If I battle and all my bots are killed can I leave to do another battle or will that count against me and send me to leavers queue eventually?
edit.~ Got an answer from Pix but not to my specific question. Will update again if I do:
"Players who leave battles systematically are penalized in terms of getting placed into a separate matchmaking queue, isolated from other players who play fair. So-called leavers queue. To answer your question, in fact every leave is penalized (be it a map skip if you abandon a battle before the countdown, be it a connectivity issue or an incoming call) but if it happens now and then it does not have much of an impact. The system detects systematic leaves. In other words, if you abandon battles occasionally you will not be penalized."
Definitely dont play while on a bad connection for very long is a big takeaway I got from that exchange. The system will detect your ?bum-bum? right into the LQ. Geez Louise. Lol
~edit- 2nd Pix follow up:
"Oh, sorry I did not include it in my first reply. You do not have to wait for the battle to end if you run out of robots — you will not be penalized."
So there we go. Done and done!

This one should be safe to do. I do it as well (unless the battle is interesting) and never had a problem with LQ.

Tatamat is right. If you mech out (lose all your bots) you can leave a fight and it will not count towards placing you in the LQ.

I asked Pix and this is a partial reply. They specifically did not answer my question about leaving after all bots killed. I replied and asked again. Will update if they ever confirm one way or the other.

Thanks for following up once you got a response from Pix. I know LQ is a relatively vague subject without much info available. This is good to know.

Look, it's very easy. They're counting the number of times you press the leave battle through menu on upper right. Early, late, whatever.
What if you mech out? The button to leave the battle is different than the one through the menu. Doesn't count.
What if you lose connection? You didn't press leave battle through the menu. Doesn't count.
The only addition to this is if you idle without participating in the game this counts as negative karma as well and you'll end up in LQ.

What if you lose connection? You didn't press leave battle through the menu. Doesn't count. According to Pix is DOES count against you. From my comments above which you didn't read or chose to ignore: Pix says "Players who leave battles systematically are penalized in terms of getting placed into a separate matchmaking queue, isolated from other players who play fair. So-called leavers queue. To answer your question, in fact every leave is penalized (be it a map skip if you abandon a battle before the countdown, be it a connectivity issue or an incoming call) but if it happens now and then it does not have much of an impact. To have opinion or debate is one thing but to put out info the opposite of what Pix clearly states is just plain wrong. It helps no one.

At this point, the only way to leave a match before it is over according to the server, once you have selected begin battle and receive no penalty for doing so, is if you have no other robots to choose (which is known as meching out).
Any other departure from a match before the server says so and/or while you still have at least one more bot to use will result in 'Negative Karma.'
'Negative Karma' is nothing to worry about if you rarely if ever leave a match before the server says it's over or you have no more bots to use.
However, 'Negative Karma' is multiplicative. Leave a match early once, it's 2 negative karma. Leave a match early twice, it's 4. And so one.
Meanwhile, 'Good Karma' is additive. Each completed match to the server's satisfaction is 2 'good karma.'
The actual values have been pulled from my arse, but the formula is what Pixonic is using.
