At the expense of beacons.
No snowflake benefit for beacons or winning.
I think we may see fewer beacon runners.

At least they don't camp. And opposition being reckless is an opprtunity for tactical players. Had one guy walk right into my DB trap - no physiological warfare needed.

Doesn't matter. During the event I won't be looking for wins, and there ain't no way I'll be letting some random out damage me

I have had about 8 games now.
there is no camping. Shenzen particularly is a meat grinder. No one is hiding (myself included). Damage is king.
What is strange is that I don't want the new bots and don't really want or need anything from chests, yet i still want to get them.

This event didn't have nearly as much effect on me though, I think I'll just dump my flakes into my clan.

The matches have gotten much more competitive. I have noticed alot of players eject right after they select a bot thinking it will get them snowflakes, and when the match ends they didn't get the 2 flakes for the bottom position.

I noticed somebody got 9000 damage and no snowflakes... If they ejected during the replacement period and struck the damage with a zenit or nori, it's entirely expected that they wouldn't get the snowflakes. edit: it's just not expected that they didn't get replaced.

Fine with me. Makes it easier for me to get the most captures and the 5 gold with it and still am able to out dmg everyone on my team.

I'm loving the meat grinder. I finally started playing my high silver hanger in earnest and I'm loving it! I've killed my phone battery twice today already and I might again after work.
Caution has been thrown to the wind as players charge in, even when they shouldn't (millions of RDB Griffins). I'm getting two or three kills with each rhino, and even better with my Zeus Fury.
I'm seeing many more fights determined by botting out than beacons. Reminds me of bronze when everyone had three hanger slots.

I am seeing clans that are normally difficult to beat playing way too aggressively and not even using their Furies with caution.
I will say that I'm after that extra 1 snowflake for damage and I guess that means I'm kinda playing against my own teammates.
Losses are probably not a concern to most pilots during this event due to the boxes giving you all the gold and silver to offset not winnng. Heck, got 100 Au in my last free box - that just makes me want to just get max damages on my team every game - who cares what the red team does, I'm bit competing with them for the snowflakes.

I'm playing no differently than I always do; the snowflakes are nice, but...if you win, you'll get them anyway. Plus Au. I'm almost always in the top three for damage dealt, on either team, so my normal playing style works out just fine.
Actually, I have made a few minor adjustments, but only due to the hangar I'm running. At the moment, I'm running five Carnages...2x Thunder, 1x Trident, 1x Zeus, and 1x Treb (which I may switch to Kwk, but so far haven't had to use it). I freaking love this bot - glass cannon, but brother, nothing else in the game quite lives up to its name like the Carnage. I'm actually slightly more cautious than usual, as a result of having to be careful not to be caught without Rush available or my weapons charged...my damage numbers are slightly down from when I'm running DB, PDB, and RDB Griffs along with two Thunder Carnage, but...Carnage is just so much fun.
So, yeah, the event is great, but I'm still playing to win. Which, requires both beacons and vast amounts of damage...so far, I've noticed nothing different in the opposition.

Unless I'm doing a clan squad, I'm finding it very easy to earn gold, snow and silver.

So I've found an interesting strategy whilst solo-ing on my iOS account. Save your highest DPS/DPM bot for last. Most everybody seems to be rushing to do as much damage as quickly as possible, pulling out their best bots first. So I let both teams slam into each other, much like American football teams would do. Meanwhile, I'm avoiding any direct conflict with the NME and taking beacons as fast as I can (may as well get that MoC for +5 Au), but not using my one-and-only Gepard until the very last. By that point, all the other fools have used up their high damage bots, leaving me and my lil' demon free to mop up the rest of the enemies with relative ease. I now have an official 10-kill streak on my n00b account ^_^

I want the game over asap. Time is your biggest enemy during this event.

I haven't been playing any differently. You still get two snowflakes for being last in damage. The bigger differences are in gold payout, but I value practice in gold hangar setups about as much as gold, which accrues fine from tasks. But the win is the thing for me, even if it means getting a beacon that costs me damage dealt.

I see lots of difference in the enemy. I can tell you that I see around 3-5 Thunder Natashas per match instead of the usual Zenit Natasha

I'm starting to see more Leos now. It seems like the thunder Natasha people are making the transition, or going back to camping.
Either way though, I've been getting a ton of kills from those nice big juicy targets!
I've been seeing more quitters than usual as well, usually when I bring out my Zeus Fury. It's happened over a dozen times today that I hit someone with a full blast and they eject and don't respawn. Either that or they try the death march right out in the open.
