I'm finally accumulating a bit of WP's -- in less than a couple of weeks I'll have13k with my eye on a Fujin if I don't blow it on something else. I'm wondering if it would be better spent on weapons that I can be gradually leveling up and put on my mediocre bots, or wait for the Fujin (or whatever else I've decided I want after the 300 or so times I'll have changed my mind by then). I'm gonna have to level up whatever bot I get, while I'm still leveling up my current fairly low hangar, but I can at least arm it with the weapons I've already been leveling. Or there's the even lengthier process of acquiring and leveling up WP weapons.
Just to add, I desperately need a little more speed in my hangar, but I don't want to totally give up every bot of fire power for it. Fujin or Carnage seem to be the best compromises, but I like the medium weapon options better than the current heavies (until they drop that Tempest, anyway!!!), which is why I'm leaning toward a Fujin.
I know the rule of thumb for gold buys is bot slots first, then weapons, then bots last. What's the consensus for spending WP?

Weapons first! Get like four tarans and magnums and then at least two tridents. Then you start thinking about bots. My advice would be to start with a Carnage on which you can keep the thunders or the tridents you already bought with the wsp.

Magnums and Tarans for sure. I picked up a stalker for lower levels. That was months ago though, now the Carnage is a better option after missile buffs.

There's a WP Spending Guide on the wiki. I'd recommend giving it a read, it's very informative.

I always am a fan of fun, so get whatever you want, and then some, but what I've always seen is that people say 8x magnums 4x Tarans 1x Carnage 2x Tridents and then whatever you want. Obviously though, choice is up to you. Just don't 「fluffernutter」 it up.

4x tarans 4x magnums 1x carnage
Fujiin just isn't good enough for consideration.

If you have bots/plans for Tarans and Mags, get them. Then get Carnage. Don't get weps you don't plan to use immediately before getting a Carnage.
Assuming you want a Carnage at all. It's very good, but there are valid alternatives for same roles.
