Never do this. Never put sustained fire medium weapons behind the shield of a Rhino. Especially at knife fighter ranges. It completely negates the ability to reuse the shield in combat. Use burst medium weapons so you can put your shield back up to soak up some damage with it. The shield is a speed boost, not a shield. A Plasma Rhino will win against every enemy plasma build in a 1v1. Idealistically, the situation you describe above almost NEVER happens. You put the shield up, charge and then a Death Button Griffin jumps on you Tell me you didn't just call the most powerful shield in the game a speed boost. #TRIGGERED

(snip) I would recommend against ancilot as every RDB Griff and his grandmother is going to concentrate on you and that big blue glowing shield of yours. Ancilot = higher priority = focused fire in an atttempt to take it down before it can do serious damage. Agree with all the other Strayed said, both about hangar advice and piloting a Rhino. However, I still find ancilots *very* useful in top. Their capacity to absorb damage is what sets them apart. The point is that a swarm line of ancilots can grab any beacon, since the red team will spend so long taking them out. For solo play, not very good, but excellent in full squads where everyone has a couple.

Yeah, from what I gleaned, OP plays solo so that's why I didn't recommend it. A full squad of ancilots is very powerful as you said however. So unless you're in a high level clan that frequently squads and everyone has at least one ancilot, I wouldn't recommend it.

I like the bots you are running and the setups. If I would make one recommendation, I would say to consider getting a Rog to replace your Rhino and keep Orkans on it. You wouldn't be loosing a ton of firepower from it, but you are gaining mobility and maybe more importantly, survivability. I take on thunder ork lances in champion all the time with it and (unless I'm caught off guard) I win my fair share. sneaking into range, then back peddling/jumping back while he fires, all while firing your orks is devastating. You take a relatively small amount of damage while they get your full effect. Rog still beacon caps very well. Downside is obviously plasma, but there is less plasma these days.
The last reason why this would work for you is that you obviously understand and can use the jump bots to full effect. This means you won't have to shift your strategy when you drop that one Rhino every game. Nothing sucks more than reaching for the jump button by instinct only for your damn shield to go up and to eat a mouth full of rockets.
