inner troll) and there's very little in terms of trying to improve one's skills one can do. One maggep, sure. Two, fine. Three, why not. 5/6 with hangars full of them? All you're learning is how to die less quickly by cowering behind buildings as much as possible and trying to take them out at long range before they swarm in on you from all sides and blast you to oblivion. /cynical I definitely think that it would be good to have statistics from multiple players, just to get a few different sets of statistical data. Unfortunately (thankfully?) I've seen fewer OPgeps around lately. Maybe the MM is just getting me lucky (not in terms of wins to be sure, but in terms of avoiding those teams). Glad to see you're keeping stats while moving around tiers as well * Edit: I should clarify: it's not just a good read for the information that it (and your other posts so far) contains, but it's a 'good read' for the fact that it's easy to read with the lighthearted tone and use of unobtrusive, almost casual, use of analogies keeping me reading and looking forward to the next paragraph.

Ran a hanger with just those last night. All lvl 4, all with punishers at lvl 6. Ended up with a kill ratio of 2:1. If they are food, then it's food that bites back. I even took a Desty that I've bumped up to lvl 7, with lvl 10 punishers and rolled in trash gold. It held up fine there, as well. 2 caps and 2 kills with it before it died.

Salt is just a little salty... don't mind him. In all seriousness, though, the Punisher did get a damage increase... I haven't played in bronze since, so it may well have made it more viable down there... which, frankly, it should be the main tier that it is viable in.

Okay okay I will then re-construct my statement. Most destrier pilots, especially those without vigus-level skill, are food, full stop.

I just started a new account just to use my experience body in an inexperienced bot to try and at least destroy seal clubbers. my real club killer is a patton with all pinaitas at levels 5 and the bot at 2
i also have a cossack for beacons and a golem cause its actually pretty darn good

Thanks for putting in the work and effort. I have one bit of food for thought, how did each of the reds feel when you were rolling around? Bet if they looked at your level, your hanger of five, your seemingly higher bit/weapon levels, etc. do you think they would have felt it was fair? Do you think they would feel you were clubbing? Yeah, I think they would.
Personally, I refuse to club and just play up in Gold. I did play for a long while in silver, basically played for a long time farming gold and buying new Bots and weapons instead of advancing further and got to the point it was getting absurdly easy. Then I leveled and hit High silver and thenTrash Gold and now Gold, wow did I get beaten for a while being the bottom of my tier then crawled to the top and dominant play. Now I'm setting my sights on atop tier.
Maybe, if you really want to hone your skills and master a bot, try doing it from the bottom of the tier instead, then you know you've earned the Ws and the Gold!

zman To be fair, the post you're looking at was from around my third week of the game. The conflict between my enjoyment of Bronze Tier for its own merits, and aversion to clubbing, has been a central theme in subsequent posts. But I appreciate the read/comment. You're absolutely right about some of the things that give an edge over others. Even without running a single Gep-anything, a hangar of five is (potentially) a huge advantage. I say potentially, because it's rare to mech out that far deep before the game's over. I usually would go through one or two bots a match, but I also knew I could go deeper if I wanted, AND having five gave me a versatility others lacked.
