Fourth slot is a necessity, after that you should level all your bots more while saving gold and buy some orkans when your at around 6/9 (bots level 6 and weapons 9) which is when orkans will become very useful. You could get a Gareth but it's possible it would bump you up to a higher tier make things a lot harder for yourself.

Don't really understand or care about tiers. I'm probably wrong, but I'm in about silver now aren't I?

Ok don't spend your gold until you get your 4th slot, then your 5th slot. These are essentially "lives" and will not only give you more chances to help your team win but every bot you field will earn you money as they do damage.
It SUCKS to save gold but at some point you'll have to do it it and you'll reap the benefits longer the earlier you get them.

You're going to need that fourth hangar slot as soon as possible. Also, I would switch out the Stalker for a more durable bot such as the Boa Thunder/Orkan or Griffin Taran/Magnum. You'll also be needing a medium/long range robot soon for your fourth robot I would use a Griffin Tulumbas/CRV Pins. Also, I would switch out one of the Leos for possibly a Patton Pinata and then transition that to the Griffin Orkan/Pinata.

Alternatively you could stop using that hanger for a bit build a 4/8 medium 4/12 light low silver hanger and farm there for a while with 4th slot and save for a few orkans (4is a good number), then get 5th slot Galahad and some aphids. You can also use that hanger while you build up some bots (griffins, rhino if you want, carnage) and weapons (tarans, mags, orkans etc) and then hop into low/trash gold with a good hanger and reck everyone

Slots before bots.
Switch the Stalker for a non-wsp light bot (Cossack is probably the only good option atm) because you're getting shoved forcefully against opponents much harder than you need to be facing; it'll make the grind a lot smoother with a cossack (easy beacons for easy gold, easier opponents for easy damage for easy gold).

Good, I already have a decent Cossack and griffin. So, what most of you are saying is go clubbing? Have any good setups for that without having to use gems?

Should I go punisher or Tulus on Cossack?

My opinion is that at the level you are playing you need to stop using heavies. Pull the weapons off and put them on a couple of good mediums leveled to maybe 3 or 4. (I am currently using a silver hanger of 3/8 mediums while I'm leveling my gold hanger, lots of fun).
Not necessarily the best bot in the world, but all your weapons will directly transfer to Vityaz. I'd recommend use two of those and the stalker and when you can get a boa or two and arm with thunders and Tarans.
Don't spend gold on WSP. Eventually you will find yourself with way to much WSP and you are well short on gold right now.

Should I go punisher or Tulus on Cossack? Use Punisher T if you are mining and Tulumbas for silver tier.

Already have a boa and plenty of thunders, but no Taran yet (will use a Tulus until I can get one), but I will get one after I get a second mag for my stalker. Not sure I have enough money for a vityaz atm, but when I do I'll get one. Recommended levels and setups for the bots?

Also, not really sure why I shouldn't be using heavies. My battles usually go well and I usually get 5-8 gold, and my Leo's are pretty OP and there isn't much they don't kill.

The only somewhat viable setups on the Leo for high tier are Trident/CRV Pins and Ancile/Aphids or Thunder/Aphids. Leos are outgunned by Rhinos, Lancelots, Griffins and Furies (basically the only robots that are run in gold) so I wouldn't quite consider them "OP".

Also, not really sure why I shouldn't be using heavies. My battles usually go well and I usually get 5-8 gold, and my Leo's are pretty OP and there isn't much they don't kill. While my best ever single bot run was using a Leo (thunder/mag, 9 kills and over 600000 damage) I don't think they are a good platform in higher tiers. The reason for not using heavies is that currently they are not balanced to your weapons - the general consensus is to keep weapons 2 levels above bots. I do this for my trash gold hanger. My silver hanger has weapons 5 levels above bots (same weapons in each hanger). I can do phenomenal damage for the tier that I am in but I have to use cover or I'm toast. (although boas at level 3 are still pretty tough). If you go to level 3 mediums with your present level 5 weapons then you should go down to a lower tier. But, If you are happy with your placing then by all means stick with what you've got.

Tier consistency is the short answer That too. Your heavies are sending your stalker into a much higher tier than it should be in, and the stalker penalty is putting the heavies into a higher tier again.

Sometimes I switch out my RDB Griffin for a splash Leo or Trident Carnage to keep my hangar from getting stale, and I don't suffer much from it. One thing I like about the splash Leo is that CRVs and Tridents have near identical cycle times, meaning that your volleys will be very consistent.

Lvl 4 Ag mediums are pretty cheap to level to, so it shouldn't be much trouble to replace it. Also, consider using the Boa- it has about 50% more health than a Golem at the cost of a little firepower, and will last a lot longer in combat.

Get that fourth slot. More bots equals more damage and beacons, which equals more gold. Same thing for the fifth slot. Orkins or tarans on a rog is an investment you won't regret. A tank like a boa that can jump like a griffin!

The reason I mentioned Vityez was the ease of which the present weapon loadouts can be moved.
